OMG!!! You are a genius. I have been writing in photoshop suggestions for years to request the ability to get a selection from a blend-if result. So happy I clicked on this video and discovered that Lumenzia has made this a possibility. Thank you!

Excellent video!!! SO clear!!! The final tip for the vignette is priceless. Had Lumenzia for a while, wasn't aware of this simple "fix"

Great stuff Greg - the explanation on how blend-if works using the gradient and the colour fill is inspired!

Inspired by this tutorial, I tried using a combination of Blendif and the Clone stamp to eliminate halos from over sharpening. It worked! Thanks, Greg.

Excellent. All of these videos take a lot of absorbing. I find I watch a section, and then pause it and go into PS and try it out. - often more than once. It all takes a little practise to learn, but so very well worth while. Beginning to realise how broad the power of Lumenzia is.

Thank you, Greg, for the wealth of information you were kind enough to take the time and, none too small, efforts needed to distill it for - we who only wish we knew as much as you have forgotten! - about Photoshop and things image editing. Alas, the more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know but wish I did!

Great tutorial, Greg. Thank you. Question: On minute 11 you add a "black to white linear gradient" to a group mask. When you applied it you it looks as though you dragged your cursor up, not down. Yet, the mask is white at the bottom! Am I miss understanding something? Thanks again.
@gregbenzphotography
@gregbenzphotography Год назад
The mask should be white at the bottom, since sun revealing the edit over the dunes. The drag order may vary depending on start/end color of the gradient or if you checked the “reverse” option, so reviewing the mask is always good.

Your knowledge is admirable yet, you do it too fast (for me?...) to really learn and make use of it.. This is for very advanced Photoshop users. Thanks anyway!

I understand your point! However, what we need to keep in mind is that if he and the others who are kind enough to take the time to break something this incredibly complex down didn't work through it quickly the tutorials would be so long no one would ever listen to them or avail themselves of the lessons. I find the trick is if I find a need for a technique then I just take the lessons in bite sized pieces and keep at it until I get each point to that point, then move on to the next.

It’s always a balancing act since the audience has a wide mix of skills and learning styles. I’ll always be too slow for some and too fast for others. I always try to find the best balance, but it’ll never be perfect for a large group of viewers.

You are clicking your buttons up which I do not know what are they. Why do not you use the classical tools and adjustment layers of Photoshop?
@gregbenzphotography
@gregbenzphotography Год назад
Because the manual approach is much note complicated/slow, that’s why I created the panel.

What questions do you have?
@macneillfoto3241
@macneillfoto3241 Год назад
@@gregbenzphotography For me- you kind of skimmed over how you got the yellow layer and the gradient layer in the group. I think most PS users would know this, but for a lot of photographers who's editing is constrained to making basic levels and curves adjustments this needs to be explained...
@gregbenzphotography
@gregbenzphotography Год назад
Gotcha. It really isn’t relevant to the lesson here. I just wanted to show how BlendIf reacts to the pixels you have. You wouldn’t create a gradient like this for normal work, it just helps for demonstrating BlendIf.

Nice video, however I have trouble finding the blend if tool and my lmz panel which is very different and it has many more options. Perhaps my panels are messed up. Any references I should be going to?
