Great information! I appreciate this precise and clear instruction video tape. In the past, I have made some mistakes of pruning and growing fiddle leaf fig trees. Now, they are out of shape, and I am figuring out how to made them look better. I'll follow your notching and cutting methods to shape my trees.

Thank you so much for your video. I rescued my fiddle leaf after it had been passed over at the grocery store for a year. It was in need of some loving care. So, I brought it home and repotted it and it's growing a lot but has adema and I did not know what it was. I'm so relieved, thank you!

Wow thank you so much for your very detailed explanation of pruning , pinching and nothing , I pinched and notched my rubber plant 2 weeks a go but I haven’t seen any tiny buds coming out from the stem and with this it makes me think to prune the rubber plant that I pinched , nothced, do you think it is a good idea?

Will notching work on a rubber plant? Tried to propagate plant with water and dirt and failed miserably! I don't want to cut more off the plant. Thanks for all the great info. Unless you go to a plant nursery, people at big box stores know nothing about plant care.

I loved your video and perfect explanation. Can you please guide for its further care. I dont want to ruin it. New leaves are not growing nor It has a bud. I'll wait for your 3 4 and 5 tips until it's healthy but how would I know it's getting well or not.

Good video, but disagree on watering. On my first Fig plant I followed the said advice above and nearly lost it to too much watering. What I found through trial and error, is that the plant loves a lot of water but likes to dry out. As such I water mine profusely outside, soak it for about 5 minutes with water running out the bottom. Why, this takes out all the salts in the soil. I then let it drain for 15 to 3 minutes, take it inside and put it into its decorative pot. There it sits growing and looking beautiful for about a month. At the month cycle I test the soil, if it's still registering moist, I let it go another week. Once it registers to the dry side (water meter), I repeat the watering process. My first Fig has grown to over 7 feet and has grown 3 additional branches. Hope this helps.

Great video that explains so much more details than other videos I have watched ! But I have one more question that is it a good ideal to plant fiddle leaf in a self watering pot ? Will it be too much moisture to it ? Looking forward to your response, thank you for the helpful video !
@Mlspky
@Mlspky Год назад
I’ve found self watering pots cause roots to stay too wet. It keeps soil at the bottom too wet and soil near the top not wet enough. It’s best to top water so ALL the soil gets watered thoroughly and can wash all the minerals and salts out.
