⚡Watch my latest Gold Dasher Rewards shift here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LxpkQ9qldxA.html&t BONUS: Another NEW Dasher app feature is 'Estimated Wait Time'. While online waiting for offers DoorDash will display the average wait time until your next offer. Use this with your market knowledge to wait in the best areas, minimizing this wait time.
I am new dash at Seattle sign up 04/01/2024 one order offer is that unusual my account locked 7 times and unlocked 7 times after that I don't get order offer at all can you help please
You can now block customers via their new SafeChat (help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/SafeChat?language=en_US) but nothing that preemptively blocks customers/neighborhoods.
On the dash preferences they need to add delivery location outside zone to be refused. This is a huge problem in my area. 10+ miles = 20+ mins one way. There is not enough compensation when you are not even able to get new offers because your outside the Danny zone
Yep exactly. I dash in Medford Oregon and there's alot of rural areas 5-6 miles out of town. I've gotten orders that take me on dirt roads and properties that you have to drive up gravel hills. I drive a prius and it ain't all fun needless to say
The way they design zones is absolutely ridiculous. There is a Hotspot near me that will put you out of the zone entirely if you are 100 feet behind the store.
The acceptance rate is higher here in Southern California. It's 60% for silver, 80% for gold and platinum. Completion rates are 95% and 97% to reach Gold and platinum smh.
I'm driving a 2019 Corolla, hitting about 36 mpg doing the dashes. Just North of New Orleans. Platinum, which requires 70 percent acceptance rate and customer rating of 4.7 and 100 deliveries in 30 days. I've been doing this and Spark full-time for about 2 months now and can make up to $20/hr during busy times, but goes down drastically when not busy or late night.
Great info as usual. I really dislike the driving monitor. yes on mine it says I can NOT see it BUT that don't turn it OFF, simply HIDES IT. My AR has tanked and I don't care I do this to Make money NOT give them free service. I'm on the road Full-time using my 98 4X4 Tahoe gas guzzling Beast so if I cant justify 2.00+ per mile it's declined without a second thought. Lately both UE and DD have been constantly getting worse orders. May be time for other side gigs. Best of Luck to ALL
Thank you, and thanks for sharing. Yeah the driving monitor I get it safety is always #1 but we're on the road much more than most and understand driving.
I like the change so that a batched order accept or decline only counts as one on your AR. As drivers we don’t have a choice about whether or not an incoming order is more than one, so if you are going for a certain AR and you get a horrible batched order, it hurts that much more. PLUS - before this change, for me, sometimes an accepted batch order only counted as +1, and a declined batch 2-order counted as -2.
I'm in North Dallas area (North Dallas, Carrolton, Irving, Plano, etc) and have only seen the Driver Insights. My AR over the last 7-10 days has gone from the 60s to the 30s due to garbage offers of $3.50 for 6.0 miles. 🙄
Just received an email that my area in the High Desert (Apple Valley), CA is going to have similar requirements than New York?!?! maintain at least 4.8 Customer Rating, a 80% Acceptance Rate, a 97% Completion Rate, and 150 deliveries in the last 30 days.
Maybe it's different in worse areas, but I've only had 1 weird interaction that required a return delivering alcohol. Guy didn't have ID and didn't speak English. Biggest hassle is safeway's liquor policy around here, for expensive stuff a store employee has to take it out of the case and walk it up for you and it seems like they usually stick, and I don't mean this in a bad way, special needs employees on liquor cabinet duty, so explaining which item I need sometimes adds up to an extra 2 or 3 minutes to the order. I generally love alcohol deliveries though, they're usually 15+ dollars for only a mile or two with 1 item, had some of the chillest interactions too chatting about favorite whiskeys with customers. Of the "required ID" orders, a cold medicine delivery was the worst I've ever had, not an alcohol delivery. Customer was at a homeless shelter and only had his prison ID. Ended up needing to call his mom who had placed the order. Alcohol deliveries are easy high pay orders, you don't need to be scared!
Platinum I hear you need a minimum of 150 deliveries in 30 days now and an acceptance rate of 80%. This was I believe in Modesto/Stockton California as I was passing through while working my regular W2 job.
I have received those route offers. Good money here in NYC. The f'cked up part is that if you decline, your AR goes down drastically according to how many deliveries there are in the route
im from Victorville where we dont have the new tier program where im at 69% AR but when i visit my parents in los Angeles where the new program is installed my rates bumps up to 77% and i turn gold
I just received an email and I'm in Apple Valley. Looks like the Highest rate is similar to New York: maintain at least 4.8 Customer Rating, a 80% Acceptance Rate, a 97% Completion Rate, and 150 deliveries in the last 30 days. Are they making these changes to everyone. I can't imagine that we have the same market size as they do...
Anyone know why when you decline an offer it always brings your percentage down 1, but when you accept 3 orders In a row after that, there's no positive growth on the AR?
not accepting an order -1 point stays 'till you complete a 100 deliveries then it goes up 1 point, but if you don't accept orders each denied order is -1 point, so, for every deliver you deny you need to take a 100 to recover that point
Something I fail to understand about these hub apps, is as a middleman (DD, UE, GH, IC) that is taking a very healthy cut for themselves, and tells us that we are contractors (so they can save groups of money, and liability) then treat us differently. As contractors we should accept the jobs we want, that meets our criteria, and needs period. No backlash, or punishment. WE ARE CONTRACTORS...not employees! They are a hub service, not employers. Why then do they insist, and most of us allow them to treat us like we work for them?
Hi. I really enjoy your videos thanks for all the information. I’m a dasher in MD. I drive a 22 Tesla model 3. I really want the $1/menu and Dasher Preference. Hope it comes to MD😊
The menu pic for a $1 isn’t new. I’ve been getting the option to do that for 9 months to a year and I work in a really small town so I find it hard to believe that my market would’ve gotten this first
The orders that are not at least $1 per mile shouldn’t count against you if declined. Especially if you are a top dasher. All the bs just to get an order that’s $3 for 5 miles smh
I have not seen many of the new in app features mentioned in this video yet except for the Driving Insights feature. I turned that one off almost immediately.
Taking pictures of the menu is kinda shady tbh. The reason why menu prices on DD is different from the actual menu prices is that because DD takes out a % on DD service that affects restaurants profits. Not really going to go much into details but you can watch a segment of Last Week Tonight on Food Delivery Apps.
Bro.... I'm not even worrying about features. I might be dashing much longer with the way its been lately. Dash is straight up terrible. The orders lately is braking me. $3 for 30 miles really? What has happened to Dash over the last 2 years. Ouch!
This just made me further decide to avoid doordash. As an independent Contractor I shouldn't have to schedule in the way they do. Let alone the acceptance rate bs
Tacoma wa we don't have anything. I been doing this for 2 years nothing changed still expect you to go 12 13 miles for 3.50 and if u don't want to take aa low order they punish you by llowering your percentage down . But if your 70 % or 50 % stl same type of order I Mayne at 70% and get nothing or I can't be at 50% and get a great delivery. It bs
So you can turn off that you want them to stop sending you driving tips. But does that mean that you have turned off they’re tracking you, and then selling that information to insurance companies?
The preference is a good add. One time I had a order and was force to take the L and cancel which effected my completion rate bc it wanted me to pick up alcohol and nicotine but I am not 21 so would not let me pick up. I called DoorDash and they said there was nothing they could do 😂
They don't have any insurance costs. They don't provide any commercial insurance for the drivers. This telematics information is collected by Doordash and will likely be sold to insurance companies for profit. They should not even be collecting this information as there are no paying passengers in the car.
@@mateofernando5066 agree with u but they have now some relationship with insurance companies and this will revert bad to us... EVERY SINGLE DASHER should disable this feature
@@mateofernando5066 DoorDash states, "DoorDash procures third-party auto liability insurance for Dashers involved in accidents while in the “Delivery Service” Period. Per our Independent Contractor Agreement, Dashers shall also maintain primary auto insurance with minimum limits in accordance with local law." (help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/Understanding-Auto-Insurance-Maintained-by-DoorDash?language=en_US#All%20Other%20US%20States)
Omg yes....I have been wanting the option to opt OUT of alcohol deliveries because I frankly don't feel comfortable doing those kinds of orders and it makes that customer wait longer if Door Dash offers those orders to us Dashers who prefer NOT to get these orders
The reason for the menu photos, doordash is punishing restaurants that have lower prices in store than in the doordash app. If their doordash prices are higher, doordash reduces their visibility in the app.
I love getting cash on deliver orders, because you can accept them, and then decline, which will increase your acceptance rate without lowering your completion rate.
Tony Xu loves to comment that a majority of dashers only dash about 4 hours a (week? month?). Trying to get to and maintain an of those levels (silver/gold/platinum) would be difficult working only a few hours. Keeping the rolling 200 would be almost impossible in most markets. Maybe that's a good thing for full timers.
If they cN monitor our driving then they should know when we don't move or and are in traffic. To stop sending the message you don't seem to be going in the direction. Sometimes we are stuck in traffic
Hi. I appreciate all the tips. I live in Crossville Tennessee and I am going to start doing this next week. So any helpful information that you could share would be greatly appreciated. I am currently looking through all of your RU-vid videos.
if you are new you'll be getting lots of orders, in a way that you'll question yourself "why don't I just do this instead" but it only lasts for about 4 to 6 months then it starts going down 'till like us older dashers with over the %s that DD asks us to maintain can't even get sched. to dash, don't make a mistake and quit your regular job, go make the most out of it now, you'll start your dash and almost not stop delivering as long as your up is open, because afterwards you'll be sitting ducks waiting up to 3hours for 1 order and making $10 to $30 in a full 8hrs shift, good luck
DD will give you a trial run to Dasher Rewards as a new Dasher. "For Dashers who just joined DoorDash and have completed less than 50 deliveries, we understand that it takes time to learn how to use the platform. To help you get off to a great start, new Dashers will have access to special perks on your first 50 deliveries. After you’ve completed your first 50 deliveries, you’ll be eligible to qualify for the Dasher Rewards program. With Dasher Rewards, you’ll be able to unlock multiple levels of those same perks and more."
I only see the photo option with my iPhone not my Pixel. I would like to opt out of all the zero tip orders. They need to update their driving insights for EV vehicles, I take off faster than a Ferrari, it's not my fault, gas vehicles are slow to get to speed. I think door dash just needs to stop being the only platform that requires metrics for us to meet like we are employees.
The driving analytics. 1) Safety is always a high priority. However, driving significantly below the speed limit, smooth acceleration, and smooth braking, will get a driver deactivated. Food will always be excessively late according to the AI software. 2) it would be interesting to know if the analytics is the same for cars and bikes. For example, at a red light, an ebike can accelerate a lot faster than a car when the light turns green.
That happened to me a couple days ago. It kept saying there were hotspots available but I got zero orders for like an hour. So finally, I paused my dash, then deleted the app from my phone. I reinstalled it, signed back in, and unpaused it and got an order immediately. Hope that helps!
Interesting they have this information on the dasher page (for NYC) but NYC isn't listed as being part of the dasher rewards in the later images.. typical door dash confusion.
Uber's average offer in San Francisco is 2 dollars so this means your earning Prop22 payments only, Minimum Wage. Doordash is doing like 90 percent shop and pay at Safeway, Hot Food is non existent. Uber is asking me what I think about their company to improve the servive, they dont know the can of worms this is.
Would be interetsing to see how the shop and delivery pay is for those who keep it activated after the majority of dashers in the same area turn it off.
Driving in the Camp Hill/harrisburg area, and yeah, it definitely gave me that hard acceleration and breaking last night lol. We have a ton of traffic in this area because it has exploded in population over the last 10 to 20 years. Thankfully they can't do anything about it because we're independent contractors.
DD only makes changes to benefit themselves....1. Giving you a $1 to take a photo so they have an accurate menu is gonna make DD hundreds if not thousands in profits (sorry not sorry not taking a photo). 2. Dash preferences only screws the driver out of orders and making money cause some poor fool will still do them. 3. Driver insights will benefit DD by them claiming you're an unsafe driver to get out of paying anything if you have an accident while on a delivery. Furthermore they'll sell your info to auto insurance companies so they both can profit of off you. 4. Increasing the threshold for reward levels also only benefits DD cause now you gotta take out more trash. 5. Goes with number 4. They'll stack you and with each additional delivery pay you less an less. They already do this. In conclusion DD can still SMD lol
At least in my MP of Columbus, GA, I did notice the Driver Stats. I mean, if they did give incentive for Safer Driving, this would be a good way to earn bonus money.
It’s been a while but have taken menu pic before.. did not like driving insights-opted out! Dashing preference like the idea! (Toledo) drive a Hyundai Kona. Thanks for all you do!
I got offered the pilot program to be able to adjust dash preferences but when I go into preferences, it says “shop and pay” “manage your red card” and no options anywhere to toggle off shop and pay or ANYTHING. Still my only option is if I want to take cash on delivery or not :/
Single accept and decline for stacked orders question… what if you accept one and decline the second one the try to put on u? Do u get one of each or the decline point since that was the most recent selection if that makes sense
I thought you'd include the estimated wait time feature for your area while dashing. not everyone pays attention to little details and I think that one is fantastic. I cannot wait for the ability to filter the types of dashes. I love the idea of a stacke order being one accept/decline but what about (for example) if you accept the stack then unassign two of them. will DD now count that as -1 or -2 on your completion? hmm. I'm driving in San Antonio TX in a 2015 mirage.
You know I have noticed that they give you heavy items pay at like DG and grocery store but not pet stores and that stuff is like 50lbs but no heavy item pay for that
.😮 Wow I can do that ! Kool .. the menus .. taking the pictures .. but I don't think it's here in South FL. btw. You do a great presentation Mike .. 🖐️
Is it true that some markets like in Texas and Arizona, they’re using drone delivery? Will this impact the industry significantly? Curious your thoughts.
DD just announced an expansion to their drone partnership: ir.doordash.com/news/news-details/2024/DoorDash-and-Wing-Announce-Drone-Delivery-Pilot-in-the-US/default.aspx. This expansion comes after their pilot in 2022: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fGMArJsTUmA.htmlsi=79lDAG1B82MtdiVI
@weega9852 you may have been shadow paused. DD glitch. Especially if you hit your first guaranteed per hour earnings in the first hour or you if you exceeded it. When you dont get orders in 1.5hrs, End your dash and do app troubleshoot procedure and start a new dash. That should solve it. It it does not happen, call support and ask them to reset your account on their end.
I just finished my 101st dash…where can I find all the information about what status I am? My numbers are ALL “green” the ONLY preferences I can turn on & off are the cash on delivery & driving insights .. I love your videos btw♥️
If you are in a market that has tiers (gold, silver, platinum) it will show directly on your app which one you are atm. In other markets that do not have tiers means you are a high priority dasher, meaning if your Acceptance is above 70% your customer rating over 4.7 and completion rate no lower than 95%. This will entitle you to higher paying orders before other dashers. Fall under 70% AR and you will still see some good orders. Fall below 50% AR and you will get bottom of the barrel orders. If you do fall below 50% its best to use "EARN BY TIME" to raise your AR up again or only dash when map says busy (rd) or very busy (dark red) . Dashing when maps are grey and or during non peak hrs, will lower your AR as orders are scare and DD will send you crap. Peak hrs are 11-2 lunch and 5-9 Dinner
Frogot to mention , if you want to opt out of alcohol deliveries, you can call customer service and tell them to opt you out. If you do not want to do shop and pays and you cannot toggle, go into the dasher menu and scroll down to RED CARD and click it, then mark lost/stolen. This will remove shop and pay, but you still may get orders from store if they were picked and already paid for.
Mpls. I have estimated wait time - just showed up in the last 48 hours. I also have driving stats, can hardly wait to get Dasher Preferences. I haven't seen menu photos, but I have one time had to receive a PIN from a customer.
I pickup dash orders in 2 states. The state I live in, no alcohol deliveries are allowed. The other state it is allowed, but local law enforcement is telling delivery people to not pickup any, as there are a lot fake identity cards floating around. Dashers could get in serious trouble and DD won’t support us.
