This is the perfect video for me today. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to drive to a place in another state, which will involve highways 💀 I don't like driving btw

Took me a couple months but made it through all of this guy's and Mr. Nightmare's videos. Good channels.

Lone driver, long journey, dead of night, dimly-lit deserted highway; all adds up to a great setting for a riveting horror story. All the more so when it's actually true. It captures something thriller movies do not.

I wish dash cams were more prevalent. I’ve heard so many of those white pickup stories across multiple channels across multiple states! I want to see video footage of this shit!!

Story three I know exactly where the person stopped. It’s a place called The Tamarack. I live in West Virginia and stop there every time I travel to Myrtle Beach

When the two chicks first saw the pickup truck across the road, they should've turned around, and especially after they saw him using a walkie-talkie. They only have a range of a few miles, tops, so they knew he was speaking to someone close by. Better to go back where they knew what to expect than forward into the unknown.

Good timing. Next week the campground where my dad has seasonal membership opens up! It's about 2.5 hours away and I try to go every weekend. We also have a road trip to Tennessee planned in June. (We're in NY state) The most horrifying thing I usually see on the highways is the way others drive!

The first story kinda failed to consider that 18 wheelers are a completely different beast to drive than a car, or even an RV, when he talks about the dude stealing the truck. I have several friends with class A CDLs, but one of them just finished school about 6 months ago with a manual A certification for the challenge. Your average crack head wouldn't be able to even get it in gear if it were manual, but they'd probably crash less than a mile out if they were able to leave the scene in an auto.

Hmmmm... that last story... could be on the "stretch" of US1 up from the Keys to Miami... Everglades on each side... or I75 out by Miccosuki also known as Alligator Alley kuz... more Everglades... n gators 😅😅😅... those are the 2 main hwys both on the outer limits of Miami with gators... 🤔🤔🤔 at least that I can think of... both those roadways back then didn't have fencing or dividers so the gators roamed...

Story 4 terrified me. I was born and raised in Albuquerque and had to look up the road you were talking about and I have a story you definately unlocked from my childhood. About a sunset and more than likely my childhood imagination. (If you don't want to read the whole thing you can go to context or the last part of the story under context and read there) Here's my story. (Early 2000s) My family (grandparents, mom 3 brothers, an aunt, and myself) Would drive to Lubbock, Texas for Easter when I was a kid. I was maybe 7-10 at the time . We would load up 2-3 vehicles (depending on how many people we were picking up) and head out midafternoon if not a little later most of the time from Albuquerque. We would use NM-55 or another road in the area to get to Roswell (mainly using some of the backroads going through Torrance, and Lincoln counties) We would pick up family in Roswell to pick up more family just an aunt and Uncle and my 3 cousins. If they wanted to / could come. We would always go out to eat with everyone in Roswell. before departing again. When it was time to continue our journey an aunt, uncle or one of the 3 cousins would jump in an existing vehicle if we didn't have room our family from Roswell would use one of their cars. It was the early 2000s so my cousins and I would love playing the Pokémon games with the little headlight for the Gameboy on top when it got dark. We have a lot and I mean a lot of family that live in Lubbock and the surrounding areas. More would be making their journeys in from Texas or around the country. To make this short we would have Easter and say goodbye. On the way back we would drop off our little family from Roswell. (Story continues after short context) For context NM-55 and the surrounding areas there's nothing absolutely nothing. Dirt and rocks occasionally you'll get a front gate to a property the gates look really old and rustic. At night it's extremely dark out there and you spend most of the time (if not all) using your headlights. The road lights? (if any) are few and far between. (At least when I was a kid) If y'all have ever drove through rural East Texas it's more green and very well lit up. A lot prettier. This stretch of highway is NOT. Story continued: We had dropped off our family in Roswell. If it wasn't dark it would soon be and we still had to drive back to Albuquerque which is 3-4 more hours. We head out but we had 3 vehicles this time meaning the meaning there were somewhat less of us in each car. I remember telling my mom right before we left that I was tired so I slept a good bit during maybe the first 30 minutes to an hour. Until I woke up. It was just my mom and I in this car the others were spread across the 2 other vehicles. Maybe they thought they didn't want to wake me up? IDK. I hadn't looked at the window yet because I was still laying down I believe I asked my mom for a road snack while I was looking for my Gameboy. In the backseat. I finally looked outside and it was dark. Made small chat with my mom and it got darker but the sky had a blood red tint mixed with black in it. (we had to be on that stretch of highway or in surrounding area) It was probably the scariest sunset I've ever seen the surrounding areas were still so dark and eerie. If y'all have ever seen Jeepers Creepers 2: it FELT like these "things" or people were watching our car constantly at least every minute or 2. I remember asking my mom is there anything outside on the road? TBH I don't remember her exact response but she was calm. I WASN'T! For the rest of that ride I laid down and played on my gameboy. It's amazing what your mind can tell you as a kid. Looking back at it now I don't think there was anything on the side of the road. I think that was me being a scared kid. And the back drop of the most terrifying looking sky while driving on NM-55 and/or the surrounding areas. Truly nightmare fuel. It doesn't mean my story is related to the exact stretch of NM-55 but I can say its definately super close in the area listed in story 4. (If this gets attention I'll probably come back and edit stuff I missed and comment to whoever wants to chat)

One of my good buddies offered me a job as a truck driver, i turned him down mainly because of stories like these! #RipshyRocks 🗣‼✨

This is my new favorite horror stories channel now. No extra sfx, just ambient background and narration. I would be awake again when I hear door knocking sfx, screams, escalating music etc on other channels. Yes, I listen to horror stories before sleep. It helps me sleep better. Those extra SFX don't 💀
