A new different generation than Michael Jordan's and Shaq! These guys are busting-out with moves I've never seen ANYBODY do before; not Michael Jordan, not Shaq, not Kobe! Every generation brings new life to the game.
I have to agree with the comment above. I'm old school to the heart, but I have to say Jokic is the closest player I've ever seen to Bird, even on a par with him.
Passes like Magic Johnson, shoots the fadeaway like Jordan, can do behind the back crossover dribble like Allen Iverson, blocks like Mutombo, can do the Hakeem Olajuwon dream shake and after all that smiles like Elmer Fudd
Passes more like Stockton than Johnson. Has the brain of Larry Brid. I love his footwork, it reminds me of a slightly slow downed version of Shawn Kemp.
I'm sure your comment is implying good perspectives but, there's a perspective that part of myself could see where your comment could be insinuated as coming from, " you think other people that exist besides yourself are here to just entertain you?" I was wanting to add that his qualities and knowledge of this sport are mere fractions of the rest of his qualities and importance for others. Though he is skilled in a sport, I wouldn't want to just perceive the secular capability of a human being as just entertainment. It's also a reminder of the hard work it takes, the mental and physical grit, the importance of remembering not everyone is evil and some use their free will to create sportsmanship like atmospheres. Where many groups of people or like minded individuals can congregate and work together, etc. I apologize if I seem like I'm attacking you because I'm not. I just want to emphasize a little more on the subject of how some people look at others as merely entertaining and that's all.
Watching this man play basketball is like watching art. He plays at his own pace. He gets everyone involved. He makes it look simple. He’s skilled and he has one of the highest basketball IQ”s in the NBA.
You put this vid side by side with Bird's mixtape highlight vid and their playing styles are so similar. Down to the tip passes, between the legs passes(own and others), blind over the shoulder pass, dump offs/assists, no look passes, 1 v 1 moves on offense, and even the shot style.
Smart hoops!! Love watching the way these guys read each other on the court. Joker all but guarantees a score on each return of it gets to his hands because he knows where to put it. Jokic and Murray read other SOOO well!!
Honestly, you can just upload any of his 4th quarter against the Pelicans in close games. If you haven't seen it, its Jokic scoring répertoire - whole Pelicans team on fire vs only Jokic & we always end up losing.
Intelligent BBall. Amazing to watch. Few players would handle old school games J just has IT and he would fit right in. Kind of reminds me of a "silent" Bird. It would be cool to see McClung go there.
We have had several game changers so far ( Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul, Shaq, LeBron...) and we can say that Jokić is one of them. This guy literally plays from 1 to 5.
@@anklepick9524Jokic defensive numbers this and last two seasons are top 10 in NBA. This narrative that his defense is bad is completely false. Used to be many seasons ago.
Hvala Nikola!
This is the kind of ball I like to watch. Joker rewards his teammates for cutting, for being open. He says it himself, he prefers the assist because two teammates are happy plus his accuracy on passing is amazing although they better have good eyesight, strong hands and have an awareness of how and where Joker will pass! Actually watching Joker and looking at his stats give me an appreciation of what Lebron has accomplished?
THIS MILLENNIAL generation of basketball players are doing things I've NEVER SEEN BEFORE! And boy are they are GOOD AT IT! What a pleasure to watch how SKILLFUL and SHREWD they are at handling that ball. They are SEVERAL NOTCHES ABOVE the players of just 20 years ago. WOW!
I would like to make the joke, "If Kevin McHale and Larry Bird gave birth," or schwantz-ride one era over another . . . instead, I think I'll just be grateful to have lived long enough to have seen both of them in one lifetime. #goatofURchoice
The level of awareness necessary for Jokic team mates is off the charts, the ball can come to them at any minute from any angle, virtually unpredictable, you have to play with a 6th sense awareness.
Jokic is great and the refs try to diminish him. He gets hacked on every shot and the fouls are not called. If a player comes within ten feet of Embid he goes to the line.
This dude is unreal. I hate watching his jumpshot (I just think it looks ugly) but man oh man is he good. Deep respect for his ability. When it’s all said and done, he will go down as an all-time great
@@BoyOnBike4 You're 100% right. I've never seen a game; never played it; etc cause I was born yesterday. I didn't live through 80s and 90s basketball at all. No Swiss cheese defense here. This is the absolute peak era of basketball, right? Another effing Mama's basement basketball expert commenting on my post. Man, sports video comments are the worst and here's example #10 million.
