I visited Japan in late September, from Tokyo, Hakodate and Kansai. It was very hot and humid but I had a good time. Next time, I will spend the first day taking an easy and rest
Oh wow, that's great you did such an extensive travel from Hokkaido to Kansai. Yes, this summer was quite long and hot. I'm glad you had a good time overall and I hope you come back here again. :)
A brilliant guide thank you. I have travelled to Tokyo 8 times and will be travelling there in three weeks. It’s nice to see places that I have not explored.
Thanks for the video! Im just back from a holiday in tokyo and i found your videos really helpful for planning my trip! Thank you for the hard work you put into making these
Thank you so much Kensan. I will be in Tokyo next February, staying in Kuramae. I had no idea there was a viewing platform opposite the entrance to Senso Ji. It's now on my itinerary as well as Neo park area. Thank you for your hard work in making these videos.
Thank you for watching. Yes, it's above the tourism center in front of Kaminarimon gate. Neo Park is the one in Okinawa? I'm glad you liked the videos. I wish you the best trip in Japan. :)
Thank you for your answer.Bavaria , simply means Bayern and I live at the foot of Germany's highest mountain , the Zugspitze . Kind regards from Garmisch- Partenkirchen .@@tokyokenchan
Thank you for watching this video too. :) I made a map of their locations for another video. www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=15aYRbf5Wbd-JTOMmk7ZLEgFCHkPq2tE&usp=sharing
Your videos are very helpful. Very informative and practical. But Japan in the summer was really hot. We still had a most enjoyable time though. Hope to be back soon and will keep checking on your channel! Thank you!
Thank you for watching. I'm glad to hear you had an enjoyable time in Japan. Yes, I like summer but the summer heat is finally finishing and I'm surprised how easy to walk around in day time. I hope you can visit in other seasons next time. :) Thank you again.
@@tokyokenchanNot true! I came back from Tokyo 5 days ago and watching your video! Wish I found your videos before I left. Very good information. Thank you for sharing.
Nice plan. For ueno if you are visiting the zoo it’s better to go before 3 or you won’t see the pandas. Any big attraction that require tickets like a museum or tower is better if make it first thing on the day’s plan.
Thank you for sharing. First time to visit Japan and these are great tips. Do you by any chance do a walking tour for the day? I’ve checked around and most of them are sold out on the days my sister and I would want to book
Hello Chris san, yes! I was going to tell you but I got one Sony camera finally. It's difficult and I'm struggling, found out how great iPhone is. 😅 It's delaying my videos and started to wonder if footage is important for information based contents. I need lots of practice and study. I will live with this one though. It's great you noticed it. Thank you!
Oh thanks so much for thinking about that@@tokyokenchan :) I have a Sony too, an A7rii mirrorless full frame, it's a little bit old now but it is so fun and can take some incredible shots. But yes, they are so technical, and kind of complicated to use on the fly without being a full-time pro, so can take quite a lot of practice to get used to. I used mine recently to take photos for my business site and my new headshot photo. But I was going to say your shots looked really nice. There's definitely a more artistic quality to the Sony ones, and I think they added a nice touch, another level of professionalism to your videos :)
Thanks Kenchan, perfect timing as I'm in Tokyo for another week haha I actually stayed at the Blossom Hibiya for the first few nights I was in Tokyo and it is an awesome hotel. Very close to Shimbashi, conbini literally outside the hotel - cannot ask for a better first hotel (or only hotel) to use in Tokyo.
What! Really? What a coincidence that you were staying at Blossom. Yes, it's a great location and Shimbashi is actually a very convenient place. I was thinking you were staying in Asakusa. How was Kyoto?
so concidene my ittinerary for December tour is like you share on video haha, Tokyo, Kamakura, and Mt Takao, I will visit that 3 area, hope it worth it.
Thanks for travel ideas. I tried really hard to get tickets to the Ghibli museum online on Lawson ticket sale day, asking hotel concierge and at conbini machine but no success. Maybe one day I can go.
Greater Tokyo Pass is a good alternative of the Tokyo Wide Pass. It covers Kawagoe, Nikko, Mt. Takao and Yokohama as well as all subways and other private lines. It has 3 days (trains only) and 5 days (with bus coverage). But Tokyo Wide pass got me to Hitachi seaside park, kawaguchiko and Ashikagawa flower park. Yes, I was super tired. Don't be like me. 😅 I was able to explore much of Tokyo since pretty much everyday I was outside Tokyo. 😂
Great that you used the full of the JR Tokyo Wide Pass. It's great the pass allows ride on limited express and Shinkansen. I haven't paid much attention to Great Tokyo Pass but it looks good if you don't use limited express and make short excursions for 5 days. Thank you for sharing your experience. 😄
Hello Kenchan! Thank you for another useful video of japan, but can I ask you to explain the new smartex shinkansen update per october? Since Im going to japan next year during the golden week, I want to reserve the tickets in advance 😂 Thank you!
Helpful video for our next year's plans for our trip to Tokyo! Just as helpful as your past videos on Kyoto, which we are visiting this month. One question regarding Tokyo: we are planning to fly into Haneda, stay one night at the airport hotel and then use the Keikyu line to go to Asakusa and stay at a hotel there. Can you see any problems with this basic plan? Thank you as always!
Kavin san, Dale san, thank you for your support for the video! I'm glad the video was helpful for your trip next year. :) As for the travel plan, I suppose you arrive Haneda late? In that case I think that is good idea. T3 has Royal Park in by the terminal, Villa Fontane across from the T3 in the new shopping mall, and Excel Tokyu in T2. In case your hotel is expensive or far away from the airport, you might feel that it was easier just to take train/taxi to Asakusa. They used to have a direct bus to Asakusa but hasn't resumed yet. I remember you asked about the rush hour in Tokyo before, so if you are trying to avoid that, you might be able to go to the last stop (T1 and 2) by Keikyu and take the train to Tokyo direction so you can get seat for sure if you wait. However, I understand it's overwhelming after a long flight, so I think it's still good idea to stay at airport hotel. Please let me know if you have any questions!
John san, thank you for writing a message. That sounds great you are visiting the bonsai gardens. You might know already but in the norther suburb of Tokyo, there is a Bonsai town in Omiya. www.bonsai-art-museum.jp/en/ I hope you have a great stay in Tokyo next January. :)
Konichiwa! I would like to know if I need to get a JR pass. I am traveling to the ff cities: Tokyo - Hakone (overnight) Hakone - Nagoya ( 1/2 day trip) Nagoya - Kyoto (4 days) Kyoto - Hiroshima - Kyoto (1/2 day trip) Kyoto - Nara - Osaka ( 1/2 day trip to Nara) Osaka - ITM Please let me know if a JR pass is worth it. I would like to get the e-romance car to Hakone and a local train to Osaka from Kyoto.
I’m loving your videos mate! Very informative and entertaining. I’m going to Japan in Jan/Feb for 23 nights and lots of places. I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to bring my Brompton folding bike with me to explore more and faster. But unsure about when getting into shops, shrines, museums, etc. What do you think? Is it worth it bringing it? Would love to hear your opinion. Cheers, Henry
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear it was entertaining. I think that sounds like a great idea to bring a bike to explore Tokyo, but some places don't have an official place to park a bike, so you might want to bring just in case and see how you feel in Tokyo. Hope you enjoy the winter trip. :)
@@tokyokenchan that’s great because if I come in May then I will be happy to see a match and I will buy my ticket as you mentioned one months before. Thank you so much.
Hi. Thank you for your message! I live in Tokyo so it will be mainly about Tokyo, but eventually I'd like to do more like vlogs introducing other parts of Japan, so I'm kind of trying to complete the basics now. 👍 This channel is still small so the issue here is, (unpopular place x unpopular channel ) = nobody watch. 😅 And somehow whole other videos view count also decrease if the newest video is not being watched. I have tons of places I like to introduce in Japan, so thank you for waiting!
the best 5 days itinerary is to not make any just pick a train station, spend 2~3 hours exploring and to the next one. Just don't forget the time for the last train :D. Thanks for the video Ken-chan
Serious question about using outside onsen during the day... isn't that causing a lot of UV damage to your skin? It just dawned on me I always slather sunscreen on before going outside- especially swimming. But there's no way that would be permissible at an onsen. I hate sunburns and don't want to get cancer 😢
Outdoor hot springs might not be so fun to take the bath under direct sun or in summer. It's always better at night or in winter snow. As you said, you can get sun burnt.
@@tokyokenchan thanks for the recommendation, it will be helpful for parents who have kids who are Pokémon Fanatics. We plan to be there for the last week of September for 14 days.
Great recommendations! The one thing to mention is that, for Ghibli museum, you can't get the ticket at the door, you need to book them way in advance 😉
@jenny3496 Oh I think it’s very easy in Tokyo. Either going to department stores or stations, or sometimes there is a clean public bathroom. Thank you for asking. :)
