@@Guysmith7 it's funny because it's true of 95% of the businesses on the show. most of them are 1-2 person businesses and if that person got hit by a bus the entire business would fail overnight. some of them would have stop to recoup, although no one to resell it, most of them even with inventory and systems would not have anyone who actually knows where that stuff is and how to convert that back into cash if hit by a bus. and even in ones where they might have a lot of stock, where's the future. imagine reggae reggae sauce with Peter on the bottle instead of levi roots lol

Besides, If you know you're going to job interview and you can watch previous candidates and how they did, you wouldn't do something that disqualifies most of them, would you?

Plus I'm sure they have thousands of applicants for the show and they choose the ones that will get the best reaction out the Dragons. They don't want some boring, but safe business where the Dragons are ready to shake hands right after presentation :P

Hypnobirthing can be used In all areas of birth High tech or natural birth it teaches about positivity and breathing. Seen it work well For mothers who have ended up in emergency situations and keeping calm reflects on the outcome for baby. I say well done to herself.

@10wanderer no it absolutely isn't. You don't deal in "if, buts and maybes" in business. Nobody can tell the future. The valuation needs to be current value. Like the dragons always say, they're not investing at tomorrow's prices, they're investing at todays price. Potential only applies to big companies that have proven, big growth year on year. But the kinds of businesses in the den don't have that kind of proven growth, and if they did, they wouldn't be in the den

Then how come there's so much variation in the valuation of startups?

@@tommatkevich855 because a brand new startup doesn't have figures to go on. So they have to have an "idea" valuation based on targets. But the projections are always small, no more than 200k usually.

That's how the entire stock market works. The value of a stock is a reflection of its perceived future revenue potential.

I don't see why they continue to have a problem with this scenario. Granted, the guy didn't have a track record on leasing or selling these sheds, which was the biggest problem.... but why do they always have a problem with entrepreneurs starting a new business that plays off their old one? Like you would have to have them manufactured somewhere, and because he's got a business that already deals with this scrap wood, he can get the stuff cheap because of that. What's the difference between dealing with another manufacturer for your product and dealing with him?

​@@billsmith8825 the issue is is he said he was going to use these investments to spend on materials that he gets from Jo's other company meaning he is creating larger profits in his other business so then he wouldn't need to make profit on the building business meaning he would gey a bunch of money that he wouldn't have to share, that's why Peter wanted a share of his other business because otherwise they would literally be throwing 250k away
