Any idea how I can get DD know that the app is not allowing to work my home town and surrounding area including six other towns and villages??? The Phillipino outsource team and supervisors are inept, ignorant, and unequipped to help even though it's a known issue involving other dashers. Anyone have a workaround as I've tried all the troubleshooting tips and the problem is on the programming side?
1. Know your market not your app and find a good parking area surrounded by locations. If getting no orders then move around. 2. Put a towel or something on you car seat to block stains from food or drinks! (I learned hard way after getting grease in my seat. It will happen when trying to juggle alot of drinks)...$3 six cup holder from Michaels helps with drinks btw 3. Restart app from time to time if not getting orders. 4. Dont go to hotspots unless you get there within the first 2 minutes it refreshes. If not dashers already in the spot will get all the orders in first 2 minutes and you wont see one for next 8 mins. 5. Take your time and be safe, your not driving around a organ for a transplant!
Aw man I once spilled my own coffee because I had to use all my cup holders for their order 😂😂 Now I only drink coffee and water with a cap when I doordash
@SlimPippinHustlin lol I've come close myself doing just that but my yeti has a lid cover , I bought one of those $3 plastic 6 cup holder with handle in middle from Michaels. Works like a champ bc I like to have my drinks in center console area. Check it out.
Ooh... This is good to know. Instacarter here, and I noticed if I go to the location (of my frequented stores), I get the shops pretty quickly. This makes sense.
Hot spots are a scam it doesn't mean it's busy right now it means it was busy in the past I learned that on Easter Sunday a couple of years ago when it kept telling me to go to a local donut shop which happened to be closed on Easter Sunday
One thing that has worked well for me I haven’t seen mentioned, when bonus pay is being offered I will usually stay in a zone which is slightly lower bonus pay. For example, one zone is offer $3 and another next to it is offering $2 go to the $2 zone. The highest pay will get more people from the nearby zones to flock to it. While you aren’t making as much bonus per delivery there will be more orders available due to few drivers being in the area. Typically you’ll get more orders with less wait time in between.
I am doing this for extra cash. When I started out, I took EVERYTHING and have a One note for things like neighborhoods, slow restraunts codes for apartments, and bad customers. I amnlucky to live in a triangle. 10 mile radius, so I move depending on times. I learned what neighborhoods take me to dead drives back. Avoid them till the end of the night.
A few more tips from a veteran. Try to accept orders where the customer lives near other restaurants and/or is still in your zone. Also, try to keep hot food hot and cold food cold. What I do is that I have a 0 degree sleeping bag in the trunk with a heating pad from Amazon in it. I then plug it into a deep cycle battery from Walmart when doing a order, then I unplug it at drop off. To keep food cold, I have a cooler with frozen igloo bars that I swapped out of the freezer every night. Maybe I should make a video about that as well. Lol Thanks Pedro for sharing.
@@thebraveguy9808 I think you have to watch the video and then come to a conclusion that besides all the tips he mentioned you should above all keep your own records, screenshots of your map app location and delivered order placement and street address, just in case a delivery reports undelivered. You never know.
Make sure you put the other apps on HOLD when using one or the other. I had Uber Eats on one time while in the middle of doing an instacart order. It was for 59 dollars. I wanted to cry because I could not take it lol
Had a $6.75+ order for 3.5 miles. I took it. Most others wouldn't have taken it because it was less than $7. It turned out that there was a $30 tip on it. Not bad for being platinum and in the right spot when it came in. I made $83 in 2.5 hours.
@@daedae999 as long as you wanted to destroy your car for not very much money go ahead and do it. After four years when your car has 170,000 miles on it and barely works anymore and you haven’t even remotely made enough money to replace it. You’ll think man I wish I didn’t.
Man I finally got Platinum after being stuck on 69% for 4 days and oh boy is it worth it! I only declined 1 order today bc every other order was atlesst 2x $ per mile!
That’s not how it’s going to stay .. was that way for me as well… the hardest part will be maintaining the 70% AR. Soon it will send you offer after offer that are 0-1$ tip orders. Not good
I’m a veteran driver on DoorDash and UberEats and I have told people before that you take short trips high rewards and if you take long trips do $2 per mile is a rule of thumb for me. Also bring snacks and drinks with you have a little cooler in the back seats for soda or whatever drink your into.
Thanks Pedro. I’m a 68 year old female and dash occasionally to keep my brain going if that makes any sense. I’ve had to learn the hard way on nearly everything I’ve experienced delivering. I always come home with interesting stories and very little money but it can be fun at times.
Earn by time people will take them not knowing, and some top dashers or top tier people will take them here and there is what I've seen locally. But I assume it will never end untill the day where greed leaves big corp and love steps in.
@@michaeljohnson2136 it's when the miles are more than the shown earnings. A $6/8 miles, $4/4.5mi... whenever the earnings are less than the miles the tip isn't going to go up unless the customer adds afterwards (which is very rare)
Just few 1. Know your market’s restaurant in term of fast or slow 2. Get a fuel friendly vehicle 3. Know the right time to start 4. Make Schedule for the day
Be fast! Set cruise control at 2 mph over the limit, learn your apartment complexes, and carry a good flashlight. Take shortcuts if you know your city. Always use the freeway if possible. Make your presence known at restaurants, don't be shy, be assertive without being rude. Avoid long drive-thru lines. Click arrived at store as soon as the option is there (usually a quarter mile away), and don't be afraid to unassign the order penalty-free after 10 minutes if the option is there, unless you know the order is nearly done. The main goal I have is 3 or 4 completed orders per hour, or 2 good $10+ orders in an hour.
u can go 5 over speed limit no problem. the judge will just look at the cop and think really bro? you brought him here for 5 miles over speed limit? wtf bruh gtfo.
I've thought the same thing, but even last night I accepted an order from McDonald's; that ordered paid me $12.95. It all depends on where the order is going.
Ive been a part time dasher for 4 years in a small town, i like your tips most of mine are the same 1. Find your sweet spot, dont chase hotspots they dont mean anything to me 2. Stay positive not everyday is going to be great 3. Dont take orders where miles outweighs the dollar amount, i have to double miles since its very unlikely to get an order on the way back to my sweet spot 4. Dont cherry pick to much, nobody wants to go 6 miles for 8$ but i will and you never know might get an additional order 5. If you can get to know your town ive had dd tell me an order is 5 miles but theres a fsster route and it turns out to only be 2 miles
My ratings - AR 76% Completion R- 99% Customer R- 4.95 On time delivery- 98% If you have a V6 or V8 car DONT do DoorDash. If you do buy a E-bike. (You won’t get shop and deliver) orders. Know your city , drive on a Saturday afternoon see where a LOT of people hang out at. Downtown? Uptown?
I have learned that this simple rule to get more tips is to say in communication with the customer before you deliver the order the customer wants to know when there order is on its way to them or if there are going to be any delays at the store.
With the Platinum dashing status do you still get to dash whenever you want the dash now even if the map is gray?? In my area in Central Florida they're rolling this out as of May 1st and I'm just purely curious because I will qualify for platin Dasher and I'm just wondering if it's if I'll be able to dash on my schedule
I usually camp out next to chick-fil-a. On that side of town there's like 15 restaurants that I actually like. Dashmart, which sends out the most god-awful offers, makes me avoid a part of town in which there are good restaurants. I have to be conscious of my AR these days and being near that place is not going to help. In fact, ask the execs why Dashmart has two dollar base pay going 20 miles at times.
Good top 5 list. I am in a unique market on an island but I would add to your "have a short memory" tip that it is always about the averages. I can't be so inflexible with my rules that I can't occasionally take a slightly lower offer if I want. Sometimes you get rewarded with a banger right after taking something that was less than ideal. Also, don't be afraid of the decline button and don't unassign so quickly. If I have already been there for 10 minutes it is likely that my order is coming out very soon so might as well see it through, provide good service, and get paid rather than getting nothing for my already spent time.
What about the nuts and bolts like… How to best transport the actual products… What are the best insulated bags… How to keep things hot or cold… Seems like simple stuff but it could be important to keep your shift going smoothly. Thanx for the tips!
I park around the restaurant i know people love and having platanium status helps i made 80 on my first 2 deliveries last night, ended the night with 150 in 3 hours.
As a new dasher.. I found this very helpful. I definitely made the mistake of “driving around” I usually park at a local diner and I have gotten great money going there.
Some people think that if your car is not moving, your phone is not moving, and you won't see as many orders. I wonder if you could just hold your phone, and walk around close to your car. That way the app thinks you are always moving.
That does work well, these companies know when you are driving that most people are vurnable to making a fast decision, vs sitting there and zooming in on the customers home/apartment and making more calculated decisions. I do get out of my car and head into a store, and they orders fly at you aswell vs driving around too, however if it is busy enough it really doesnt matter but during slow times, the algorithm is programmed to do such awful things is what I beleive.
This is true, I can decline 10 orders in the same spot and then my phone will stop receiving orders , soon as I start to drive my phone will start getting blown up again
1.kno your area, 2. get familiar when the best time to work 3. communicate wit customer if u gotta wait for order. 4. paid by time if its slow in your nearest hot zone. 5 schedule a full shift to keep mileage down #gigtalk
im new and one thing I noticed is that i got a pizza bag and told the app I had one and then I started getting pizza orders which were good tips, especially at the itallian restaurant--also if the order is taking longer than expected I text the customer asap to let them know I'm waiting and then I click the prompt to let door dash know that the food wasn't read when I arrived--I'm 2 weeks and 55 rides in and so far so good..
As an Instacart shopper since 2020, I recommend the 1 shop orders either early or late in the day. An example of a good batch would be $7+ dollars for 20-ish items, and going less than 5 miles. I call these "unicorns". If you get to know your stores, you can be in and out in less than 15 minutes. These orders happen almost daily. Sometimes I can get $15-20+ for these orders, and it's great.
Deliver to decent and nicer neighborhoods. Tips are usually better, the customers are more helpful and grateful, parking is much easier and you'll be safer in general. As a female dashing in a large city (sometimes at night), that's something I won't negotiate on.
@@lindamyers495 They give you the full tip but reduce the DD portion of your pay. Well documented and policy whether legal or not? Class Action Suit in Georgia pending trial.
I won't take a low paying order especially if i have to travel a dollar per mile to get it. I will go for a 5 dollar run if it is 1.5 miles away. For long delivery runs i will switch zones on the way to delivery and hopefully line up my next run before i drop off my present run.
🚨 I got 5 Tips!!!!!!! 1.Use premium gas 2. schedule only for 3rd shift. Take only low offers 4.Park in front of Little Caesars, Bojangles, Mcdonald’s and starbucks 5.Never ever take short distance orders please! ! Can’t complain about over saturation while promoting and educating 😮😅
Hey Pedro, I never use delivery apps personally to order my own food, how do you use the DoorDash customer app to help when I am delivering?😀 you and I have learned a lot from your channel. I appreciate it.❤
May 1 I plan to start using DoorDash. Making transition after issues with rideshare companies due to false allegations and the company not having conclusive evidence against me. May not make as much but still like to make funds to make for hobbies and retirement planning.
New subscriber here. I saw the clip about the Solo platform. Is that more of, bookeeping system-like app? If so, I wouldn't mind using this app. I would have to keep track at first for now, since I wont be able to afford the app at this present time. Even if $5 a month to keep documentation. As long as I can plug that infomation, in terms of copying and pasting the info into an online tax program, that would be one less headache to worry about come tax season. Thank you for your insight! ✨️✌️
learn what stores in your area tip more often than others, where im at carrabbas, panera, and high end restaurants tip well unlike fast food places or regular restaurants. so usually the better the restaurant is the better the chance of you getting a tip
I can’t wait to start doing orders from Lowe’s I have a pick up truck also a small car I know since door dash partnered with Lowe’s earlier this month you know it’s gonna be lumber orders and stuff like that with big tips in certain markets
DD everytime I try to book slots there isn't any in NYC. And when you get one they only allow you a hr. And like you Said might only get one order. This is why I've been doing Uber eats lately, they keep the orders coming.
I’m new and I would like to know what time is the dinner shift? Door dash started off a hit with me but it doesn’t have me constantly taking orders like UberEats.
Interesting. I'm in a smaller area so the bigger ticket restaurants aren't as big as the fast food. I can see that is a good strategy. I am being forced into a bigger market to get time so will use this strategy.
Do you have to schedule time with Ubereats. I don’t think Uber eats is popular yet in my area but may be if I drive a hour away. Sometimes I have things to do in that area and wouldn’t mind signing on for a hour or two to see if I can pick up some work while in the area.
Appreciate you! Your five are spot on... I'd add to keep AR up take the short crud... I often get good add on orders. Almost like dash is testing us or rather teasing us to think we will get one added that's really nice if we take crud. So ya the add on's are like 10% probably in reality... Dash knows us better than Mr bet on you even, haha. I need to subscribe, you're a good guy. Be safe
Catching bonus pay per order whilst driving through that territory and still having it on your app as you drive to areas without bonus pay.. I think that's it?
Sometimes i sit in a hotzone that stays relatively huge / stays in the area i’m parked but it still takes 40-50 minutes sometimes for my first order to come in. Would it then be smart to navigate to another area? or stay in the hotspot for longer.
I live in a smaller areas. I tried doing instakart, spark etc.. no openings in my regions. I even tried where my son does it in and near Nashville tn. Also, no openings. Any advice? I sold my Airbnb due to my health so I need to go driving jobs only thing I can physically do now
So if your using two apps, Doordash #1 and the second app has a order. Do you pause your dash until your done and resume dashing or leave both apps open and just decline doordash as your doing your other order?
I dont understand how following #3 would be a good idea. I mean, the process is a good idea, but my concern is if someone has Uber Eats, but also DoorDash and Uber Eats has an order that pings you, and you accept, but then as you're getting ready to leave the spot, a DoorDash pings in right after. Do you decline the DoorDash for the Uber Eats request? I feel like having more than one app would clash, therefore, having to turn down a request in one app. Because you got a better or similar order in another app, wouldn't that constantly keep you in a state of poor orders? 🤔
I hate delivering to apartments, I recently had an order with a gate, they didn't give me the code, I asked for the code, this code didn't work, a gay guy came, said something unintelligible about the code, in the end he gave me 3 stars... people are sometimes absolutely inadequate...
Calculate how much your car costs to travel per mile. Once you see that it costs you 65 cents or what have you to drive a mile then you realize you need to only take the orders that are $2/ mile. Also, doing regular maintenance on your car is important!
Hello, how can you determine if there is a tip in order? do you calculate this based on the base pay per mile? if so, for example, what is base pay in your area?
I became a successful DD driver the day I quit. I will never go back to gig work. In my market the high end restaurants weren't worth it because everyone ordered from so far away the pay wasn't worth the trip.
I like where you're going here a 2 minute in. But, In your statement of saving gas, What do you do after you deliver the order . Drive around aimlessly? Waste gas driving back to where you were? Wait outside the customer's house? I have some hotspots that I go to avoid being taken to shitty areas. And? I. Loki loki do drive around in a circle around some of those hotspot's thinking thinking I don't get an order here, so let me circle around the block. And? Maybe I'll get an order on the other edge of the hotspot. I know it's not necessarily the hotspot itself but I got A OK idea of the area. I just don't want to be taken into the s***** neighborhoods in my zone. Tips?
Question for you. While dashing today I had a fellow dasher that had to scan all his receipts. He asked me if I had to. I said no. Why would doordash make someone scan all the receipts?
@brookewillis418 it can be randomness but from what I've noticed it's usually with new dashers as I had to at first then it stopped and every now and then they make me take pics, u mean pics (like today i had to take a good bit of receipt pics) ...when u say scan you mean picture right?
@Money247com yup I think ur right bc they didn't for a while unless shop items but all of a sudden it's a pic of receipt or item, probably research or something like ya said

Not sure if your aware of this but uber is suing cause Biden signed a law in January that band gig jobs. Wants them to be considered a full or part time employer and would have to pay insurance like an actual job? Is this really a thing??
