He said 12-15 seconds to install the shift knob. It took me 30 seconds. I am still trying to get my money back but flyin Miata is giving me a hard time.
@@dohabanditI did the math and long story short go for it. But if you want even more horsepower for less do a ls3 swap, thats a dream. Unfortunately a lot of companies aren’t making kits so finding the right one can be a challenge.
Sway bars and wider wheels/tires all day for the ND. I have 8" Kogekis on mine with Pilot Sport 4s, and with the sway bars I feel so much more confident driving the car closer to the limit. Both make an already fun car into the perfect handling small sports car IMO.
@@FlyinMiataVideolooking forward to it! Specifically wanted to know if there are dimension or electrical changes to ND3 and validating if the mods still work. I recently had to work with cravenspeed so that the ND2 platypus can be updated to fit ND3
@@johnreddyzhang I thought the FSM highlights would have some of these details but it seems to be more broad for the generations and not detailed on the facelifts. I guess we'll have to wait. If you get a chance to look at the highlights, it's some pretty good stuff.
@@FlyinMiataVideoI’m looking for a trunk spoiler too. How did you do the install with the shark fin in place? Carbon Miata says, “This spoiler will interfere with the shark fin antenna.”
@andynickles7505 This isn't something we've tried before, and really isn't in our wheelhouse. Making changes like that on the ND with all the CAN Bus wiring would likely be a huge headache.
Great to know there's a valved exhaust option for the ND out there. I currently own a Swift Sport with an XForce varex exhaust and it's so convenient that I'd want the same for my future ND
I have Rays ZE40 17x7.5 wheels but have not bought tires yet. Would you recommend 215/45r17 or 225/45r17 size? I don’t track the car so more emphasis on daily drivability/comfort.
You won't notice any difference in drivability/comfort going to wider tires. If you want to keep the car fun for street driving stay with 205, it makes it much easier to break out the rear end in corners at lower speeds. The wider you go the more grip you have, so the more speed you can carry into and out of corners. This makes you better in track, or close to the limit driving, which you shouldn't be doing on the street. 205 section tires will give you enough grip to carry speeds well in excess of the posted speed limits on US roads; going wider will push those limits out even farther. If you're driving on a track, that's great! Your times will absolutely improve with wider tires. On the street you should absolutely not be worried about times. 205s will keep you more honest with what's appropriate for the road where there are so many variables you can't control, and keep the car fun and carefree. Improving the handling of the car with suspension upgrades, (sway bars first, springs/coilovers second) will eliminate the sloppy/floatiness of the car and actually improve your driving experience at all speeds and in all situations.
@@jgalt99 Thanks for the info. Wouldn’t 205 on a 7.5 inch wheel be stretched a bit though? Stock is 205 on a 7 inch wheel. I thought stretched tires means a more firm sidewall which leads to a less compliant ride (but more immediate turn-in).
@@LegoBuildersMOC It will be stretched a bit, but I don't think you would notice a difference on the street. I run 215 winter tires and 225 summer tires, the 215s are on a 7in wheel and the 225s are on an 8. They both have the same feel on the road until you start pushing the corners, and then the difference is night and day, but only in terms of grip. My suspension mods made a much bigger difference in terms of handling and feel. You could run up to 225s on a 7.5 without any fitment issues, and the major difference in street driving you'll experience is grip. On the track more grip is faster corners and always better. On the street it just depends how you drive and what you want. Many people regret losing the slightly slower but more fun feeling of having the stock tire width because you can easily out-grip your torque in a Miata with wider tires.
Can you confirm that the Mazda sequential rear indicator kit will not work with the ND3 (2024) MX5, please? Does it not physically fit in the new rear light cluster?
This video for the NA will, for the most part, apply to the NBs: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-77bxLPzzIAs.html&pp=ygUZdG9wIDUgbmEgbW9kcyBmbHlpbiBtYWl0YQ%3D%3D
Already have a Borla S-Type axle back muffler on my ND2. If I wanted a bit more power and bit more volume out the exhaust what would be my next change? Catless header with stock mid pipe? Or keep the stock header and swap to catless/high flow cat midpipe with a resonator?
For us, there's not enough HP difference running a catless vs a high flow cat setup to justify the bad smell and other concerns the feds have. If you're after some more power, an upgraded midpipe should help your current setup.
Sway bars are specifically intended to address body roll. They also have the nice side effect of allowing you to fine-tune your oversteer/understeer balance easily.
I seem to remember you had a front brake duct solution early in the ND era that was essentially a “bolt in” where the running lights go on the lower fascia. I don’t see that on the website any longer. Was that not as effective as you expected or was it just not getting sales?
It was removed due to slow sales - Verus still sells a very similar kit that's just as effective: www.verus-engineering.com/shop/a0114a-full-brake-cooling-kit-miata-mx5-nd-386?category=7#attr=
It's not so much the offset as the design of the wheel. Our Kogeki 15" wheels fit over stock ND brakes - including the +36 15x8. If you have the Brembos, our 15x9 fits over those as well.
I’m adding a front brace to my sport trim car and now I’m wondering which aftermarket front shock tower braces are at least as good as the factory one or should I get a factory one?
It looks like our STB is sold out, flyinmiata.com/products/fm-nanb-shock-tower-brace?_pos=8&_sid=6847fe72f&_ss=r. However, if you find one with a similar design in that there is no pivot point at the connection from the bar to the shock mount, it should work well.
@nickboluki4221 You are welcome! We haven't had access to a 2024 model for testing yet, so we don't know for sure whether the LED running light strip will fit a 2024. It should, but if you purchase one and it doesn't fit your 2024, we'll cover the return shipping and issue you a refund.
@@FlyinMiataVideo Thank you very much. I live in Europe and It would be unfair to you to place an order and let you stand for the return fees if it doesn't fit the 2024 model. However I would be grateful if you could kindly let me know once you have mounted it on a 2024
@@nickboluki4221 To make a quick correction, it seems that the existing kits on our website will only fit 2016-2023 models. However, we do have a version that will fit 2024 models that is coming, but we are waiting for inventory to arrive. Stay tuned!
Little to none. And then you'll have to live with a smelly car and a constant check engine light and emissions failure. There's no good reason to do it.
We sure do! Some countries have some exceptions though and the order has to be over $200 or so. If you put the items you want in your shopping cart, move to the shipping page and we should give you a shipping quote for them.
We're located in Palisade, Colorado. We no longer service vehicles, unfortunately - but we're still happy to answer any Miata questions you might have.
