Maybe for people who want a pickle but don't want to wash a fork? Here's what kills me: It's intended to keep fingers out of the pickle jar; keep the pickles germ-free. It's not intended just to keep your fingers juice-free......fingers should not be in the jar anyway. Yuck. And he was eating off the fridge fork. Totally defeats the purpose! I'm thinking my sons would do the same thing. Too funny :)

The pickle fork is a great idea. Convenient, easy way to deter people from sticking their unwashed fingers in the pickle jar. Eating from the fork defeats the 🦠 germ-free purpose, and it’s very sharp. Bowl Hugger is perfect I frequently use a flat potholder under my hot Corelle bowl when I lunch on the couch with a good movie .

I have that green colander. It's amazing. It fits on even my smallest soup pot, doesn't fall off, is easy to clean and takes up such little space. I think I only paid like 5 bucks for it as well.

Yeah I think the biggest selling point is the space it saves compared to a colander/strainer. Plus it looks easy to wash compared to a metal strainer.

I been having one almost 4 years, and the clips are as good today as day 1. Full disclosure, I only use it a few times a year. As well, I sometimes still use a regular strainer. Like any tool, pick the right one for the job at hand.

I have the fridge fork, the only problem I have with it is that the shelf in the fridge I put the jar on normally fits, but with the fork attached I have to put it on a taller spot.

No judgement, if it works for you it works for you, but why though? How is it anymore convenient that using a normal fork from from the drawer? This product doesn't really solve a problem I'd expect anyone to really have.

I personally have a problems with a normal fork sometimes. The spiky tthingies are quite hard to push into the pickles, so the fridge fork seems to have a point there.

I think that the person that said Flip It leaked forgot to put the washer on, probably thought it was part of packaging and threw it way so yes it leaked. All these products seem pretty good. Thanks for the information.❤️👍🏻👏🏼👵🏻🇺🇸

I eat smoothie bowls daily and I use to hold the bowl with a small towel because the cold bowl makes my hands hurt. I think the red bowl huggers would be perfect for cold bowls too so I might put them on my wishlist for later.

I haven't used any of those but that "flip it" is something I think I'll take a look at buying. Pump tops are convenient when bottles are full but when you get down to that last bit, they're useless.

I love those strainer things. I was skeptical at first about them working on a larger pot, but they still work. They take up less room than a traditional colander too.

I have a store brand of bamboo towels. I wash them in a mesh bag, with the super hot cycle that I do all my dish cloths and dish towels on. They shrank a fair bit, and have a softer, more absorbent. I love them for polishing my black stove and microwave. Although bamboo is a quick, easy growing plant, turning bamboo into viscose fabric, is not the greatest for the environment. Neither is cotton though.

I’m not sure there really is a way for use to manufacture fabrics that is going to be better for the environment than if we didn’t manufacture fabric at all, but I’m a Christian, so I just philosophize that that’s probably why the first thing we did after we fell from grace was start wearing clothes. Even in no Christian faiths it’s similar. The Greeks talked about us gaining access to fire, which is in modern terms just releasing carbon by combustion. But we still use that to keep ourselves from freezing or sweating to death. Towels are kind of a heavy topic, huh😵‍💫

Thought you might like to know that over time, even if you don't do it regularly, dumping boiling water down your drains, loosens the pvc glue and can cause leaks. Always run cold water when dumping and dump slowly. Because when your house was built, those plumbers were NOT using a high heat resistant glue. That is a different glue.

I think warm water is okay, but I have definitely learned that boiling water is likely to do as you wrote. I think our hot water system is set at 129 F.

Ive had the adjustable strainer for yeaaaars and love it!! I use it on all my pots, but try and avoid using it on pots that have a way bigger circumference than the strainer.. it lives in my pot cubbard… I usually use it on things that I don’t want to strain completely, but for stuff like potatoes it’s perfect!!

I think they meant the 'entire' roll is smaller than they expected. Not the individual sheets. They're about 1/2 the size of a regular roll of paper towels.

I was gifted something very similar to the bowl hugger. Same shape but its quilted. At first I didn't see it being useful. However, now I use it for hot bowls & for ice cream all the time. It helps to maintain the bowl temp either way. I don't see the point of the pickle fork. Just use a reg fork. I keep white towels about the same size as the bamboo towels. I wash & bleach them as necessary. I use a specific tea towel for drying dishes. I only use a paper towel as a occas napkin.

I've had a few "bowl huggers" for years, but they're handmade and you get them at craft fairs, state fairs, and events like that where people sell their products. Probably have them on Etsy, but I've not looked. I love them! You can get any pattern you can think of since it uses basic fabric by the yard that you can get at a craft store. They are very popular with patterns of sports teams. I would highly recommend these over the weird Amazon ones. Especially since the ones I have appear to have higher sides and can work as a hotpad if you need to just grab something quick.

You can also crochet them with cotton yarn, there are patterns available on the internet. Only use cotton yarn though, acrylic yarn melts at the higher temperatures since it is plastic.

I am definitely going to invest in those squeeze bottle toppers--fittingly enough, to make sure I get every last drop of lotion out of my Aveeno bottle. They sell an eczema cream that works great, but for 18 dollars a bottle, I should not have like 2/3 cup of lotion stuck on the bottom of the bottle that the pump can't reach.

I used to work in a kitchen shop that sold everything under the Sun in terms of gadgets. I still have "The Pickle Plucker" that did the same thing as the item you showed. It was something put out at Tupperware parties. I also had a German made pickle stabber that resembled the plastic one you showed, but it was a much higher-grade item.

They're just shop towels. You can get boxes and rolls of the blue ones for barely more than regular paper towels and they're crazy durable.

I have a homemade version of the bowl hugger. My mom made a quilted version from a template, and it works great. The materials are different, but I can say that the form that those are made in really does work well for the intended purpose.

I have a fridge fork. It's pretty nifty especially for a half full or nearly empty jar. I tend not to hang on to gadgets I don't like but I keep this one around.

I wouldn't need the Flip It since I just use a funnel to empty one container into a new one to get the last drop out. The Fridge Fork could built up bacteria in it's holder while sitting around waiting to be used again. Just use a regular fork when you need to get something out of a jar.

I have that exact same strainer, color too, I absolutely love it! The clips are nice and strong, dishwasher safe and completely adjustable, one of the best products I've bought from Amazon! Just make sure you pull the strainer bit but so its more of a bowl and not down in your pan.

I love my flp-its. I've had them for years and mostly for lotions. I still don't get it all out due to bottle designs, but it gets most of it.

You might want to try a little spatula with a long handle that fits into those bottle. Amazon sells them for under 10 bucks. You could get the rest of it out like that. I normally just cut the plastic bottles in half using a pair of scissors.

I think once you use the fridge fork and eat directly off of it rather than place the pickle on a plate with the fork you might as well use your hands to get the pickle out of the jar :)

There's another item that works just as well and has been out for a while. It's called a "fork". It has FOUR sharp prongs, and there's 30 of them in your drawer right now. Because you have 30 of them, you simply pull one out and stab a pickle. No need to spend minutes strapping it to the jar. Plus, you just put it in the dishwasher to clean it immediately after use. No condom-like reservoir tip that slowly marinates your prongs in a bacterial bath.

I think those bowl huggers would be great for serving bowls at meal time. Dump those freshly microwaved/steamed veggies or the stir fry you just made into a serving bowl and they get hot. Those huggers would protect your hands getting them to the table and then protect the table, hence acting as a trivet. As for that Fridge Fork, I’m going to order one right now! My husband LOVES baby dill pickles and he’s always digging in the jar with his fingers. We need that item now!

I've been using the green clip on strainer for years and years. I clip the strainer on before I even start boiling anything so I don't get burned. I love it.

Wow, that pickle stabber is interesting to me. I don't eat a whole lot of pickles but I do eat roasted red peppers from a jar every single day and either I have to pour out the water or stick my fingers in the job to get enough grip to pull the pepper out. Regular forks are a little too big and don't grab it well enough.

That strainer looks handy. I've had the half-moon strainers you hold against the pot while straining but you have to be careful not to let slip or scald yourself.

I'm not sure if James knows this or not but when you have something new that's that red, it would be best to put it in a bucket by itself with salt mix it together and let it soak and then it won't bleed, apparently the negative review from Amazon for the bowl hugger didn't understand that

My mom gave me the pot strainer for Christmas and I loved it. Mine looks a tiny bit different as the strainer net part is taller so food won’t go fall over it as easily but it doesn’t have the pour spout dip on the end so water has a wider and messier flow.

We have been using a silicone pot strainer for years, and we love it! It's easier to clean than a stand-alone strainer or collander.

the fridge fork, you have to do more dishwashing than just using a regular fork. Because I would have to wash the entire thing each time using it, I don't want old dried up pickle juice on that forkholder.

So if it works, why change it? 3. Gherkin is a term used in North America, but it refers to a specific type of pickle, which is a "baby pickle."

I got the large set of Flip-It and then got some extra sizes and gaskets. I love the ability to get all the stuff out of the bottles. So far honey, shampoo and conditioner are what I've done.

My favorite two gadgets are the extra-long (typically 11" - 13") hooks and tweezers. Both are great values and they are great for getting food out of jars and also great for flipping food in pans, on sheets, or on the grill. Much easier to use than forks, spoons, tongs, or spatulas. Need to flip burgers or remove waffles from the waffle iron? Use the tweezers. Need to extract hot toast or bagels from a toaster, turn over chicken legs, thighs, and breasts? Use the hook. Need to remove pickles from a tall jar (whole or sliced) then use the hook or tweezers as you deem fit. I use the extra-long tweezers when I make scrambled eggs too. The tweezers are handy to twirl the eggs while they cook and then lift them out of the pan with ease.

@@spikedwk That's cool, but don't strain ground beef or any meat. Do it in smaller batches and fry off all the liquid and get a nice sear and with that - better flavour.

Two, most people making ground beef need to cook at least a pound at a time for their recipe, and unless theyre using like 90/10 lean ground beef (which is quite expensive) their gonna have a decent amount of fat, lastly doing it in small enough batches to do what you suggest for a pound or more adds a lot of time to the cooking process. Oh and plus, a lot of people don't want all that fat in their food, I for one have issues with grease and fat that cause me intense pain so draining is the best and only way to cook ground beef for me and a lot of others.

I think all but the bamboo towels are useful. The bamboo towel is reminiscent of Handi-Wipes, multiple use towels and I prefer a disposable/one use kind of paper towel. I have regular wash cloth for multiple uses. good reviews as usual

I feel like the actual competitors of the mighty Bamboo towel would be reusable microfiber towels. Because I sure as hell don't clean my counters with paper towels.i guess they position themselves against paper towels is easier compared to microfiber clothes

@@Zabe_B i get why you think that, but that logic is wrong and trained by a perception that organic/natural is always good. In reality the old credo of reduce, reuse, recycle in that order of importance still holds true. It does not matter what your thing is made of (assuming it doesn't poising you and the environment while you are using it) the longer you use it the better for the environment. A plastic item used for a decade, is more environmentally friendly then any biodegradable item used for a year. It takes energy to produce a product and it always creates waste. This product is made to be disposable. 8+ years of use from them is a mighty claim and if it lasts that long it gives microfiber clothes a run for there money...and is handily beat by my old t-shirt being turned into a rag after I can't wear it anymore.

i think the only pro it has, is that it's antibacterial, all those towels just have growths of bacteria, you'd have to put them in the washer with bleach often while this one you can just rinse without worrying about how much bacteria it has

That strainer will help so much when I'm making 2 boxes of Mac n cheese for my little gremlins. I have such small space in my sink and if there's even a few dirty dishes, I can't strain!

I’ve had the green strainer for years and love it. It doesn’t take up near as much space as a colander in the cabinet or the dishwasher and I love it for those reasons. And it works.. I’ve never had issues with it …works great!

We have two clip on strainers- one for smaller pots at home and one in our RV. Takes up much less space than a colander and cleans up easily especially when straining grease from taco meat.

We have two of that adjustable strainer, one is the same model you reviewed and the other is presumably an earlier version as it looks like the images on the Amazon link. The style you reviewed drains better due to more and larger slots at the edge. It does have effective limits about how much pasta; e.g. we sometimes make a large amount of torelloni so there will be leftovers and the pasta can tumble over the top when affixed to the stock pot if I'm not careful. It's a trade-off but taking up so little room in the dishwasher and cabinets is nice.

I’m surprised the bamboo towels didn’t say anything about being good for the environment. (I’m not sure if they are, but I know they could probably claim that a few different ways.) Related to that . . . I’ve accidentally washed some expensive Viva paper towels and they held up in the wash and dryer. They came out smaller though.

Mighty Bamboo towels should have some kind of reusable roll center and automated roller for the laundered ones to be re-rolled for ease of use and storage.

I don't know if this applies to the Flip It but I've had bottles that even though they have the type of lid that lets you store the bottle upside down I still can't get everything out. I found another item on Amazon, the name escapes me, that are 2 funnels that are hooked together so that the wide part of each funnel face one another. This allows you to clip your almost empty bottle suspended above the new bottle. The contents of the old bottle then drain into the new bottle. Some products, because they are thick, may take some time to completely drain. And I haven't tried it on a lot of different bottles but the ones I did try it on really worked well. I imagine some bottles, because of size, may become unbalanced but I don't know this for a fact.

I bought a roll of bamboo towels (branded as Dragon towels) years ago for about $8 canadian. I quite like them for blotting my brushes when watercolouring. They work great for that... and I like that they're white so i can see the colour easily. A chain of dollar stores (sort of... they have stuff up to a few dollars) up here called Dollarama sold a different brand for a bit for $2, but not recently.

I usually read the negative reviews first and then I'll read the favorable ones next. That way I can balance the hype in most cases. The problem is that not all negative reviews are authentic. Buyers Beware! A lot of the negative reviews are bogus on Amazon -- even the ones with the so-called 'verified purchase' in the review. The problem is, competitors will buy a competing product and then trash it, sometimes giving the advice to buy their own product instead. Then they request a refund. They are not out any cash for their efforts to undermine the competition. They will go as far as damaging the goods too or make it appear as if they received used merchandise, which by the way is illegal unless it has been resold as refurbished or remanufactured. Retailers cannot resell used products as news otherwise that would be fraudulent. That's not to say that the product was returned as unopened making it still new, but sometimes people try out products and then craftily rebox the product as if it was not used, but sometimes there is the residue leftover from use that they miss or there are items that were not returned as well. You get the idea. People lie...

I love the idea of the Flip It. Certainly, this isn't a new idea but it's the first time I've seen it as an add on. Condiment manufacturers figured this out years ago, but as your review points out, there are many products that could use an inverted bottle that don't come that way. As you point down, it's products that are extremely viscous which make Flip It a fantastic product. No more waiting for that last bit of material to flow from the bottom to the top of a container.

To prevent steam burns when draining into the sink, run cold water out of your faucet into the sink concurrently to mix with the hot water and it will reduce the steam.

Hint for the pot strainer...put it on the pot BEFORE the water boils. I have been using mine for about 2 years...I like it but can’t strain more than a pound of pasta. So it’s good if your not making more than a pound. It takes a lot longer to strain all the water, but it’s great because it takes up so little space in the cabinet AND in the dishwasher 👍
