These five builds will guarantee that you will have no trouble with crowd control, ever again!
Be an Artificer who throws out mines like candy, a Necromancer who injects virulent toxins into his enemies body to cause horrendous explosions.
Or be a Champion or Reaver who can spin enemies around like a tremendous Tornado! Crush crowds and make them unable to move an inch as a Rift Mage, or detonate that sweet weakness combo with the Templar!
These builds are definitely the most overpowered crowd control builds out there!
Here are the upgrades for those who need it:
Necromancer:
Barrier - Elegant Defense
Dispel - Transmute Magic
Fire Mine - Flaming Array
Horror - Terror
Walking Bomb - Virulent
Static Cage - Lightning Cage

Since many of you requested in the comments of my “5 Knight-Enchanter build” video, this time I marked the skills in order of importance as well. I usually don't mark them because I want you to have the freedom to pick whichever you want according to what you personally need at your level, but since you guys asked, I decided to mark them the way I would pick them. :) I also included the upgrades in the description for those who need it.

The Vortex of steel looks fun! Its like dragging all of the enemies into a washing machines and keep stirring them LOL. I will definitely start a new warrior and try it.

Yup, it is fun! :) Especially because it works on literally every non-static enemy. Even bosses. The most annoying enemies like the Terrors for example can be dragged to you even if they try to get away by jumping into the ground. Fantastic cc skill.

Man, your videos are gold. You don't know how useful and helpful they are. Thanks to you I've learned a whole new world of combinations in this game. But I'm wondering, will you make similar videos about Dragon age 2?. Because there are no a lot of information out there, and videos like yours would be great. Anyways, great job, you are awesome!

Hey A Kis Herceg, I have not seen so far a Tempest Build from you. Do you have an aversion to the specialization? ^^ When can we expect some builds :P ? Great video by the way. Informative as usual! By the way, what class and specialization and form of your countless builds is your all time favourite? :D

I do have a Tempest build, it is one of my earliest: The Dual-Wield Alchemist. :) I do plan to make a video about one that is a replica of the Undying Whirlwind Artificer but with Tempest skills added to the active skills. :)

I love the Champion and Artificer builds the most. I really can’t pick! :) I love all of them! But if I would have no choice but to pick, then I would go with the Golden Knight. I had so much fun with it, I really did not want to stop playing it. :)

Hey, I got some updates on the builds we were talking about! Starting with the bad news: even though I did get the immolate on hit (just took some save farming trial rewards), for whatever reason, it doesn’t function as a detonator. Furthermore, it didn’t seem to deal damage based off the activating hit, so rip to that. I also found that explode on kill doesn’t seem capable of activating masterworks like this one or hidden blades either, so that kinda sucks) However, the good news is that I did try a similar set up with mind blast on hit, and I honestly think this one might put the Templar to shame! So either sleeping (KP or KB) or stunning (Antivan fire), and then hitting with an explosive shot, I’ve been able to get combo hits between 10 and 28k damage for each combo, followed by explode on kill usually in the 6-14k range. That said, the higher end of that spectrum was doubling up on pitch/Antivan grenades for the full damage bonus. The only downside is that it can’t be done remotely (mind blast is always centered on the caster), so no fun with longshot, but even so, the damage is enough to nearly one shot Hakkonite fade rifts. What makes this even better though, is how short mind blast’s cooldown is. It’s like having spell purge, but as often as every 8 seconds! Lastly, I did a little more careful observation of Elgar’nan Enaste’s basic attacks with a rune, and I think I found an answer. By swapping to a lightning rune, I managed to differentiate between what hits were coming from where. Turns out there are six hits in total. What I think is happening is a scaled down explosive shot is cast for ever basic. This explains why I’m often seeing two physical damage hits, a large fire damage hit and three rune (electricity now) hits. Furthermore, pincushion stacks can definitely be applied to more than one enemy at a time, as after I use the combo on a crowd, when I turn to deal with any promoted stragglers, my basics are near 2k per main hit and 400 for the rune hits (7k total!), and abilities are off the wall
@AKisHerceg
@AKisHerceg 2 года назад
Very nice! I will try the Mindblast on hit with this combo as soon as I have time, because it sounds pretty fun! :) Currently I was trying my best to one-shot the Highland Ravager. As in: killing it with one connected hit. I played around with this idea for a long time(- Is it possible? - If yes, how? etc.) but I never actually tried out the possibilities. The result is pretty amusing(and silly), but still... It is TECHNICALLY possible, since I think I managed to achieve the highest damage ever recorded in DAI. Currently making a video about it.

@@AKisHerceg sounds fun, my first guess would be one of those to the death + pommel strike or combat roll after waiting 10 hours set ups. I know someone did get a 500k pommel strike on a random mob they cheesed and left the game running for a while (coincidentally, also a number I’ve been able to surpass with my assassin combo’s mark of death detonation - I’ve actually accidentally killed the ravager before the mark’s detonation once or twice. I had to level up and keep trials on so it’s hp would grow to 410k). If you’re going with champion setup, I suppose 30% berserk and 30% on no hit would be good options for a reliable set up. However, if you’re trying the 1 in 10 options, walking bomb would be pretty great too. I never tried it since it doesn’t sound too appealing to wait long enough for the damage. I was also thinking a similar setup could be done with a reaver at near 0 hp, ring of pain, all buffs, berserk and WB. You could even do two walking bombs with different damage, or hidden blades (if it’s damage scales with hit damage). With chromatic gs, deepstalker sigil, pitch grenade and mighty offense tonic, it might even get close to the 350k or so hp the ravager has. Since half or more of the hits are elemental and bypass armor, it’d probably do well. Not sure there’s a viable Templar boss one shot build, and unless you’ve found something truly broken, I doubt mages can. I’d even be hard pressed to say that a rogue could kill the ravager in a single attack unless you somehow had a full party buffing them. I would be curious to see how much damage one could do after dying, being revived w/ desperation and Cassandra dying to grant 300% bonus damage + all the other buffs of stealth, poison blades, horn of valor, blessed blades etc. perhaps with a bosun blade build it might be doable. Well, I sure overthought that! Whatever it is you’re working on, I’m looking forward to it!
@AKisHerceg
@AKisHerceg 2 года назад
@@jordanwill7233 Yup, your first guess was correct. I actually tried every other thing you mentioned, but To the Death is the only way. It’s actually pretty intriguing that you need a w&s warrior to one-shot the dragon(the lowest overall dps class in the game), because the Ravager hits so hard after 10 minutes, it can one-shot you if you don’t use Shield Wall. Problem is the lizard jumps around and keeps getting out of the range of the skill. So this far I have been unable to one hit kill the thing with my CR(can’t use PS because a TH warrior dies without SW). I did manage to kill Gurd and Saarath with a single hit though. I did not see a number on Saarath(I used Pitch Grenades to make him stay still), but Gurd got a nice 3 million damage after 4 hours of him not being able to decide who to target lol. I also made him hit my back with the Bear Mauls the Wolves passive so I only take 1 damage, but that did not work because although his physical damage was just 1 the whole time, his cold enchanted sword’s damage kept rising(initially it also only dealt one but after some time it started growing). Which is pretty intriguing because it seems that there is a difference between elemental damage and physical damage when it comes to this ability. :)
@jordanwill7233
@jordanwill7233 2 года назад
@@AKisHerceg haha, of course you’d have already tried my other ideas! That’s some very interesting info about Bear Mauls the Wolves tho. Could it have something to do with defenses or armor rating? I know elements bypass armor, something Champions bolster quite a bit, so I wouldn’t be surprised if physical has a higher threshold it needs to get to before it does more than one damage. Warcry is also a good option for when you know you’re going to take a hit in physical damage but can’t avoid it since it triples armor rating I believe. Also, wouldn’t that passive also work on a two handed in the same way pincushion works for dual daggers? I know it does for warriors resolve at least. On the note of my last idea (primarily) about using revival with the desperation upgrade, I wonder about making a berserker build with 3 mages with (duped) ring of doubt to remain invisible casting revival every time the character falls to ensure they never die and always have a 200% damage bonus. You could have one every 10 seconds if the mages did nothing but wait, which is just enough to cycle through to keep them alive. They could also have flashpoint, however to negate cooldown times. Only problem is I’m not sure ai can refrain from basic attacks once you attack with them. Wouldn’t be a problem for warriors, but maybe for rogues. Granted, with that kind of damage bonus, I doubt any fight would last longer than 6 revives! I’m picturing a rogue out Templar one combo build, or a reaver that never stops ring of pain and dragon rage, stuff like that. That also spawns the idea of a team of mages that perpetually cast revival to maintain the 200% damage bonus. You’d just need to offset two so that half way through their being revived, their cast of revived on the other two expire and those two die, needing to be revived. With a team of four, ai could be set to reserve enough mana and they could trade off letting you play as whichever you want, reviving when necessary. Thinking I’d the inquisitor is a necromancer, the offset would naturally occur thanks to simulacrum.
@AKisHerceg
@AKisHerceg 2 года назад
@@jordanwill7233 Yes, the shield passive indeed works on a TH warrior as well. But the problem is that with the Ravager, she does other things too not just hit you like Gurd(Gurd basically just swings his sword at you non-stop, because every other attack requires certain checkmarks, for example his frost explosion requires him to lose 1/3rd of his health, so he never performs it, nor his range grab, because you stay close to him). The Ravager on the other hand blasts you with Fire Mine, Flame attack, Fire Ball, etc. These attacks are aoe(plus they apply a status effect) so you can't really just turn you back to only receive the 1 pt damage(even if let's say you only get 1pt fire dmg from the initial Fire Ball, the aoe will still apply burning damage(quite high I might add because of To the Death), which will not be affected by the passive's dr bonus because it is a status effect, not a flank attack). But as I said the biggest problem is that she keeps jumping out of range...annoying lizard. So a berserker build where you are the damager and you kick ass while your mages keep reviving you and giving you that neat 200% bonus. Awesome idea! I also played with the idea, but during some basic testing I encountered quite a few problems that made this kind of build too annoying to play. At least for me. Sadly, you can't disable the basic attacks of your team. I mean you can, but only if you completely disable their AI. And that way they can't use tactics, so you can't favorite Revival(you have to switch on them and activate the spell yourself). And as you suspected, they would constantly break Stealth with their basic attacks. In fact, I am not sure if this only happens to me, but I noticed that RoD, during combat often only puts you into Stealth if you cast an offensive spell. This happens to not only to my Inquisitor but my AI team as well. I gave the ring to Dorian for my ai mage team test and I kept noticing that he was basically never in Stealth unless he used Energy Barrage(which instantly put him into Stealth). Horror, Walking Bomb, Static Cage did not work as offensive spells either for gaining Stealth. Pretty odd. Flashpoint is good, but that needs critical hits, so your mages need to be able to attack to keep activating it. And based on my experience with RoD and Energy Barrage, I think EB would be perfect spell for them: EB not only instantly puts them into Stealth(although they would break it immediately after their first basic attack), but it's also an auto-Flashpoint activation. I think the best is to let them use EB, Revival and Barrier with cooldown or mana regen amulets. The rogues or warriors should be getting all the aggro, because of the high damage. Rogues can use Andraste's Sacrifice - basically War Cry on hit. From what I can tell, it is just like any other masterwork with an around 10% chance, which becomes a guaranteed taunt with Spinning Blades. However, once your rogue or warrior dies, they will immediacy lose all aggro and the enemies will go medieval on your mages butt, especially because: The Revival animation... It's is so damn long! I tried using the Kitty's Collar amulet, but many times stronger enemies kill you again because you are still stuck in your Revival animation(of course if they shift aggro to your mages that is fine, you can survive because they won't target you, but again the enemies will gain a free 3-5 sec to basically attack your mages with no real opposition). You also can't use HP during the animation, so any enemy attacking from a range can really mess up your day. Your mages can keep resurrecting you, but you keep dying as soon as you get up, from some arrow or magical bolt. So the main thing with this build would be to make sure you die when you need to and your mages stay alive without your help, even if the enemies are going hard on them. The last one is also a great idea, but honestly I do not think the AI is capable of executing it(especially if you would plan to put some high powered spells on them to gain full advantage of the 200% dmg boost). Plus your teammates would need to die in every 10 sec for a continuous 200% dmg boost, so you can't spec them with good survivability. It is pretty hard to get "death" right... though. Most of the times I think it would be too early, or too late. If your mage dies a bit too early, or twice in a row(without going for survivability this is very easy to achieve), your AI rotation will be completely off, because they used up Revives that they should have reserved for another party member. With a better tactical menu this could work but not with only 3 options... PS: It is pretty late, so please forgive me in case I misunderstood something while reading your comment. :)

@AKisHerceg 2 года назад
@@Cobernikus The Blade of Tidarion. :) Yes, there are more powerful weapons, but I just love that it is a sword which can be used by mages. Plus the fact that with this Blade, you can shoot 2 different types of projectiles with Energy Barrage if you put a different rune in it than the weapon's base element. So if you make it from fire and put a cold rune in it, you can have 12+12 projectiles with Energy Barrage. 12 fire and 12 cold. The projectiles also apply element based status effects: Chilled for frost, Burning for fire and Shocked for Lightning. Not to mention, with Energy Barrage's "Energy Bombardment" upgrade, this will also apply the negative resistance for both elements. So if you make your weapon from cold and put a lightning rune in it then you will get all of these negative effects on the target after one Energy Barrage: -24% target frost resistance(Energy Bombardment), -24% target electricity resistance(Energy Bombardment), -20% target resistance for all 3 elements(Shocked status effect), 25% reduced movement speed(Chilled effect, which will also allow you to deal 1000% more damage with Winter's Grasp). So in short: It is cool, it makes your Energy Barrage an insanely powerful spell, and it is handy when you run out of mana as well, since it works like any other melee weapon - you gain mana back with each hit on an enemy. :)

Flask of frost and spinning blades(second upgrade) is also great CC imo along with the fact that it can spread DoT and other disabling effects. With proper planning/setup, spinning blades can set up aoe detonators by turning single target CC like pommel bash, winter grasp, knockout powder ect to aoe. with that kind of set up moves, like whirlwind/hidden blades(no witnesses) and other aoe detonators get a huge boost in damage value.

@@AKisHerceg personally feel like tempest is the best control tank in the game, with flask of frost, leeching poisons and lost in the mist, along with high mobility+ andrastes sacrifice necklace, he can hold aggro and rotate survival/control skills pretty easily.
@AKisHerceg
@AKisHerceg 2 года назад
@@LaTetso Actually, I re-built my "Undying Whirlwind Artificer" with Tempest skills a while ago(I mixed it with my Dual-Wield Alchemist Tempest build), specifically for solo gameplay, but I tested it with a team as well. I was interested to see if it can work, since the Tempest with the Flask of Fire can work similarly to an Artificer when it comes to dealing damage(ability spamming). I plan to make a video about it. I use Spinning Blade for cc against mobs(just like I did with my Artificer), Deathblow, Throwing Blades and Flask of Fire for high damage on bosses(with the Arti I did not have Flask of Fire of course, I just used the enhanced cooldowns and made it work), and naturally Toxic Cloud with Lost in the Mist for survivability(+ Poisoned Weapons to create clouds from corpses) with the Amulet of Barrier. Plus I use Flask of Frost mostly for those annoying blocking enemies who deflect Spinning Blades, Throwing Blades and even Deathblow. Pretty solid build. :) One disadvantage is that I can't just spam Toxic Cloud like with the Arti, I need to use Poisoned Weapons(which I did not need with my Arti, I picked up Flank Attack instead) and kill fast to create more clouds for that sweet Elusive. I think I could find a better skill for that slot, but I must go with Poisoned Weapons with this build. However, its one big advantage over the the Arti is really the Flask of Frost completely clowning blocking enemies. With the Arti I had to use Flank Attack to get behind them(but sometime they can block that as well, so I had to use Stealth - I could have picked Spike Trap as well, it is good for cc, but I felt like that skill did not fit the build). With the Tempest and its Flask of Frost I don't need Flank Attack, nor Stealth, just smash Flask of Frost and start shattering. Flask of Frost can be a good emergency exit as well when you lose all your Elusives. The only problem is that I have no more room for Flask of Lightning! I love that skill, but I just can't make it fit - unless I decide not to use Mark of the Rift... Still, I think I can manage without it. Lightning Flask is good for giving you that tiny extra time to think things over(plus that Lightning damage with the upgrade), but with a fast paced build like this, it's not really essential. :)
@LaTetso
@LaTetso 2 года назад
@@AKisHerceg I think the arti would be a better solo build for sure, for me the spinning blades tempest was built for a support role, to spread frozen, stuns, sleeps or paralysis which would lead to huge detonators for the team. Flask of fire+spinning blades air used to continuously cc+detonate mobs till death e.g, your mage uses winters grasp-spinning blade-mighty blow detonation- lightning bolt-spinning blade-whirlwind detonation ect, and you keep going, just gotta pay attention to when an enemy is cc'ed, by favouring certain skills on each char you can setup a rotation, or manual the start. It works wonders with a pull of the abyss setup, and ofc poisoned weapons, toxic cloud lost in the mist adds to that support role along with a small DoT. And this is me personally, but I dont like using flask of lightning XD I like seeing Sera use it, it looks cool af but I'm not keen on slomo mode myself, I'd prefer speed ups like with beserker in DA:2

Do you have sometimes problem with mines? When you throw them and they start to fly...
@AKisHerceg
@AKisHerceg 2 года назад
Yes. For the longest time, I thought that this is a glitch, but I figured out that it might not be one. The mines flying in the sky "phenomena" usually happens when an enemy is preforming a "blocking" animation(and sometimes this animation is not visible to the player). So basically the enemy "blocks" your skill(just like it would block any other skills) to which the animation reacts in a glitchy way - instead of making the mines completely disappear, they will be placed upside down. And since they can't land upside down, they will look like they fly away. So basically it is not a glitch - the Elemental Mines skill, just like many others, can be blocked by enemies - which is weird since realistically they should not be able to block it, but sadly they can.

@@proudmoore5254 Yeah, it can work, but usually I only pick one fire spell: Fire Mine. If you want to have fun with other fire spells, sure you can use them but in reality, the only fire spell you need is Fire Mine. :)

@@AKisHerceg I tried to combine storm with rift but it seems that I dont receive any mana back :/ such a shame personally I find lighting cage fun.

@@proudmoore5254 Yup, you won't. Shocked status on Weakened enemies will crate a special sleep combo which removes the mana leech effect that you get from weakened enemies. However the special sleep is a pretty good combo, especially if you detonate it into a nightmare(huge spirit damage plus enemies will be terrified and run away for a few sec) with any eldritch detonator like Mindblast, Dispel or even Energy Barrage! Check out what my Solas can do with combos like Nightmare, Shatter, Discharge etc. in my Combo Guide video! Pretty wild. :)

Kinda lame that stonefist isn't an AOE. Shattering crowds when they're frozen would have been great. Aside from Mind blast, I don't think mages have another detonator for shattering.

Stonefist can be aoe with the Shatterstone upgrade. It will gain a 4 meter wide detonation radius and the ability to weaken enemies. :) The only mage ability which can shatter is Stonefist. Mindblast will detonate a basic combo on frozen enemies, since it is an Eldritch detonator, just like Energy Barrage, Dispel and Immolate.

Nice Video dude I can't decide between Necro or Rm. I tried KE but i dont like it because is so op i think its boring after a while

I recommend Rift Mage then. Never boring, because you have insane cc and its always fun to thrown crowds around. But to be honest, every class and spec becomes very op after a while if you spec them correctly.

How did you get that many skill points for the build? Crestwood amulet of power bug?
@AKisHerceg
@AKisHerceg 2 года назад
All of these builds are endgame builds(Trespasser). I used the maximum amount of skills available at level 27(so no bug, glitch or anything needs to be exploited - just using a human character with all the available extra skills).

@@AKisHerceg What would you suggest as Masterworks for a Rift Mage using your build in this video? I'm going with the FT Plush Fustian Velvet (Hidden Blades, x5 hits), but can't really decide on the other one for my armor.
