I don't see any problem with the plane crash one. It was after the crash and having any form of documentation is good. While I personally probably wouldn't think of pulling out my phone to snap some footage, it's really not a stupid thing to do. What she should have done was documented footage of any injures though.
Da Chud well I think it's more the fact that she's selfifying while moving away from the wreck when ppl should be getting the hell out of there ASAP incase of an explosion : ]
Cornelious Stratovarious lol, you watch too many movies. the chance that there'd be an explosion is minimal especially considering that particular plane crash. anyway they should've been helping people get out if they weren't all cleared
The video was not for documentation she was literally using her phone to take a selfie video to update her social media or something. That is really stupid behavior in any serious situation.
Well, the girl in the plane crash had already survived and made sure of her safety before filming. So unless you think the plane is going to explode....
i was kinda thinking the same thing. i thought maybe she was filming it for posterity's sake, and the only way she can walk forward while still flming the crash site/plane was to turn the camera on her.
beberoo +MsSphinx91 makes sense I mean, don't we all go through those "I wonder what they were think when this happened" or whatever. Now we have the evidence of what they were thinking! And we know they're ok, so much ok that they're able to turn on their cameras and film and put in on the internet.
Or all three of you are the exact people the video is talking about, yep that is it. Because I never wonder what a plane crash is like when I hear about one, my compassionate human heart wonders if everyone on board is safe, and for peaceful thoughts and hearts for those who may have lost someone. Egocentric people will be the death of human life on this planet.
Charles McClellan really? Never wondered what the people on the titanic were thinking when they were waiting to die? what people think about before jumping out of a plane while skydiving? Take Anne Frank's Diary for instance, we knew what SHE went through and what she thought while in hiding, and it's known as a literary classic and staple in reading. Videos are just what people do now instead of writing, or telling the same stories all the time aloud, we make videos so we don't have to keep thinking about it. All the feelings and thoughts they're all still in their rawest form, and easier for people to understand their relief as they live, or their pain while in a panicked state. Understand?
@@merchernel123 They fired everyone. Have you not noticed that all of the good content from Cracked ended in 2017? The only part that's left is Some News (Some More News).
@@HealthyAndrew There are no gods, snowflake. If you don't want to hear people mock silly beliefs, limit yourself to church and home, and you will be fine.
+Knn B Because tons of people have been brainwashed into not really getting into the movie. Video games that don't need much or any story (it's a game), texting, tweeting, even e-mails, and other lazy social abbreviated ways of "communicating" which have proven to make more people confused, wrongly accused, and make guesses out of context.... have made today's average person's attention span the same as a fly. Those types have multiplied, mistaking the "no worries" behavior as "cool", and watch movies jawing away with conversation, chewing one of the loudest foods (popcorn) with mouths open, using their cell phone, coming in late to the film, and various mixes of all the above distractions. THAT'S why "tons" of people love Bay's movies; they aren't really watching the movies! They can look up at any time during their shallow world of distractions, see an explosion, and think it's good. Michael Bay's films have gotten away with exciting people into buying a ticket because the trailers show big things happening. After the film, viewers aren't even sure what happened. Then they use that same attitude to glaze over good films and disturb others actually trying to enjoy it. Yeah, he should put down the camera.
+Raz Edits Him and others insisting on the brainless over-use of handheld camera work, constant low-light close-ups, and insisting on the descending bass note with everything that happens in the trailer. The fight scenes are sometimes ridiculous, obviously shot by someone never in a fight. It's not THAT shaky. Jesus! I've been in many, trained for MMA before it got popular, and wrestled all my life. If things are that shaky and unbalanced up close or inside a fight, you're probably losing all of them. Can they just shoot a good film? I wish they would quit with the tricks and make films that keep you really glued to them, so you forget you're in the theater. So many directors get away with that cheap shot laziness because many viewers are used to video games, just like the director. Nothing wrong with getting IDEAS from the games, but for f---'s sake stop making the films even LESS realistic by making them look like good video games.... which still don't look nearly as good as real life. It's a backwards step.
At least in the case of the avalanche, it was probably too late to run away, and the guy probably realized that... So why not laugh? The guy in the car, on the other hand, was just a full-on idiot. He _chose_ to do what he was doing.... >
Man I think the worst part of that wildfire one was all the people just parked, standing by their cars watching the fire, at least the idiots recording it were driving away.

My dad & I used to drive directly at storms when I was a kid taking along whoever else was in the car (we really should have let my sister out). This was 30yrs ago, well before even video cameras were that common but we are Australian (it’s like Russian but with more swearing)
2:14 - I'm pretty sure that moment was "the invention of the Iphone", or technically "the commercial viability of the Iphone as a mass-market product".
Yes, we as a species are totally going downhill now that we can film ourselves. It's not like people didn't used to do really stupid shit before. It's not like bear-baiting was ever a thing. It's not like people participated in dangerous, possibly deadly sports for fame and glory. It's not like we have portraits that rich dudes paid lots of money and invested a fair bit of time to posing for hanging as examples of art. Everyone likes attention, and seeks it out a fair bit. Main difference now is, rather than the story circulating to a small audience for a short while before fading, we have the internet, which is a large audience who won't let you forget that thing you did. Ever. And we have proof it happened, rather than some dudes dubious claim.
+Fera Fish Indeed, the implication that just recording something you are observing or experiencing is wrong is highly debatable. I for one found the last clip of the guy sitting in the passenger seat to be the most fitting example of what this video was trying to relate, but some of the other examples seemed completely out of place, just clips of people recording something amazing or unusual (for instance the plane, what's wrong with recording a video after you get off & are waiting for people to come get you?).
This is what happens when the world gets too safe. Pre-health and safety, THESE were the people who would have forgotten to 'mind the gap' or not thought to 'stay well back from ledge' or just plain starved to death because they were too stupid to not eat the red berries that just killed their friend. By giving them warnings, and airbags, and holding their hands through this dangerous world we are effectively discontinuing natural selection. Though we do get some funny videos out of it, so maybe its a fair trade. Plus, come the apocalypse these guys will be great zombie fodder - just tell them to film the horde for posterity while you run like hell.
Duh.. the last one took me a second to realize he's in the wrong seat. Assumed, another country, wheels on the right side sometimes.... yes, I missed the last 4-5 seconds of him showing the dashboard in front of him.
If you're in the middle of a disaster natural or otherwise that is out of your control, I can understand why you'd think "may as well record this in case I survive." Can you imagine surviving some crazy shit and having people call you a liar the rest of your life because "where's your proof?" Although if you're driving a car and some crazy shit happens you should have a passenger hold the camera, or get a dash cam just in case.
One would think natural selection would take care of them, but some how through courage, bravery, blind luck, and possibly a numb sense that something is danger combined together to keep these people alive.
The plane crash one wasn't really stupid. It wasn't during the crash, it was after she got off safely. I'm sure she was pretty overwhelmed emotionally anyway.
People have always thought they were the eternal, invulnerable center of their own universes. This is just a natural progression. Some outgrow or evolve past it, but not many.
Or the video of her after the airplabe crash was to simultaneously show all of her friend's and family that she was okay after her plane FUCKING CRASHED.
#1 - run or probably die. #2 - #3 - don't do that or probably die. #4 - stupid, don't do that or maybe die. #5 - stupid, don't do that or maybe die. Oh, I skipped a statement on #2? Ok. #2... you already survived; there's no reason to run, fight, or really do much of anything special. It's not like actions now will prevent the plane crash that already occurred. Maybe pick something else for #2. It doesn't seem to fit. Unless you're arguing she was the pilot, and taking selfies as the plane crashed. Feel free to read the above in the same tone as the guy in the video... seems to work pretty well.
Is it Crack'ed'ing, or Crack'ding? This video made me throw up my hands a bunch of times and yell "What are you DOING?!" I have turned into an overly worried mother, and the idiots of the internet are my accidental and unwanted children. Dammit.
Reminds me of my mom. Recently she has proven that she does indeed love me, but I think she is a little overprotective. I live alone, but I got into a motorcycle accident nearly six months ago, and, without going into detail, she is much, much more aware of my existence, and I get the feeling she now believes she must be more a part of my life in order for me to stay safe. Even to the point of trying to regulate it. It's annoying, but hey, the point is I've been on the receiving end of this as an adult.
