You forgot to mention that Pitcairn Island's most famous resident was Fletcher Christian, who brought some of the BOUNTY mutineers there to hide from the Royal Navy. (They mostly killed each other off in a few years, but one survived and got pardoned when they finally found him.) BTW, the "cunha" in Tristan da Cunha is pronounced "koon-ya." (Ditto piranha--both words come from Portuguese.)
Quite a good pieces on the Islands of the world.I did quite a few years living in the Pacific , especially the Fijian Island and Vanuatu, my favorite I think because you can still swim in the blue pool where, Bing Crosby and Dorothy La more bathed in WW2. !!!!.I must say one gets a bit ratty at times. There is still a lot to see of WW2 on the Solomon Isl.,Thanks for loading on U tube.
I would be worried about getting injured and not having a doctor close by. Other than that I wouldn't mind, especially an island with that super clear blue green water. Put on the scuba gear and go exploring everyday. Healthy seafood, organically grown fruits and vegetables, and an ice cold beer every now and then.Ahhhh.
