Thank you Raelan - great video. Now that I've begun recovering a bit, I've noticed that it's easy to get wrapped up in life again and it's demands. We 100% need to prioritise ourselves. Thank you for the reminder! ❤
Thank you so much, Wally! For sure - it's easy to get caught up in the daily grind, especially when you start feeling better. Thanks for the love, and keep putting yourself first! 😊
I’m not aware of anyone who has solved the ME/CFS puzzle as succinctly as you Raelan. I’m always coming back to your videos to remind myself how to stay on track. Around 80% recovered since I came across your channel earlier this year and much of that came in the first month binge watching the interviews and implementing stuff to calm my CNS. You’re a godsend. Just need to do the final stage. All in good time. Great tips here as usual.
You are so right. I have been type Aing my recovery, setting goals, milestones etc. I need to surrender to the process more and stick to what I know will help me heal. I will say I was doing really well, from housebound to 10k a day one year. But I have had a relapse and right now it's hard not to let fear and "the worst case" take over my mind. That is why I keep coming back to your channel. From a mental health perspective it's a life saver, from a physical health perspective it really helps a lot.
I tried so hard with the ANS REWIRE program, which is brilliant. But I wasn't ready, brought my A type tendancies to it and even then came so close to recovery I felt big changes. Then intense menopause symptoms and 2 years+ of relapse. Now on HRT and finally evened out, I'm looking to start the healing process again. I'm feeling jaded and just not too sure how to get my mojo back again. Started watching your videos, perhaps that will help. ❤
I had recovered 70%. I was getting great, restorative sleep, then became homeless because of the shutdown, then the car blew up. Being on disability and having those who didn't leave me when I got sick, leave me then. Because the gastroporesis is so bad now, I'm not getting good sleep anymore, and I have no money for things to help. Plus, trying to find transportation, and finding a place to live takes presidence, making health much worse If I could just sleep and be able to go for my walks again, that helped me recover so much Get my gastroporesis treatments again.
You are an angel, Raelan. My heart absolutely breaks for your mom, and for you who had to see her suffer, and then suffer yourself. Thank you for making this your mission to help others ❤
Very good video! A long time ago, Gez Medinger suggested that maybe LC could be related to me/cfs. I think it was in 2021, only a few months after I got LC. At the time, me and so many people said no to this theory, as for them, me/cfs was a life sentence. This was a mistake, a big mistake. Now with all the recovery stories, I understand that in many many cases, LC is "only" me/cfs triggered by covid. Then I discovered this amazing channel and started to have good progress. Thank you!
Thanks so much for these videos!!❤️ I’m recovering, slowly and I get frustrated. The anxiety is a beast. I am feeling less guilty after your video’s… taking more time to just rest and stop pushing myself and it definitely helping!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
These apply to healthcare givers as well. I can see recovery for them - they don’t. They don’t become a priority for me …. And so forth - great stuff for me as well Rae - heartfelt thanks 🤠
Recovery Obstacles 1. Are you still using a Type A attitude? 2. Do you dismiss ideas without giving it a chance? 3. Are you doing the simple things frequently?[eg outdoor time] 4. How can you better prioritize recovery? 5. Are you trusting that you can recovery most of the time? PS I think the title of video is wrong because I didn't hear the 3 Must Dos.
I love this video so much. I was just telling my husband yesterday that I learned so much about pacing and recovery two years ago, and I got it intellectually, but I wasn’t able to truly absorb or integrate the lessons until very recently. I just wasn’t ready. There’s no shortcuts here. Thank you for reminding me of that, Raelan ❤
Thank you so much Raelan ❤ it really helps me every time i hear this. Yes, i am recovering and yes i know i can and i know how…. And yes i go to fast everytime i feel better…so than the symptoms come back… Soso important to hear this every day and remind myself everyday to take small steps to heal ❤ Thank you Sooo much ❤❤❤❤
All very well. How are you expected to focus fully on yourself when you work a demanding job, and have to. Otherwise you cannot support your family financially, could ultimately lose your house / your pension etc if you don't do that job until the pension kicks in. The reality is you have to stare at many years of intolerable illness, pushing through with the hope you'll make it before the illness or poor mental health become too much and you check out.
Obst 1: That threw me off my chair. I've been treating my recovery like gym routine, PUSH PUSH, are you a BABY!?!! Nervous system: ...... Yea, i'm not gonna budge
Thanks Raelan, hope you're having a ball on your visit to your hometown in Canada! Should listen to that 16 habits with Jason video again like you recommend here-- definitely one of your classics!
Thank you! ❤️ Revisiting recovery stories can be so rewarding. Each time, you might find a new nugget of wisdom or simply feel your spirit lifted. Take it easy and soak it all in. 😊
If you can’t tolerate any probiotics or fermented foods due to MCAS/histamine intolerance, what do you suggest? I’ve tried single strain kid’s probiotics maybe 1/4 dose only but I reacted to it. Also fermented foods. Thanks
Thank you Raelan. I really needed this. Been in one of the worst crashes I've ever had because of meeting a new partner and couldn't deal with a crash and the intense excitement of a new person at the same time...then going through trying to manage that, keep them, then losing them. Holy hell - several crashes within the crash. And yep, my priority was changing from me to them. My body couldn't handle it.
So you think you have the cure for people with severe ME by changing their mindset and getting more sleep? This lady is shocking. You’re almost saying ME is a mental health condition not physical. We have faced that battle since the 1980s from the psyche drs. Changing your mindset is not a cure dear, it may help but it’s far far from a cure. If you were medically trained, you would be struck off in the uk for false information
She’s not saying she can cure people. She’s suggesting things to help people. Changing your mindset can take some of the mental stress of you which will impact your overall stress load which will help. She’s not saying these things can cure you of the condition .
Is anyone born with MECFS? It seems to come on after some sort of trigger like a virus or other life changing event. It’s akin to the guy who started MS hope. It wasn’t a cure for MS but it had the ability to improve symptoms or even send it into remission. The body has an incredible ability to heal. Raelan tells the story of her mother not being able to recover. We do have blocks to recovery. Sometimes a mere belief that we can’t recover is enough.
Do some more research…Cell Danger Response, childhood trauma, vagus nerve, nervous system dysregulation. Then come back and review your comment. You’re not keeping up on the latest research into chronic disease and the nervous system.
@@Boojerella I’ve had ME since 1987, I’ve read and researched. I disagree, for some of us the trigger was viral. If you look at the most current research on long covid, remarkably similar to ME, viral trigger. The Irish researchers have found a leak in the blood brain barrier which could be causing the cognitive dysfunction. Maybe you should read more current research and realise the psyche brigade don’t always have the answers, and they have zero proof of a cure.
