Here you will find recovery stories, strategies, and resources for ME/CFS and Long Covid.

Raelan lived with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) for ten years before finally fully recovering. After countless fruitless doctors' visits and tens of thousands of dollars spent providing little relief from her illness, she eventually realized that she would have to look within herself and listen to her body to find her path back to health. And thankfully she did finally fully recover!

Since her full recovery about four years ago, Raelan has become passionate about spreading hope for others facing chronic illnesses such as ME/CFS, Long Covid, and Fibromyalgia. She is the author of Finding Freedom: Escaping from the Prison of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, has built a successful RU-vid channel full of resources for health and healing, and designed online courses, accessible at raelanagle.com, to aid others on their journey towards health and happiness.

Ive had POTS syndrome for 20 years. Blood volume boosting through high salt intake , salt fluid loading , aerobic exercise, and weight training are what treats POTS ( without going the medication route). Also avoid getting dehydrated or stress/overexertion .

Medical system is absolutely usless in this situation, i’m having really hard fatigue problems after a tonsillectomy, before that it has been a very difficult year, lots of stress and as a result i started to be ill almost every month, until i had to do a tonsillectomy and then all my symptoms started, i’m on months 4 and i’m avoiding gluten and diary, i’m doing vagal nervr exercises and i’m doing a little better, but it’s still hard, can’t walk more than 1.5 miles without crashing hard next day. I hope to return to my baseline because this is a real nightmare

This interview was one of the best !!! It was handy that Jo is a nurse and could iterate what she did medically and holistically.....the perfect combination. If somehow we could train survivors of MECFS and those nurses/doctors/medical providers of what exactly MECFS is and does and the process of how to overcome MECFS.....just think about that!!! Miss Monique 🙂 🙏 🌷 💗

3-4 weeks on H1 and H2 blockers as well as a combination of alpha keto glutarat and 5hmf, 20 mg (furfural) made a huge difference for me, i was barely able to push a shoping cart- to at least physical 90% recovery (depression still present, but workin on it) .. did lots of other stuff too, but the main shifts happened when i started doing those..

I think Anj and I are actually the same person, all the way down to the ED and the nervous system education, the mental breakdown due to being with an addict and taking care of everything! And reactivated EBV that was the tipping point! I have a degree in behavioral neuroscience too. And the paralysis.

Hi! 20 yrs ago, I was a former NCAA athlete. Trained and moved fast with intensity to live life to the fullest . I was racing my bike. Band winning offen. Fittest I’d ever been at age 35. Winning races and almost literally one day I woke up and it literally felt like I had just gone to bed after riding 100 miles. Back then, CF was almost laughed at by doctors. Most not recognizing CF but my tiders and symptoms showed it. I went from massive diet changes, exercise adjustments and slow retreat from things I loved to do. I was raising two healthy boys at the same time so- no time to really stop. It was brutal! I remember wishing I had thyroid dysfunction or Hashimotos so at least it was acknowledged. I stumbled on th is program… but I in my own way, found the process, meditation and understood my mental state and wickedly high cortisol levels that were self induced. So happy to see this now for people today! The process is a learning process for the future- after this CF resolves. Bless you all!

What a wonderful interview! Nurse Jo is a breath of fresh air, so humble, wise, and practical. She is such a lovely person. I know she is now such a wonderful coach helping others who were once in her shoes coming at it with a whole-body approach. Amazing to see that she is also trying to share knowledge about the nervous system from her experiences and research with other western medical professionals. I also appreciate how she factors where western medicine can help.

I have tried most of the list and much much more....only thing that's made a real difference is brain retraining and mind set. Seems like for most it takes retraining your nervous system to be calm compared to treatments. I spent way too much money on treatments when I could've probably avoided most of them. Good luck to all!

Does it test for h pylori ? I’m assuming it does . I’m having gnawing stomach pain that just won’t go away! But I wonder if it could be a different bacteria causing it as well. I tested negative for HP during an endoscopy but I’d taken antibiotics the day before the test for a different issue. So I think it was a false negative. I can have the HP test done . But I’d rather have all the gut bacteria tested to find out for sure .

A lot of what she describes at the start, like not being able to stop and being sensitive, sounds like undiagnosed ADHD. Neurodivergent people are so much more prone to chronic illness, it's like a double whammy. Great interview.

Raelan, it would be great to have an interview with Dr Geri Puleo, who is an expert on work burnout. You can find her on YT. At this point, it's difficult for me to differentiate a work burnout versus a shorter episode of CFS. It would be interesting to compare both. Thank you!

Hey, don't forget that you don't need to pay a coach to recover. I am nearly fully recovered and I did it by myself. But yes, I agree that recovery stories coming from people who don't have anything to sell you come across as more credible. At the end of the day, it's a question of choice, time and money.

Wonderful & Inspiring! The energy you both create together, well, if I could bottle it, I would!! I really get the thing about building habits. After a period of hospitalisation with crazy symptoms (when, of course, they found nothing and told me I was fine), I committed to meditation on a daily basis, morning and night. And I'm a bit rubbish at meditation! But I refused to stop and so this is my own humble suggestion to anyone also here in the trenches, keep at it even if you think a. it's not working or b. like me, you think you're rubbish at it. It works at many different levels, over time, in its own time. Again, a million thanks and gratitudes from over here in the sceptered isle, the UK! x
