I love that you, you mentioned being very prepared. Because when you show up super prepared, it is much easier to truly worship. It’s pretty hard to worship and worry about remembering your guitar part at the same time.
First of, everything you said was very important. I’m glad you mention the audio engineer, so many worship teams don’t realize that he/she is a very big part of the band and needs to be treated like the rest of the band. As a guitarist coming from secular world and have gotten save , it’s not so much about how great of a musician one can be concerning worship and praise, although it is a plus and it is needed but at the same time not really. I’m all about getting parts done and tight and some more, but, I prefer someone who’s spent time in the word and prayer all week to prep for Sunday and being an awesome witness around non believers and fellow believers.. GOD JESUS said follow me, not play for me. Christian first musician last…
Stay humble and be adaptable! It’s hard, especially when you’re the type who is a perfectionist to a fault but I can attest that just simple reminding myself to just stay humble, makes all the difference.
Lesson 6 is something that is very important. If we are focused on our playing and not our worship, our playing goes for naught. God has been showing me how important focusing on Him while playing is.
I agree with you... but for myself, I NEED to focus on what I am playing (in context of course) to be able to provide a sound that allows others to worship without being distracting. :)
