using the price tracker today i have found alot of the current shape v8 vantage cars have all gone down 10k in price over 6 months and this is at an aston martin main dealer

Horrid Mazda front and headlights, thankfully trashed in the new model.. No surprise second hand price tanked.

Agreed, the only downside of the Turbo S is that it sounds like a vacuum cleaner but who cares on a GT car of that level.

@@adplays7261 I do care, but I think the sound is a small enough price to pay for that car. That said, I'd have a GT3 in the garage with it, probably not the RS, OTT for me. Or, on a budget, a 981S because an 8k RPM NA flat-6 still sounds insane and that car is the perfect sports car sweet spot for road use as a non-racing driver who couldn't slide a GT3RS around safely!

Wow, sounds like you've got money to burn mate, lucky you 😂 MC20 out of this bunch, nicest looking car on the road. If I had the money, I really wouldn't give a sh*t about the weight.

@@neildisley7779 Ha, I'd love to actually be able to afford any of these. By far the flashiest car I've ever owned was just a 981CS - as reviewed by JB on this channel no less! The weight of the MC20 is an issue for me because it's a supercar and it should feel lively but weight holds that back. Huge, modern tyres compensate for a lot of that but not enough. Weight in a luxury car I get, although a top spec, late model GS450h is only 140kg heavier than an MC20! That's larger in almost every dimension, has a bigger engine and hybrid gubbins too, plus 5 seats and silly stuff like moisturising aircon... Honestly, even my Porsche I wouldn't say felt that light and that was 1325kg. Considering its more exotic materials, I feel like that's more like what an MC20 should weigh. Not like it's lugging around a big V12 either, why bother downsizing if not for weight? Not like they're going for economy, plus turbos ruin that in reality anyway (which is why the 718 engine is stupid). Sorry, I've been verbose this week even by my standards...

Meh, if you can afford to buy any of these then the maintenance costs will still be totally irrelevant really. A 992 Turbo S isn't cheap to run, Porsche reliability is nowhere near as good as people think and it'll eat more tyres than Germans eat sausages...but we're still talking broadly similar running costs to an F80 M3, for example, so perhaps 3-4x more than a well-maintained basic Fiesta or something. The others I'd guess are 50-100% more than that. Considering the difference in purchase costs, these have a *lot* of depreciating to do before it's a problematic factor.

I see you've addressed this in your latest video so I thought I would check back, and see if it was instigated by just me 😅. So you're saying if I bought a car for £100k and sold it for £90k one year later and there was 10% inflation I effectively lost £20k?

I think he just means "for the money" or "compared to rivals" - 3.4 is quick, but it's also only 10% faster than an Audi RS3, for a *lot* more money. Even ignoring EVs, you can get well under 3s to 60 for less money (e.g. GT-R or Turbo S). I'd compare lap times too, but it seems no big name testers have really even bothered setting times with a Roma, so that probably says a fair bit. Obviously pace isn't why you buy a Roma, but when considering just that aspect and what the car is, JB's comment is totally fair.

@@lukebradley986 The title says "cheap soon?" not "cheap now" 😄 I think it's more a case of there only being so many lists of cars under £10k that you can really do, there's not a new batch of 10 year old used hatchbacks every year! There's also the fact that people overestimate the actual cost difference between cheap and expensive cars. You're paying net cost - so purchase price plus running costs minus sale price. A new base spec diesel Golf is a *LOT* more expensive than a £30k Porsche, for example. I say that from experience - I couldn't afford a Golf when I bought the Porsche (sold a few months back so I have the full figures). Sure, this list is well above that level, but crazy cars are more attainable than you might think. Also, it's aspirational, so if you're driving a banged up old Fiesta then it's nice to really know how far off a supercar you are. Ultimately though, RU-vidr content choice is always the same - it's 50% about what they want to make and 50% about what gets views.

@@ApothecaryTerry listen terry mate if it's cheap soon that means it's still gonna be above 50k...then there's running costs....I've had a couple of range rovers a few porsche cayennes...had a M5 and you know what I rather have a 5 year old golf gtd anyway for around 20k....he needs to think out the box instead of doing the same shit all the time...he's just arrogant and big headed.

@@lukebradley986 I answered everything you said there in my previous comment...net cost - an M5, Range Rover or Cayenne is just as expensive as a Turbo S overall, or to put it another way, a Turbo S is no more expensive than those - yes including buying it, because again: net cost. Sure higher purchase price means you need more funds upfront but if you sell it for almost what you paid for it (i.e. it's near the bottom of a depreciation curve already) then the cost is small. While a Turbo S won't be super reliable, it'll also break a hell of a lot less than those cars you owned. Essentially what we're saying is: if JB is arrogant and big headed for saying these cars could be attainable, you've owned cars that aren't a whole lot different so that's either an incorrect statement or a massively hypocritical one - I'm just making the more positive assumption and suggesting it's incorrect because you've not fully considered the maths. Also, if you'd rather have a Golf GTD for £20k, good for you, but why would you have bought an M5 or massive SUV if you wanted a Golf GTD? I'm all up for cheap cars - I swapped my 981CS for a 308 GTi which cost me £15k (a lot less than I sold the Porsche for) because I wanted fun at any price and that was it. Finally, back to another point I've already made, yeah he does similar lists a lot, that's what works for the channel. I know my replies are long, but you could at least see if I've answered something before saying it, then you wouldn't have another long reply to read...
