I love that you weren't trying to be an intellectual, you were just simply talking about movies you are passionate about and there is so rare to find. Thank you, I would try to watch them :)
Singstreet is one of my family's favorite films. The older brother's monologue about Rock n Roll being a risk and the importance of creating new art vs. doing covers is one of the all-time great monologues about creativity. Such a special film! Great video!
Magnolia, F for Fake, The 400 Blows, Tree of Life, Boogie Nights, Frances Ha..... so many good films that had a lasting impact on me. Even though Ive slowed down on my film consumption, I still cant get rid of the love for movies. Every now and then I'll remember a fav scene from a movie and remember the emotions I felt when I first saw it.
A wonderful collection of films and thank you for being so generous in sharing so much about yourself. You have some great insights and you're very eloquent in your descriptions. I could listen to that voice of yours all day. Look after yourself, brother.
Rex, I really enjoyed your video, the only film I've seen was singing in the rain but that didn't matter because I just enjoyed listening and watching your work, you have a talent, thank you and you have a great future. 🌈 👍

Everything Everywhere All at Once gets me every time. Sure, the sci-fi/special effects/action are amazing, but the underlying family dynamic/relationships are very well presented and tug at your heart strings.
Vagabond absolutely destroyed me when I watched it the first time. The doc 28 Up haunted me for weeks after. And The Dream Life of Angels I recommend to anyone seriously interested in cinema.
ha!?? i think the way you introduced the movie : Sing Street, just pulled my train of thoughts on a new railway and will save me from train wrack ahead. is this serendipity when this is what i was crying for? since always, but especially now. i will watch it and absorb it like a sponge. sacrifice the embarrassment for passion.
- Stanley Donen who directed “Singin in the Rain” and other musicals also directed the best Hitchcock movie not directed by Hitchcock: “Charade”. - Masina was even better in the deeply profound “La Strada” with Anthony Quinn and and a great score by Nino Rota.
@@RexSvensson Yes. My favorite Fellini movie is a comedy about when he was growing up in Fascist Italy: Amarcord. I’ve watched a good handful of times. Absolutely delightful.
Lilya 4-Ever is such a random choice. Not a bad one, just completely unexpected. I prefered Oksana Akinshina in Sisters (2001) (first movie I saw her in, and the reason I watched Lilya afterward).
These picks are of a cinephile, not a filmbro! Filmbros are the type that think pulpfiction is the best film ever made or anything with a high IMDB rating.
Where can I get to see this Foreign Movie? Is there s standard Cable Channel I can get to see these Foreign Movie- Foreign Language Movies.? My Favorite Foreign Movie whose title esc;es me know is allegedly a True Story is about about Jewish Boy in the Nazi Era who is separated form his Parents. He somehow is mistaken for a Member of the Nazi Youth League and he has to pretend to be Aryan. He can't let anyone find out he is Jewish. He has to Urinate privately because if anyone finds out he is circumcized and Jewish- he will be killed.. Anybody, know the name of that Movie?
