5 Networking Tips for Introverts 

Happy Sunday everyone! This week it's a video on networking tips for introverts! Let us know what you think! Also, you guys might noticed that we have been producing fewer and fewer videos. The truth is our funds is starting to dry out and we need to be a bit more selective with the rate of our production. Hope you guys won't mind that! Networking? Not working 😑

But why should I get more friends? I have three very good friends and that's enough for me. Quality over quantity.

How my conversations go: they don't.

My conversations: "Hey, i don't have any friends" My conversations after this video: "Hey, i don't have any friends, and i like genderfree Puppies. What about you? Am i talking too much? "

I don't like the word networking, the whole thing seems shady. I see it as just go out and make a new friend for no personal gain. It works out way better I think

The longest I've ever gotten in a conversation is, "How are you?", and then it dies.

"Oh... You believe dogs should be gender-fluid.... Why?"

Networking? I know how to do that. So, if you're using Java you will want to start by importing the fitting java.net packages... Oh. Wait.

Wow, this is very useful and helpful! Thank you!~ 💕 But what happens when you get tired of talking or even listening to someone else? Because I get like that where I just want silence. What do I do then without being or seeming rude? 😅

Conversations are soooooo hard sometimes! That's why texting is 100000000 times better and easier, I can send people texts that fill up 4 to 5 phone screens but when I have to talk to them in person I often lack ideas what to talk about... and then after the conversation I'm like "wait, I could have said this and that too... dammit, now it's too late!"And networking is hell. I just want to have my little circle of friends and not have to deal with more people ^sigh^

If someone thinks, dogs should be genderfluid, I turn around and go. I don't need such dimwitts in my network...

I won’t be able to do any of that but I think I’m quite socially anxious

But we should avoid asking questions without any kind of information about ourselves, because no one wants to be interrogated by a stranger haha. So maybe something like "so what made you come here?" They'll be like, "my friend made me come here." Then you reply with "oh! That's funny, my friend made me come here too. I dunno why, though. She told me to be her emotional support, but there she is fine, hanging out with people I don't know." And maybe they'll continue off about that. If theyy don't, maybe you can ask. Unless thry really seem like they don't give a shit hahaha

I only like to talk with people who have things in common with me, is it a bad thing?

I somehow feel that this video wasn't made by anyone with real, serious introversion. Tips that work for extroverts will not work for the 90+% introvert. Besides, we don't *_need_* a network, or acquaintances, or Facebook friends. We're good.

As an introvert I found Music is the best way to connect. Once I find out someone I just met likes similar music, I have a lot of stuff to discuss and it makes it really easy for me to do a lot of talking. I can't count how often I met friends via music.

This is really helpful for someone like me who can be very awkward to talk to. I think I will start gradually weaving these helpful tips into conversations. I think it's all about baby steps and seeing what does and doesn't work. Thanks for this refreshing video!

Awww! I find this cute! Because my online boyfriend is an introvert! We always have fun talking and he says: gotta keep the ball rolling when we run out of things to say! My conversations : "You like cats? I've A lot of cats at home" Or "Do you like to eat ? Ahah of course you does " (awkward silence ) If I can't take it anymore "Oh Shit! I really need to go! Bye" And then run away as fast as I can

After you've got to know someone I just say Hi then how are you and that's it.

Networking is actually really good if you running a business so I think it is a good trade to learn.

Whenever I try to socialise nd get comfortable with them nd get out of my shell a bit more, something happens tht pushes me back in 🤦🏽‍♀️ The cause of it all is *Networking*

What I find hard is not starting a conversation with a stranger but having a second one if I meet them again or if I want to have another one.

Oh man this is helpful. I used to think I was great at starting a conversation and keeping it going, but once I graduated I realized that my go to was always to talk about how school has been, and I can no longer do that so I draw a blank every time.

An alternate title would be "An Introvert's Guide to Making Friends"

Okay, this came in handy. I run out of questions easily. Talking to new people on a social site has helped quite a bit. Now I just have to start networking face to face and maybe I'll start feeling better.

I only use networking in conection with computers

Thank you so much for this video! I'm an introvert that just graduated from community college. All my friends have been the ones I grew up with since elementary/middle school. I'm heading to Uni in a few weeks with completely new faces and places to meet. I'm terrified but this video is great!! Thank you so much!!

If you feel awkward to talk to a stranger, just remember, they don't know you yet, so you have to make the best first impression and if it fails, at least you tried.

I want to go for entrepreneurship but I HATE socialising and I HATE humans in general. I don't feel the need to converse with people because I'm convinced nearly everybody around me is an idiot (no, I'm not a narcissist) and I don't want people bothering me.

Networking is a sham, it's just a new phrase for "what can you do for me". I value my time and don't want to be bogged down with b.s. state your case, if there are fallacies with it, then I'll say something. If it's complete garbage and cant be salvaged, your future input will be ignored. I just don't like people wasting my precious time.

I'm mainly focused on finding simularitys like you pointed out but I'm always nervous to ask like what am I gunna say or am I just gunna make a reference and hope they get normally I just end up saying "hay do you like ________?" But the answer is usally no....

Mimic them.gesture, posture, may be even accents. Everybody likes someone of their own type.

I mean... it's a way to network I suppose. But the idea feels so, _so_ wrong to me... Like, I seek few deep relationships with other people. Even if I were to overcome my rather consequent fear at the idea of "networking", that wouldn't suppress the fact that the concept means I make relationships for the sake of having more of those, not for any amount of interest in the person. It seems just _so_ backwards. I can give the impression of connecting, but then I won't have actually connected with the person, they might think I have but I likely won't. If I were to connect to this person, then need to use that connection later on, I probably won't remember jack sheez about the person, let alone feel any bond with them. Also, I can fake through it all I want, I still have mental batteries to maintain and if I'm drained, I'm drained. Game over. Conversation won't go much further and I'll probably seek any way not to talk to anyone out of pure reflex.

I have some other way to deal wtih small talks or "networking". I am asking questions all the time, shaking head, looking into eyes, pretending to be very interested, and the other person is talking. I don't say anything about me and I give an impression that I care what other have to say (while I don't, when it's not my friend).

So Dogs should not have gender identities?, how am I supposed to tale you serious if you say stupid stuff like that, even if you were using it as an example, you do know that dogs and cats are not human, and rely mostly off instinctsand do not have the ability to understand the concept of a purpose or self worth. Of course they want to feel cared for, and not be neglected or abused, but at the end of the day its about, food/water, shelter, and breeding. So just stop.
