We will be more adaptable and open to new ways of doing things. Employers are now much more open to the benefits of flexible work for their businesses as previously it was seen as more benefit to the employee.
Very thoughtful video. For me, I've wanted to create a second RU-vid channel for a while now with photography videos for my students and their parents to reference. Our new normal of online learning is giving me that chance.
So happy you are spreading positive words of hope. We are very connected. We need the handshake and hugs and those will mean more to each other in the after of this crisis. My daughter is cooking daily, but she has always cooked for her, the hubs and the six kiddos. The kids think they need the pizza and such but she has three gluten free children to cook for. So I’ve changed my banana bread recipe to gluten free and they loved it. We were 11 growing up and dining out was for special occasions like Easter and if Mom said, which wasn’t very often. Amen, well said Jill. We do have enough. God willing we can all start saving. I pray they see this as like it were a depression. Yes, we need to reform our health care system. We need to be better prepared. Thank you Jill! Very much loved this video. Love ❤️ hugs 🤗 blessings to you and yours.
Thank you Eva! Mitchell and I usually eat gluten free as well. We haven't tried gluten free banana bread, but it sounds delicious. So nice that your daughter cooks for her family. I do think this whole thing is easier on those of us who know how to cook. I appreciate all of your kind words and am so delighted you are here!! xoxo
Jill, I feel you are a true friend and am honored to know you. Please be safe and stay safe. Both my daughter & her hubby cook. The kids are good, every now and again they just want to feel like others in the world. The littlest of the group, 6, really had a hard time not being able to go run errands with Mom or Dad. It was difficult seeing her break down. I explained I too could not go to the store because I too could get sick. Only Mom & Dad could go. Even if they hear other people are taking children, they should shop alone and only when they really need to like her parents do. It was so sad. They promised her, when we were told it was safe, she could go with Mom & Dad.
My husband and I just had this conversation last night. I wondered if any parents will make the change to continue homeschooling. He told me that, where he works, they're finding out just how many people can actually, effectively work from home. I'm enjoying eating in more often too! And yes, the healthcare system needs to be fixed! But there are sooo many problems. I live in a very poor county, we have a hospital though and at one point young girls were walking into the ER just for pregnancy tests! I worked in the medical field at one point, in insurance, and saw how people grossly take advantage of welfare, calling it "insurance", teaching their children how to get as much welfare as possible and shaming family members who were in college to improve themselves. Then you have the hospitals charging $800 for a bag of saline! So many problems to address. But! One thing I'm sure of...there will be a population who will learn not to take small even things for granted.
All interesting Mandi! I've been reminded so much of my great grandfather talking about the depression and my grandmother talking about rationing during WWII. Until now I had never gone through anything remotely similar. We will be forever changed. xoxo
Enjoying the jewelry series! I binge watched over 8 videos! I just wanted to let you know, thank you for all the information!! I learnt a lot about jewelry pieces! Much ❤️😊
Beautiful and hopeful positives Jill. With the homeless population as well as a clear indication people are currently living in two different Americas, I’d hoped we began to self correct. I’m hopeful but help to those that need it most doesn’t seem to be happening. It’s such an eye opening experience.
Thank you Jill- Yes, many things will hopefully change. I also believe that it will be for the better. Working from home is a tremendous change that I definitely want to stay. And yes! to the family and friends coming together in our homes...I never imagined how much I could miss seeing and hugging and being close to all the people I love so much! We take so much for granted!! Finally, do we really need more stuff to fill our closets and homes? Really? Keep up the positive coming please. Focusing on it is not easy...
Thank you Gloria! It is amazing how much we take for granted. So much changed so fast. We'll truly appreciate the little things when everything gets back to normal!! xoxo
I am new to your channel.I am 65,from the Netherlands and just survived more than 5 weeks in coma on the IC…because of Covid.Doctors were not expecting me to survive, including my brother who is a cardiologist. But I am a grandmother of three great grandchildren,so I fought!!From the moment, they woke me up! But I had to learn how to swallow,to eat and how to walk again. From the moment I woke up it took me a bit more than 2 month. Now it’s like 3 months ago and I am working again and my life is much fuller than before I got sick. But Covid still scares me..
Really enjoyed this video. We need this kind of content right now, so thank you! Also, I appreciate your mission to downsize. Nothing makes me happier than getting rid of things! Feels so much lighter! Thank you again. Stay safe and I'll look forward to your next video.
Jill I missed you and your beautiful face. Can you believe we are still going through this? Hope you are doing ok. All finding a way to cope and learning to deal with our new normal for now. Hugs and much love, Jennifer
I know someone that was used to eating all three meals out, everyday. Now, I do not even know how her family is surviving! Hopefully after all this ends, humanity makes changes for the better.
Hi Jill! Just subscribed after watching Autumn's jewelry video featuring pieces by you! Love your designs! I teach prehistory, the hunter-gatherer society, and ancient civilizations, so I very much appreciate your inspiration! Have you ever designed pieces based on the Lascaux cave paintings? Would love to purchase a piece or two from you! I agree with all of your discussion points about the pandemic. Another positive is that Earth's spheres began to heal from less human global impact. For the first time in 30 years, for example, people in India were able to see the peaks of the Himalya Mountains, and wildlife everywhere increased in population. The atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere all benefitied from this tragic pandemic. There definitely are lessons to learn. As a species, we really do need to examine our interactions with the planet, health care, and yes, connectivity. This was a beautiful video. Looking forward to being part of your channel community! All the best!
Welcome! So true on the effects to the planet. I hope we learn our lesson. I did a whole jewelry collection on the Lascaux cave art. It has such meaning to me because everyone one the planet can claim the art as their personal history which means that we are all creative and connected. xoxo
Thoughtful video.....the healthcare problem in this country is so obvious during this crisis. Everyone needs to have healthcare and it cannot be tied to jobs.
It's so good to see the few who are spreading positive messages instead of you know what. I've literally stopped saying the C-word aloud. I now refer to it as the "ass-butt"...so I compiled some positive effects of the ass-butt in my bid to stay sunshiney in this situation ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AbMXh6Mk6Kw.html
Hello Jill! I have been a viewer of yours for quite some time now, but not once have I left a comment despite deeply appreciating your content. four years (and some change haha) after your latest upload and the beginning of the pandemic, and we are still on our journey of healing and learning. Hopefully, we will emerge as a more caring, thoughtful, and better civilization overall. I have recently started a new channel in the hopes of uploading similar lifestyle type content in the coming months, and decided to comment. because why not! I hope all is well and I would love to see you come back to your channel, as I begin to nurture mine. We might even become RU-vid-Friends along the way! xoxo
Thank you for your first comment! These past years have been a roller coaster for me. I do plan to come back. I've started to work on it a couple of times and things got in the way. I'll get there! xoxo
@@JillMaurer content like yours is so spare on today’s YT. I must have binged 10 videos when I first found your gem (ha!) of a channel. whenever you decide to come back, you’ll be welcomed with open arms!
