Anglers, After speaking with some excellent fishermen from the northeast, I asked them to view this post and comment on these fishing techniques and if they would work in the Rhode Island Connecticut New York region. They absolutely will Work beautifully!!
I live close to Gulf Shores & although I started out strictly surf casting, over time got to where I enjoy the jetties and inlets a lot more, looking for flounder. I like being able to fish the same tactics for the most part and just adjusting weight for the water column & strike zones. Love saltwater jig fishing!
To take the time to explain your list and with the passion of a fisherman is outstanding! Fishing is so damn addicting. I appreciate your passion and appreciate tips you’ve provided. Thank you
Man they can be some of the toughest fish out there to catch. I’ve had lots of days where I spend more time scratching my head and then some days it’s almost every cast. Stay at it brother, you’ll get em!
Big tournament coming up in 3 weeks I hope your video helps me I can't wait to try the buck tail, it's a slam tournament first place is a hobie 14' 360 Mike iaconelli edition with a wrap and a bunch of extras
Bro you really are about one of the best inshore fisherman ive seen. I have been binge watching you and you know your shit. Can u recommend a good bait caster for salt water?
Not even gonna lie, just watching you and taking the tips and inshore info you share, i have became such a better trout angler, im 32 been flounder fishing since i was 10 and i never really been able to intice them to bite, im getting better now. Not sure if you know it or not but every bit of info u take the time to put out, im taking it in. Thanks for that brother
I took a reel with a bober and sparkle thingy with a piece of shrimp on the end and caught 5 flounder back to back. Biggest was only 18 inches, the smallest was obviously 15.
Awesome channel bro glad I found it, Im from WA gonna go and try and hit some flounder/sand dabs in the puget sound in the future. Great tips bro keep em coming
THANKS BROTHER SO GLAD I FOUND YOU JUST RETIRED , I am a small mouth guy and love to fish flounder you just fired Me up . THANKS I FISH A LOT OF PADLE TAILS I HAVE ONLY FISHED FLOUNDER WITH LIVE BAIT .
@@dougmarshall2684 glad you like the channel!! I use live bait from time to time but there’s something about feeling that thump on an artificial lure! Thanks for the support hope the video helps out!
this is fantastic and I certainly agree, but the video assumes people either already have all these rods and reels or are able to afford them. But what if you cannot or are on a budget? That’s me. I just gotta retie every time. I definitely plan to get more rods and reels but decent quality combos run at least 200 USD from what I have seen. And, so I am stuck with my one rod and reel, currently.
I like the way you think. I also have seen people fishing with 2 or 3 feet of leader. My question is what month is the best time to fish for flounder? I live down south and I go to Port Aransas Aransas pass in those areas not to mention corpus Christi. What month is the best time to go?
Great video. I live in Pensacola and frequently fish Bayou Cumbest (MS/AL line). Im looking for the "flats jig" but cant seem to replicate that jig. 8:17
These flats jigs are Tsunami flats jigs from Field and Stream but the best flats jigs on the market are Buggs Flats Jigs. You can get those on the Buggs Jigs website.
it is possible though, lol. Fishing on Calcasieu, Louisiana, my dad literally and actually caught a “rat” redfish and a hard head on the same hook, at the same time. Durned hardhead tried to steal the shrimp from the redfish hahaha. We got a picture to prove it too!
I was replying to something else how it got hooked up with the flounder I will never know..sorry about that ....I’m in the uk and looking for tips that may work this side of the pond 😃😃🇬🇧 I think we’re missing a trick of two over here in the uk .....I must come over to the states fishing once we’re allowed to travel again .ive been to the Bahamas but not fished the states yet ...tight lines be good andy thomas 👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
Excellent video, thank you. I use a Carolina rig here in the UK for bass fishing with worm bait. What bait do you use on that rig? I'd like to try and catch more flounders as they have become harder to find where I live, I'm looking at trying a few new methods.
Good video they brother. I like those setup. Please man you and your family. I'm praying that everything will turn out okay for you. I know we going to have some load coming towards your area. I know you will been busy but I would like to meet you for a minute if I'm in your area. Well this is if my job would let me drive. I went kayaking this weekend and dislocated my shoulder that I just got out of the cast back here in June or July. Again man you and your family please stay safe.
Great vid I would also add a float and a jig head and use that to pull flounder off rock bottoms because of the abilty to put that minnow or any bait just close enough to skim the bottom
Great video! I love #4 Carolina rig...I use 1/2 or 3/4 oz. If it wont work than the current is too strong. I go to my next spot. 8" to 10" is perfect length leader as well. Last week in 2 days I caught 35 or so flounder in the same spot. Damnit Jim! I use 2/0 kahle hooks and love em. Used to not set the hook on circle hooks and lost a bunch at the boat when they would spit the hook. . Lol you know your stuff bro! Not a fan of artificial. Flats jig is same as Bucktail?
Bro I ain’t throwin no tandem rig 😂 😂 that’s just a recipe for disaster for me lol I’d have that joint all jacked up on every cast and just end up throwing that shit right into the inlet 😂
Hey, just wanted to agree with you on the flats jig. If you don’t know about them you def need to check out Buggs lures they are by far the best I’ve come across. I really highly recommend them!
