The older I get, the more I believe the ability to move is so much more important. The older we get, the less we have to do the less we do. So, in turn, the less we can do.
I've lost 85 lbs over the last 2 years and became a personal trainer. I found a new passion in life and I feel better in my mid 40's than I did in my 20's. I'm so thankful I found your channel. It has truly made me a better trainer!
Listening to Mind Pump makes me never want to stop strength training and always growing my mind and my body. It's also a reminder to keep pushing forward to become the best version of me I can be! Thank you
Yay Justin. 😊 I've been looking for something to add besides yoga and pilates to change planes of motion and prevent injuries. It does look like there are a lot of equipment needed so that may be an issue.
As a new high school baseball coach, this subject is one I’ve been dialing in. For both performance and injury prevention, I plan to program grip strength and joint health, through calisthenics movement through single leg and double leg drills in the primary 8+ 2 dimensional vectors, and the overall philosophy of developing “brakes”. Need good brakes to go fast. Explosive, balance, and coordination. Banded movements, sleds, etc. love this and probably will share this with the other coaches and students. A good baseball channel that highlights this is 108 performance. My own athletic background for reference: Kickboxing with full contact, baseball, rugby, soccer, and rock climbing.
Power is one of the first things to go. Too many people live their lives without finding out what their body is capable of (strength and power wise). Training strength and power would solve so many problems now and potential problems in the future.
I might need to snatch this up. I am coaching a youth soccer team. And teaching them some of these movements would definitely benefit them. Keep up the great work fellas.
I JUST posted a question in the Mindpump Fitness Coaches Facebook group about creating a program for Women surfers a few days ago. I already own performance, but very much wanted to be more specific for the sport of surfing. This couldn't have come at a better time!
Love all the content! Broke my back in my 20’s feel like im 70’s but im only in my 50’s This program sounds perfect getting movement in my body-currently doing full body weight training 3x a week
YES!! I'm much more interested in athletic potential then just looking good (although that's bonus) but I want to move good and be strong as many ranges as possible.
It's a lot easier as a former athlete in my younger days never touched a weight, to get into weight training and adjust and also look better or feel better. Got into weight lifting in college the competition where bigger, faster, stronger 💪.
Hey gents--LOVE your channel and content....I do get my info from multiple sources. I wonder if you gents are aware of one (RU-vidr/author) I am fond of called "The Bioneer." Considering this episode, I believe he epitomizes the phrase, "move well, look well." You should check him out and maybe even have him on? He hits all of your points here in addition to the importance of exercising the brain.... Love you guys!!!
Guys, if I could give you a Nobel prize, I would. Seeing the real one is about politics and dirty greedy shit, consider this a real accolade given from the purest place. I'm fairly confident thousands of other people will agree with me on this. Thank you!
Lunch and Learn with Mindpump is my favorite part of a Sunday. In major need of a new routine in the gym. Looking foward to hearing more. Thanks guys ❤
i dont know how to ask questions but i have 1. my left arm is longer than my right arm and when i lift it affects which arm gets a better workout. Should I abandon the barbell and just use dumbbells?
I do movement every day, especially with my tai chi ball, my steel clubs, and oftentimes my kettlebells, but out side of having two strength days for the upper and lower body, I also have two impulse days for the upper and lower body, while having three rotational days that also include conditioning or cardio once or twice a week. You can do so much with landmines, clubbells, macebells, kettlebells, and light dumbbells used how they did in the late 1800s&early 1900s
I have been on a hell bent mission lately to improving my grip strength. Holding 24kg and 28kg kettlebells with a towel wrapped around the handle for time. This has blown my grip strength up. This has allowed me to hold 42kg for farmers walk without straps. Got a nice pump in the forearms as well. Don’t sleep on improving grip strength peeps.
My fitness journey started about year ago. My first gym membership. Love it. Grip strength is part of my journey. I joined a gym to reduce waste size and hit the golf ball longer as hopefully a side effect of gym :)over past year, there is big push in golf showing grip strength is huge advantage with distance. Speed sticks is pushing a protocol and product to increase grip strength for golfers. I guess data shows golf pros have significantly stronger hands than average golfers. I assume likely because most golf pros do use a gym likely these days. At least the longer hitters.
My husband is in the military & looking for a program, he does all sports ( tennis, basketball, football, disc golf, etc) pretty much since high school (he’s 35 now). would this be a good program for him?
Hell yeah excited to start maps powerlift! I’ve only ever done like circuit training and bodybuilding. But I’ve always lifted heavy but have never done an actual powerlifting program
This program sounds amazing! I’ve been doing anabolic/ powerlifting for the last 3 years, with occasional bodybuilding style training in between. Do you recommend the first performance program before running performance advanced?
So sad I missed the launch! ❤I get notifications weird on your stuff for some reason, and am just now seeing the videos regarding this. I’ll be 50 this year and have currently lost 50+lbs and looking to incorporate more movement type workouts so that I can age more gracefully. Will you have any other promotions on this one soon?
Is this new program supposed to be done alongside with our other sports or to be run alone? My other ‘sports’ is resistance training 4x weekly plus yoga, but I don’t know if this can be combined with the program or if I should put that on hold while running Performace Advanced? Please let me know your thoughts?
How important is the Eccentric part of a deadlift, because I see a lot of people lifting heavy 300+ and dropping the bar once it’s up instead of lowering it (eccentric part of the movement?
Thank y’all so much for getting truth out there! I wish it was mandatory for all coaches to listen to yall !! It would change Hs sports - for the better! 💪
I think the moving good point sometimes is overlooked. It is very subtle but you can tell someone is athletic and comfortable in his own skin, which can be more attractive than just aesthetics.
Super with a new Performance advanced - and great that Justin is showing the exercises. Will Justin also demonstrate the exercises in the program videos - or will you use models like in previous programs (except Anabolic Advanced)? I so much prefer when you three demonstrate it all yourself! The 30-days calendar and all the demo-videos on RU-vid are superb!!!
In case I/we should have questions to anything about the exercises while running this new program (since I can imagine, it will contain many new and unfamiliar movements for me, which is splendid), but will I have to become a member of the Forum for that or where do I turn if questions? Also is this program to be run alone or can people continue with their sport (or for me my resistance training program) alongside running Performance Advanced?
I want this program, as I want to continue to have the freedom to move, and I want to continue to nurture being able-bodied. I’m looking so much forward to this practise ☀️!
Man I literally almost tore my mcl at 31 trying to decelerate on the court. I’m 33 and just getting the strength back all the way. I needed this cause I still wanna hoop.!
