Great video! Right on time. We are building a dresser right now and we couldn't find any pulls that we liked. Great tip on running the end grain through first! Thanks for the tips!
I'm with you. I like the last one the best. I suppose you could knock out a bunch of these once you get the setups the way you want. Then you'll have them on hand as needed for future shop projects. For that last one, could you cut a notch on the table saw first then just make one pass on the router table to cut the curved profile inside? Would that avoid the need for that extra pass on the router table to clean up what was left by the rounded bit?
Omg I love your videos I saw your video where you fix the playground you are really good at making things and you inspire me so much and I’m also new to your channel and I already love your videos
Built my xcarve table off of your plans for your xcarve table. I did a little different set up underneath to fit my needs. Now I need some drawer pulls. Why didn't I look here first? LOL
Great vid but what I really like was the cast iron router table. Mine is getting a little wore out. Went to take a look at it and its not available, only the mdf one. I'll keep an eye out for it.
The first one could have benefitted with the first idea, use the fostner bit to make shallow finger recesses on the bottom side; it would accommodate for older folks with weak grips.
Thanks man, you just saved me from buying some generic crap on Amazon, and making a cool custom pull i can be proud of. Great to the point no music bs vid!
Thanks, I just got done building Queen Captains Bed (Storage). I wanted to make some wood pulls because I knew most traditional Drawer pulls would eventually get damaged from getting in and out of the Bed. I liked the one cut at 15 degrees. Since the Drawer face was 33 inches I made the Pulls 11 inches about 1/3 the width and looks good. Used some reclaimed wood from old High school Benches from the auditorium bleachers that I got from a Demolition job.
I'm planning some drawer handles for my workshop soon. Already had a design in mind that is the same as no.2 but the end bevelled the other way so you are less likely to catch on it when walking past.
I like the first and third ones most. Did you consider hollowing out the first pull to make it a bit more functional? I was thinking you could do it with a plunge router before starting your cuts?
I've only got experience with this JET model. The dust collection, fence and lift are well built. There are a lot of new options out there. Hopefully this gave you a little better idea of what the JET has since that's all I can help you with on that one.
Nice job amigo! I'm currently building Johnny's outfeed / assembly table and then on to Jay's mitre saw table.....lots of drawers that need lots of pulls!
I just added 5 drawers to my shop in my miter saw station. I ran out of time in the shop today, so I just searched making drawer pulls to see some ideas. Very nice. I had thought about the 2nd one with 15 degree bevels on both top and bottom. Simple - yet functional. Tomorrow they will be made!
@8:02 “leave a comment down below, let me know which one you like the best” Okay @1:29 I like the way it looks @2:44 this is definitely my favorite @2:57 “I like it a lot” @4:06 “I like this design and if you angled the outsides it could look pretty cool, too” @6:08 “I definitely like the full profile better” @6:25 “I really Ike how this one turned out” @6:26 “this one is actually my favorite” @7:31 “I really like how this last one turned out” @7:33 “for sure my favorite” You’re asking me??
Awesome door pulls brad exactly what I was looking for on my shop cupboards, also that Jet router table looked sweet. Wonder if I can buy just the lift insert ?
Cool video straight to the point and gave a whole bunch of options. Thanks for the instructions and inspiration I'm going to be making a coffee table that I'm considering putting a removable box or full length removable drawer/tray in would like to make my own pulls. Helps a lot!
Beautiful work, Brad. Those things can be expensive. Always nice to be able to make them yourself. Good idea for a video, I'll save this for later. Thanks buddy!
Used your idea today and added angled bar pulls to my drawer set up under my drill press table. (4 drawers) Works great looks great and was very easy to do. Thanks again for the video. This was a very quick easy project.
