Speaking with Yves and Gyeon we understood where I went wrong. I used gyeon syncro on my car and only returned me 8 months and this was x2 coats of MOHS and 1 coat of skin. Basically I used 3m polish before hand and not Gyeon polish which didn't allow correct bonding due to polymers in the polish! Hope this helps others

@@Tony-ps9qk yes, I did it on the night before, and in the morning before any costing applied

You do not need to use Gyeon polishes in order to use the Gyeon coatings. period. That would be insane. I use rupes polishing compounds and have never had a single issue with any of gyeons coatings.

Dear Rory, I have to clarify some things here: First, I did not state that you can only use GYEON polishes, many that have used other polishes have had zero issues, you used one that is known for causing many issues. As a company we have a very respectful policy towards other brands, everybody has a place or a purpose in his or her market and it’s impossible to mention all possible errors that potentially could be made. BUT, to avoid problems due to the use of certain products from certain brands or wrong techniques we put a lot of effort in writing a manual, a manual that is provided in every single coating package. After polishing and before applying a coating we ask to wash the car with hot water and dishwashing liquid, this to avoid the problems you had and by doing so we don’t need to blame another brand. This is a mandatory procedure, one you did NOT follow! We also helped and try to find your problem, not always easy as there are many variables that can be missed but we tried to support you in finding the cause. I find it pretty unfair to blame GYEON, after all you didn’t read the manual. In all honesty I wish you all the best with your future coating application whatever brand you choose. A free tip: read the manual, if there is any. Regards, Y.

I have a question I just bought Gyeon Q2 LeatherShield. The production date is 10/20 so the product is 13 months old. Should I use it or return this product? İt is unopened but I'm not sure in which conditions it was kept. What is the shelf life of unopened product?

If the product is unopened and has been stored properly, it can be kept that way for 24months. Enjoy! T.

how many ml of product are used for a machine?

Good night, Yves. Congratulations on the video! I have two questions: should the microfiber towels that are used when applying the coating be discarded or can they be recycled for other purposes? Is washing microfiber towels able to remove polymer from the microfiber coating? Grateful for the attention. Waston Ribeiro -Brazil

High concentration SiO2 coatings form silica crystals when they dry on microfiber towels. Washing may remove some, but not all. Those crystals are as hard as your coating, and harder than the clearcoat/ paint. Since "it takes a diamond to cut a diamond", by this axiom it means your SiO2 crystals will scratch your coating, because they are the same hardness, and definitely will scratch clearcoat or paint. Never mix them with new towels, or wash them with ones that you use for paint or interior gloss surfaces. Towels are relatively inexpensive; your paint is not. Better to retire them to engine-bay or general shop-towel use. Best to sacrifice them by disposing of them after use to prevent problems later, and protect your hard work on your investment.

Thanks. Microfibres used for coating can be reused but don’t use them on nicely polished paint it to remove another coating. You will have loss of performance and great chance to make microscratches. For engine bay and wheelarches they still can serve, cut if a corner of your towel so you are able to see which ones have been used for coating in the past. ✌🏻 Regards, Y.

Hi,I just recently applied can coat and unfortunately i have later realised that i have streaking,I have tried removing with prep and cureas i have run out of can coat but no luck,I don't wont to machine polish it,so would the streaking eventually go away if so how long would it take?a product similar to can coat but you can use it outdoors when is that coming out? Thankyou

@zachliechti5476 2 года назад
Unfortunately can coat is a ceramic paint sealant, so like ceramic coating high spots; the high spots from can coat are gonna be there for a while. I'd say anywhere from 9 to 18 months before they dissappear naturally. Your best bet is to polish and restart. Also a side note, if you used the entire bottle of can coat to do one car you used way to much. You should use between 2 and 3 ounces. Hope this helps.

It depends how heavy the spot is. In some cases you can try to remove it with Q2M Waterspot Remover and multiple wipe ins. You can also try a Gyeon Polish or Primer by hand. Regards, Y.

If some streaking left, should I polish again with compound paste?
@zachliechti5476
@zachliechti5476 2 года назад
Yes, it is a ceramic based sealent and like a ceramic coating high spots will need to be polished or compounded.
@jaaphoogendijk671
@jaaphoogendijk671 2 года назад
If you see the streak within a small time window, you can re-apply the coating over the streaking to make it liquid again, after which you might be able to wipe it off. If not, try removing it with polish in the usual approach: go from a light polish to a heavier compound, and the lighter the polish needed, the better.
