Nepalese momo has buffalo meat (cow= sacred) and south Asian spices. The last one looks like Tibetan momos and also the guy is speaking Tibetan.

Exactly! And the place name is Potala restaurant yet they say NEPALESE MOMO. They didnt mention Tibetan at all. Theye're scared of Chinese boycott and backlash

I think it's because the area the restaurant is in is called little Nepal, but yes those momos looked like tibetan momos and even the man is talking about spreading tibetan culture Also nepali momos aren't strictly limited to buffalo meat though, there's a variety of different meats used but yea cow meat is excluded

Yeah I have grandparents who live in Flushing, and whenever I go to see them I pass Corona on the 7 train. I don't think I'll ever look at that station the same way ever again.

This is so beautiful and I love the diversity, everything looks so good😍 I hope you can include a south Asian one from Jackson heights as well, like fuchkas/pani puri!! Also I love that you let them speak in the language they feel most comfortable in and that you showed the whole process of how they make it❤️

Not only is my home borough filled with great diversity, it also has the highest library circulation in the country! Take that, Manhattan! Note: not hating on any libraries, I had cards for 2 systems, Queens and the NYPL. Good times.

This is why the big US cities are so great to live in. I live in Little Tokyo in LA, right next door to Boyle Heights and near Koreatown and downtown LA. So much good food all the time.

To eat all the restaurants in NYC, it takes 12 years for Manhattan, 5.5 years for Brooklyn, half a year for Staten Island, and 3.5 years for Queens.

Philitron128 I sure will once I save enough for my first trip to Queens! 👍 and why the hell would I want to go to Manhattan? Why would anyone wanna go to such a pretentious place with no character (at least that’s what I’ve read and been told). From all places in NY I’ve looked into, I always knew Queens would be a lovely place to visit - at least for me.

Syafira Kawi I heard rent is cheaper in Queens. I checked the price, though and I still find it expensive even though it’s cheapest in New York - ranging $1700-$3000. I guess you’d have to have a better paying job to live there 😭 NY is just expensive to live in general

I'm a small town girl. I've never had an interest in seeing the bright lights and night-life of New York. What with all the People and Cars, building, noises, smells. etc. But NOW I may have to venture out. I do Love cultural diversity and celebration of cultural differences showcased in diverse food. I'm pretty sure I would try everything in this video!!

Coconut cake (serabi) today have many toppings, it could be sweet or savory coconut cake. Even a cafe near my house has nutella and chocolate cereal as toppings, and it cooked traditionally too.

Love this video, and there are still so many more! I'd recommend checking out Thai food in woodside (right next to little nepal) or Arab treats on Steinway street next... There's a schwarma joint called Duzan next to the best arab bakery in NYC called Al Sham and both are absolutely incredible

I grew up in Flushing. I dunno about these selections for best street food...havent even tried most of them either. Maybe its just me 🤷🏻‍♂️. My street food was dollar slice pizza, Jamaican patties, and Halal platters.

There’s so much more; Argentinian food, Dominican, Colombian, Italian, Ecuadorian, Cuban, the list can go on an on. Believe it or not Mexican food was one of the last to arrive. My dad had a Bodega almost at the corner of Rosevelt and Junction Blvd and I remember mingling with people from all over the world, back then (late 80’s) I remember different races used to keep to themselves, you had the Asians in one place, the Italians in another, the Colombians. There’s was lots of racial tension. I stand by this cuz I lived it.

I've gone to Crown Heights, Brooklyn NYC many times because I have cousins who live in the area. Sometime, I'll consider going to Queens NYC to try some of these foods, the next time I travel to New York City.

i appreciate this video, but bangin queens food isnt just limited to flushing/corona/jackson heights. why not check out LIC, Forest Hills, Bayside, Jamaica. surely there are other spots to match the hype.

Hard to narrow down to five being that physically we are the largest part of NYC..despite 4 large parks, 2 airports and 3 cemeteries making us the least populated of the 5 boroughs , there are many different foods to be found in every corner of the borough. Queens Blvd from start to finish itself also had a combo of every type of food

They look so good!! I just got a big propane blowtorch a few months ago to make creme brulée, but now that i have it i can try making these pancakes too!! They look amazing! I wonder what i could use as a mould to keep it deep without making a whole frying-pan sized pancake. Maybe i could actually just put one of my brulée ramekins directly on the hot plate. If i keep the temp at med-low it shouldn't break - i hope! 😅 Also totally gonna try making the Tang Yuan this weekend

Mexico takes the lead with two perfect items, it’s a winner, in second place is the pumpkin dumpling, followed by 3 rd place coconut pancakes, the last two is tied.
