I feel like the more I read, the higher my standards get. So choosing 10 books out of a whole year of reading that I wholeheartedly loved seems really difficult to me. But everyone's list are always top 10, so I feel the pressure to come up with 10 when I really only loved five.
The background! Your hair! Your makeup!! Gorgeous !!! I have that exact copy of Needful Things on my shelf I will have to pick it up soon, and you might have convinced me to read Yolk.
since the pandemic I havent red much at all but when you talked about "Adult Children Of Emotionally Immature Parents" I had a oh shit moment because thats def what I've been going through the past two years. Setting boundaries and putting healthy distance helped me personally alot but as I am sitting here crying I gues I still have a ways to go. I hope to find a place again mentally and physically to indulge in reading again as I used to and maybe more because of the joy it gives me than as an escapism and i hope natasha you have a great 2022 healing and reading wise! Whenever I think I am done with booktook one of your videos pop up and it hits the spot so thanks for that!
Setting boundaries is the hardest thing to do but so worth it for your heath. We will always have a ways to go with it and it's a constant ever evolving grief. I'm happy to hear that I can hit the spot for you in some sort of way. I ebb and flow and I understand that's not everyones thing but thank you for sticking with me. Cheers!
Adult children of emotionally immature parents was one of my favourites this year also, a hard pill to swallow but a life changer, excited to read Yolk this year and happy to see you! Have a great year everyone 😊
Amazing to see you :) I read tender is the flesh this year as well and it destroyed me and I couldn’t pick up another book for a GOOD FEW WEEKS. I read 12 books in 2021, not my best but it was definitely a year.. 😅
im not a huge king fan but i loooove needful things hands down my fav king book, and i wanna experience tender is the flesh so bad but i cannot push myself to start it also i kept getting so distracted by your hair and makeup that color is so stunning, it makes me wanna shave my head again ❤️
I am so happy to see you again!!! I am trusting that the books you've read, aside from Needful Things which I have read, would be too heavy for me but still great to see you again!!!
Yay - so glad to see a video from you! Also, I need to finally pick up The Regrets. I had the same reaction to Kayla hating it - I immediately put it on my TBR.
yay girl! you seem in a good mood and i'm glad to see that. also, can we please talk about your hair? gorgeous! and all the damn cute furbies! didnt hear anything about 'the regrets' but it sounds amazing and i will give it a try. however, we like very different books but i watch you since the early make up days. and i am here for you. i am happy you enjoyed those books and i hope you have a nice day!
Omg. You look gorgeous and beautiful. The Furby family is thriving. We love the videos period !!! Yolk seems to be one that I need to read. Did I say how happy I was to see ya gorgeous face !!!
Definitely exciting to see a video from you. You have been my fave booktuber since I found you. I am adding all of these to my TBR. Adult Children seems like it will be very profound for me..
I've been rewatching your older videos recently and I do it sometimes. And then you upload a new video! That has also happened before and I think it's a only a coincidence. But it makes me feel like some kind of a fortune teller or something lol. Glad to hear about you, I hope you're doing well! :) Oh and I love your makeup in this video (and in many other of your videos).
First of all: you look so f**ing amazing!! Your hair colour 😍😍😍😍 I was so happy to seeing your face here again. Thanks for this amazing video. Hope to see you more often again 🤪
re the shop keeper selling you what you need but there’s a dark catch type of story I recommend Pet Shop of Horrors manga by Akino Matsuri, it has very similar premise and the story is partly dark and twisty and partly endearing and fun.
My words of tender is the flesh: unfurling horror. Just when you get drenched in the clear disgust, something else is going to come out of the shadows to repulse you. One of my favorites of the year
Cannibalism is one of the most horrifying thing to me. I don’t think I could read it. My reading year was terrible. But honestly my fav was Karin Slaughter “false witness”. If that says anything. Currently reading “dig” by as king. Great to see your face again.
Great to see you as always ❤️ I have a lot of books I'm still in the middle of too. Last year my goal was 12 but read 36. This year my goal is 28 as that seems to be my average over the last ten years. I bet this is this one year I don't reach it cos I raised it. But we are here to enjoy and that's all that matters. I heard King brought out banger books last year which is great to hear. He's still going 😍 You: there's two women fighting and it's chef's kiss. I love this 🤣🤣❤️ Dang I should really read that Emotionally Immature book but I already had a break down around my parents at Christmas so I'm not quite ready yet 😅 Between subtle and aggressive? Vivid? Or Visural? Poiyant? Tender is the Flesh is something I really wanna read but.... How mentally is it gunna mess me up? 🤣
Ok after watching your video instead of commenting right away. That’s wonderful that you read a book that has helped or changed you. The book list was amazing. Tender is the Flesh is why I am happy that I have stopped eating animals altogether for years. Omg. I felt sick 😷 when you were talking about it lmao 🤣
Yeah, if your biggest complaint is "ghost sex" then you're judging the surface details. Where you connected with the themes, which makes the reading experience more meaningful.
I literally have Tender is the Flesh on hold at my library and now I'm incredibly disappointed I didn't pick it up while I was out today. Might just go buy myself a copy at the bookstore tomorrow. I AM READY TO BE DISTURBED 😂
As a citizen of a small town, Needful Things was so believably scary to me. Really good horror from King and you're right, its not even really horrific except the horror of miscommunication.
Adding the immature parents book to my list. I read "Finding Meaning: The Sixth Stage of Grieving" and it fucked me up, dude. I had like three therapy seasons in a row of just flailing my arms and crying about it
I still haven't finished tender is the flesh! just got so intensely shocked by what was happening, needing a breather, rinse and repeat. for such a short book I need to power through lol.
My goal was 21 books in '21. I read 29. This year my goal is to read 1 huge book a month (I've selected 13 of the largest books from my shelves). 12 books in '22. It's not about quantity.
I just started reading Tender is the Flesh last night and I had to make myself put it down after reading 73 pages because I knew if I didn’t take a break I would quite possibly get physically sick. I love disturbing stuff, but the way its just so clinically written and blunt is….a lot. Also not sure if I’ll ever be able to eat meat again ever. But yeah, its fantastic so far, just a lot to take in at once.
I also had to take a step back and ask myself if I was so horrified that humans were being slaughtered, or if I was horrified that this is the way the meat industry views animals and we just accept it because it’s just always been a thing. Either way, what a book to start out my 2022 reading journey 😳
