Revisiting books like this is probably something I need to do more often! I look at my bookshelf and I see several books on there that hit me hard, I might have to check radical honesty out! Thanks for the suggestion
Interesting book to review. I've known Brad for almost forty years and can say he's quite a character. I love him to pieces and never got in an honesty rant with him. But I could tell you stories. Where we split on ideology is: I believe one must be in the same "camp" to make it work. Between loved ones it works great. It will, either make love grow or it will dissolve a relationship that was not to be. Where it does not work... Example: A friend indulging in Radical Honesty, screamed at a McDonald's drive-through worker because she did not get her ketchup. This did nothing to empower the two. Yet, still, Brad's a hoot! He's knowledgeable, worldly wise and funny as shit. Read his books and if you have the bread hook up with one on his seminars or weekly retreats. Peace on earth.
Love this comment! I can definitely see how combing radical honesty with getting pissed off over fast food from drive-through is not the best use ones energy 😂 . I would love to take one of the seminars at some point. I can’t imagine being through an experience like that without making some great memories, and probably more than a few personal insights.
I would like to consider myself a pretty honest person. I would also like to think that I’m courageous enough to be confrontational. I think that’s the secret ingredient to telling the truth all of the time. I can definitely be guilty of trying to bend the truth to not hurt someone’s feelings, but as you said it does take a lot of energy. Great review Bjorn thanks for sharing😊🥰💕💕🙏🏼🙌🏼
One of my problems is that I say exactly what is happening for me. People aren't used to it. They say I'm like a bull in a china shop. However, attending a radical honesty workshop was recommended to me so I thought of reading the book that I'll look for on pirate website like I do with most of the material I read. I'm unemployed, often broke and feeling terrible with suicidal ideation although that has been improving over the years thanks to music festivals and Advaita Vedanta (non duality). I think the world is starting to awaken fast. In 10 years non duality will be everywhere and people will be happy and loving one another
Enjoyed your review. I'm half way through at the moment. The whole idea of the truth changing really worked for me. I became aware of how we hold on to a truth or a principle and that becomes our personality. We become rigid to an idea and forgo any new experience, or any new learning. But isn't it hard to work out what your truth is? What you want? Nice one for sharing your review.
as I watch this video, I think of a man that I've fallen for... a man with 999-trillion RED FLAGS... and I ignore each and every single one of them because I'm desperately lonely and I ache so deeply, in my soul, for love... so I'd rather have the ILLUSION/FANTASY of love, from him, than have nothing at all. dear God, I hope this doesn't destroy me like my past "situation-ships" have...
hey Bjorn! just realized you are on RU-vid after being connected on Instagram for years :) this is great. Just saw your post about how you were able to stay consistent in video recording in part due to reading Atomic Habits which is cool. Also read about this book, such a bold concept the author had! Great review!
Hiiiii Pamela!! Great to see you here too! I love this platform. The content is not just a day fly but can actually have a long tail compared to Instagram.
@@BookLabBjorn Agreed that is my favorite part about this platform is being able to engage long form content and dive into an idea deeper. Thank you! I subscribed to your channel earlier too :D And congrats on 52 videos that is a true accomplishment!
I can definitely see what you’re talking about. Freeing up all of that energy just to tell the truth sounds like it would be great. But maybe not so great for the other person 😅
Learn, Improve Master is very much to the point. Not everything is new to me, but it’s structured and organized in a very efficient way and has some really nice things going for it. I have a hard time putting it down!
In the example of what you were doing on the computer don't you think explaining the full truth is irrelevant? The truth is often too long and complicated to explain. I think the main reason I "lie" is to get to the point and not bore people with the details. How do long drawn out explanations with myriads of detail and nuance set you free?
Greetings My lovely Friend💓i hope you're doing wel🙈l This video is outstanding and stunning 🌸 you made my day 💕I hope you'll upload such like content in future too here I'm sending you my fully support and kindness hope see you around 💖🤗
