Yeah same, not sure how but so love watching Peter get excited over different wines and makes me want to try to find a good bottle to see what it’s all about🤣 I want to find some Château Haut-Brion now 😂😂😂
This is why this is the best wine show on RU-vid. Blind tasting the big 5 chateaus by surprising a master of wine... and he nails the Haut Brion! Well done, Jay!
"I'm sorry i didn't loved the wine more" it says a lot about the guy. I just found your channel and i'm watching every video with so much pleasure. I juste love your relation with Peter. You guys are incredible and your knowledge about wine is very impressive
You did an amazing job of taking us on your tasting adventure. Your enthusiasm is infectious. After many years in the wine industry I have found a fresh taste for the juice in part due to your program, personalities and expertise. Thank you.
Peter never ceases to amaze me. Bordeaux is my absolute favorite, but it is interesting to see how Peter seemed more excited by low-mid priced Sangiovese than these heavy hitters. Loved this, guys! Btw, more Valerie! -Chris
As the sellers told Jay in the first part of the video, these wines are still a ways off from when they would be at their best, so this tasting was a huge curveball in that respect. It's pretty amazing to see Peter's opinion on the wines gradually start to change along with the wines gradually transforming within the glasses.
I just stumbled on the video and after watching, I subscribed instantly. I've been in the wine industry as an importer for over 30 years and I must say, these videos are special. Bravo to Jay and of course Peter (I'm sure our paths have crossed in the past).
I immensely enjoy these videos, this one in particular, and for several reasons - first, I love seeing these truly classic wines being opened and tasted and discussed by real people in this realistic and unpretentious (sorry about using that terribly overused "wine word") setting. I especially appreciate you two obvious consummate experts evaluating and articulating these wines, again in a totally unpretentious and easily understandable way that allows people like me - I am a great wine enjoyer and enthusiast, but nowhere near the level of expertise and experience of you two fine gentleman. Excellent content and excellent conversation! Best wine channel I've come across by far, and out of quite a number of very good ones on RU-vid. Exceptionally well done, thank you!
Wow, amazing. As a young South African expat finding my way in the US wine world, cheers Peter, you are an inspiration. Ja, die boerewors lyk lekker, man!
I am missing these days in lockdown during covid, watching these videos. Unfortunately i am not that much into winekings Videos after he left california but i hope it is going well for him
This is what I love about wine . . . Having a good time with good friends and good food. Life is good . . . Where is MW Patrick and his wife? Sorry that they missed opportunity to appreciate these excellent wines. Happy to see MW Peter being so happy. Discovering new wines to try is what I love about wine as there are so many different wines to try. Thank you Wineking ...I really enjoyed the video.
An absolute joy to watch. Your channel is truly inspiring and infectious. I’m learning so much and smiling while I learn. What’s better? Thank you Jay!
Close to a half century ago, I had the opportunity to drink one glass of Chateau Latour. I seem to remember it being a 1967. To this day, I can still remember the taste and being amazed that any wine could be that delicious. Prices being what they are, it saddens me to know that in all likelihood, that will be my first and last glass.
This was such a heartwarming, beautiful video - love your sincere yet fun approach to tasting with your master and Peter's unmistakable excellency in the topic paired with humility...thank you!
What a joyful tasting. This channel inspires me to try wines that I would otherwise not consider. I hope that you consider coming to New York and doing an event for your East Coast subscribers.
I love the very last store in Santa Monica. So professional! And the first liquor store is not far from the hotel I used work in Westwood as a part-time in early 80s. Many thanks for reminding me of my younger years.
Fascinating, I have had at least one vintage of each of these wines, but most back when I could buy them for $100 or less per bottle, my first Margaux (1970) cost me $12. The experience here holds true of most Bordeaux, even cru Bourgeois, Reduction to start and evolution, but at different rates and to different degrees and endpoints. "Complexity over POWER" the essence of OW to NW wines. Always a joy to watch you guys.
Great tasting, I would love to see a blind tasting of second growth and third growth Bordeaux wines as they are easier to find and much less expensive. Even down to 4th growth. It would also be very interesting to find wines of the same appalation and year that are 2nd, 3rd, and 4th growths and see if the price is justified. Very fascinating stuff.
Thank you so much Jay! I really love the way that you are sharing wines together with Peter. Not only good food and excellent wines but also the joy and love that are found in the bonding. God bless you guys and families. Looking forward for more great videos. : D
Your vidéo was in my recommendation, it’s actually pretty fun for me to see you testing wine that come from of where I live! I’m actually living at something like 10 min Medoc one that you taste here ! And I already talk with my dad about this five premier grand cru, he had already taste them and he had also said that the Latour was his least favorite ! And finally congrats for this degustation it’s quite impressive and great idea , like you introduce them as wine from the same region and not straight as Bordeaux ones!
Wow. Been waiting for this. Glad you have the support and money now to do this :) Thank you for the great content. The last two videos - Chiantis, which were affordable to us mere humans and then this amazing tasting is just what we need!
