The feint to the mid-section followed by the hook to the head was one of Mike Tyson's favorite shots....except he would actually connect to the body and then throw the hook because he was so freaking fast...usually followed by a uppercut from the other hand...then a overhand shot...basically a four punch combination.

the body shot fallowed by the hook might be a good idea but what they forgot to show in this video is that you should duck under when delivering shot to the body. otherwise it will be pretty easy for an opponent to hit you with a jab also it should be mentioned that your lead leg should be outside of his lead leg. and it is a good idea to move his hand away to the inside with your lead hand so it is no threat to you. with your left hand hiss cross is more powerful than his jab but it is also slower so you might have better chance of hitting him before he hits you but you still need to duck under while delivering shot to the body be outside of his rear punch and it might be helpful to move his arm with your lead punch (although if you are far away outside regardless if you are using your right or your left it isn't always necessary but it often is a good idea) A left punch to the body will hit his liver doing lots of damage and then following it with a left hook that is a good idea as well. but once again usually you need to duck under his punch while delivering shot to the body.

its all about getting the energy into the opponents body. One way I like to look at it is "displacing the opponents mass with your fist and forearm". Basically whatever space your opponent's head/neck occupies, replace it with your limb. With the right technique/force they will have to move or get crushed/K.O.d.
@kissofthecobra3761
@kissofthecobra3761 Год назад
What this proves is you don't need fancy moves to end a fight. Actually, just understanding natural human physiology and kinetic energy is enough to make these moves work. A lot of what I've trained in is similar to what you see here. These are good simple backup moves that everyone should know. While I normally would stay away from courses like this from what I see in this short demonstration, I have a feeling that it's not bullshito but real-world knowledge from high-class martial art instructors.
@kissofthecobra3761
@kissofthecobra3761 Год назад
@Remain Nameless No, I'm saying I have trained extensively in various martial arts and I know how human physiology works. These methods are not based on assumption but on actual martial art principles. I find it funny when people claim certain methods do not work without extensive training. These methods come down to personal training LOL, you are not going to learn top-level kickboxing are what have you from instructional DVDs. I only commented on them from my own personal experience and normally would never even consider any of these self-help DVDs/ Also did you buy the set and are you going to tell me about how it's all Bullshito? Fine, that's you but also yes you can strike the neck for KOs even in the ring so I don't know what you are talking about. Some of the top-tier kickboxers have KO'ed trained combatants with kicks to the neck. The neck is a very sensitive organ and with the right training you can even do chokes that will KO a person in literally seconds and can kill a person potentially in a minute are less no joke. And that's very realistic, there have been cases even of abusive spouses that have killed their partners with simple chokes you can learn in BJJ. I'm not going to bore you further feel free to research it on your own accord.
@kissofthecobra3761
@kissofthecobra3761 Год назад
@Remain Nameless Only If you can't make sense out of it. I can't speak for the whole DVD but you mention boxing so you don't think a cross to the body is a good way to get a person to react with a flinch while you then return with a hook to the jaw? I honestly see nothing out of range only the assumption that there is an easy fix. If you want to learn combat just go learn a system in person it's a lot better than any DVD can do. In fact, If I have to put my two cents in I'll add that many of the techniques are not going to be of value without prior martial art experience. A lot of people just can't throw a boxing punch and as easy as it is for me to do a right cross still I fill that you would be hard-pressed to think that a DVD can cover everything. It can't and it's unrealistic to assume it can. A right cross is really easy for me but do I think the techniques in the video are pointless just because some Joe Blow isn't going to know how to throw a right cross? NO. If you think this is bad you haven't seen anything. Trust me there are some really cheesy self-defense tapes out there. But I digress because I don't you have seen the whole DVD and I know I haven't.
@Ryooken
@Ryooken Год назад
The only thing you have to be careful with these types of techniques is that you have to look out for your opponent to do the unexpected. It only works if you can sucker them in. If you can't sucker them in you need a different approach. You should only use finishing moves when you know what their reaction will be.

Say that when someone is repeatedly punching you real hard 😂 all that will go out the window 😂
@kissofthecobra3761
@kissofthecobra3761 7 месяцев назад
@@flylerdurden1999 I think you miss the point. Even in boxing a simple jab can KO a person. I could use a backfist to the temple and knock a person out and you can also kill a person with a good strike to the temple. If you know how to fight you don't need to repeadly punch someone ''Real Hard'' this is assinine, anyone who studies the bodies weakness knows one strike is all it takes. Also though while many people think karate is useless etc, a good point is to know is how to strike with your palm because believe it are not depending on the situation a right cross is not always Ideal. I literally just talked to a guy less than a weak ago who claimed to break bones in his hand from punching people when he would get into fights and he was a boxer lol. Karate can teach you quick strikes that are almost as powerful as boxing punches without the threat of hurting your hand. It's not like the movies where you punch are kick someone ten times and they get up to continue to fight when you are dealing with a trained killer.

“Basic American boxing punch” sounds really macho but at 06:10 most guys will just break their middle three proximal phalanges. If you don’t have padded gloves on and certainly if you don’t know how to punch always use an open palm. In any case number 1 is the one to use.
@AdventuresofGraywolf
@AdventuresofGraywolf Год назад
I agree. If you know how to line things up and wind up your torso for the punch, all you need to do is get past his defenses and not get hit on the way. They go down pretty easily. If you don't know how to punch, you seriously should just find a friend that's been boxing or doing martial arts (that has an effective offensive component). It does take a bit to get it right, and in a real fight, you'll reduce to whatever you've trained the most, so you'll need to practice doing it the right way and not just know the right way. If you haven't done that, you should be using palm strikes or knifehand strikes, but even those can break your fingers. Elbow strikes are pretty failproof. If you decide to rush someone and have no training or actual fighting experience, once you get on the inside, as he's about to go down or even on the way, throw an elbow to the jaw just like a right/left cross. You don't get a lot of speed with those but you'd definitely have a lot of your bodyweight behind it, and it's highly unlikely you'll get hurt (unless something rare like hitting him in the teeth and his teeth dig into your elbow). Even that though, you won't be taken out of the fight and he probably will be

Neck shots are legit. I like them better than hitting the face. You can do a quick neck shot and not worry about busting your knuckles or him spewing blood from a broken nose. I’ve done both to bar bullies, and much prefer the neck over striking the face. Just involves a little jab or palm strike distracting and a sidestep straight punch or hook type strike without the side step. I prefer the angle sidestep and straight right after the quick setup. Watch them drop.

@@czotheghostgmail I’ve done all that, brother. After a guy dropped his head and I hit fist to forehead and busted my hand, I changed tactics. That was back in my competition boxing and bouncer days. Don't punch above the shoulders with your fist fellers, there's a hundred little bones in there you can break. Just let em have the elbow across the chin or temple. @FightFast
@FightFast Год назад
Great question! Dynamic leg movement can be challenging to deal with in a self-defense situation, especially if you are not comfortable with dropping your stance. One option could be to focus on redirecting your attacker's movements, rather than trying to match them step for step. This can involve using techniques like body positioning and footwork to angle your opponent away from you and creating opportunities to strike or escape. Be sure to keep an eye out for our next video, it will touch more on this!

Your body should be tilted toward where your fist is going, so your arm should be in the way if you're using reflecting fists (like you're looking into a mirror). if he uses the opposite reflecting fist (like you both throw right hands) then it depends on who swung first. If you swung first, you'll be inside his target range and he'll go behind your head. If he swings first and you can't block it, you'll go down. In that case though, you still have another arm to block with as you swing.

#1 appears to be fake. I don't doubt that there is a nerve center at the location cited, but hitting it cleanly is not as easy as portrayed. Chances are, a skilled fighter is going to duck his head when he sees the strike coming. This will change the neck location and make it difficult to isolate the nerve center. However, it appears if you can hit it, that it is affective. How affective would have to be tested in a real fight situation. There is a video of a martial artist that specializes in real techniques you can use on the street. This martial artist states that most pressure point are ineffective in a street fight situation. I would tend to agree because if your opponent is skilled, it will be all you can do to block, move and punch effectively. Regardless, learning pressure points and weak points on the body is a smart thing to do. Possibly if you are grappling, and in a weak position, you might be able to reach a pressure point to change things and give you and advantage.

Straight fingers rammed into the eye sockets I find very effective. Just don’t bite your finger nails until you’ve washed your hands.

Maybe 🤔 I should practice these moves on a Teddy bear or something. I would hate to hurt myself or others lol 😂 moves like these have to be practiced often. It’s not likely getting into fights is that common for most people but if you practice it will be a flow when fights do happen many people forget to breathe and they can’t control there heart rate so stay healthy and calm down your nerves 😳 😂

Guy #4 does NOT know how to execute this GREAT hit. There is a way to do it if the teacher KNOWS how the move is made.

I hope they preface this video with do not try this on a trained MMA/Boxer/Kickboxer. There's a big difference when fighting some bar idiots vs fighting a trained fighter.

Chad, conveniently, does nothing with his left arm at the counter-punch and allows himself to be hit.

Question: to hit an American punch, do you need to be an American? Do you need to carry small firing guns, and up to which caliber? How about the facial hair, what type or style rocks better with the American punch?
@edi9892
@edi9892 Год назад
I don't like the American punch. It's like asking for a doc to operate teeth out of your fist! Plus, if the opponent jerks his head down before you connect, he might end up headbutting your fist, which can break the knuckles or wrist! I would rather strike the chin from below or from the side.
