How can I set my station jingle after each 3 songs it plays? The jingle will promote the station name with a slogan. Thanks

If I make a playlist and have it scheduled to go out or I just let it run the default playlist, how do I insert station IDs throughout the playlist? Also, how do I insert commercials throughout the playlist?

Hi there, you can use our tag system to do that. All you need to do is go into your Radio.co dashboard, Media>Tags and create a tag for Station IDs and a tag for Commercials. Once done, add these tags to any relevant media files in your library and when making your playlist, drag and drop your tags where you want them to play. Dropping a tag into your playlist will randomly select any file labelled with that tag to play. I hope this helps, if you need any more info, check out our article here; radio.co/blog/organise-your-music-using-tags.

This is great, but how do you schedule individual tracks??? What if I just wanted to add a few select tracks without creating a playlist? This seems like a basic feature but can't see to find out how.

Interesting point Karl. The reason why individual tracks can't be scheduled is because of over-complication. Adding single tracks into a day or week's schedule would be difficult to manage in the long-run. Instead, make things easier by adding your tracks into playlists and schedule them. If you need a hand with anything, drop our team a message at studio@radio.co.

@@Radiodotco For what I do it's required I use individual tracks at times, and playlist at other times. Having only playlists, actually makes what I do harder lol. Airtime Pro has this feature! For example let say I want to schedule a series of studies. Let say, Parts 1 - 7 throughout the whole week, Sun - Sat. Well that means I have to create 7 different playlist just for one single track. Then maybe fill the remainder of the time slot with music, when needed. We have a new study each week, so then I have to create a new playlist each time, which means the playlists, list will quickly fill up and I'm sorting through a bunch of playlist. Most of them won't be needed later anyways. So, in other words I would end up with hundreds of playlist, that I would have to eventually delete. It just seems inconvenient to just have playlist. Why not have both features. Single tracks and playlists. There is a time for both. Also Airtime Pro has a great feature called smart blocks. These blocks will randomly generate tracks that will fill up the slot, when they are placed in the schedule. Making adding music really easy and random, instead of dragging in individual tracks.

@@lrakvon18 I guess you can always create a playlist with that one track?

James ... I have a question. Suppose I have a play list which runs every day at 7 and its a talk. But the talk duration varies... So for eg: today the track is for 5 minutes and tomorrow its only for say 3 minutes.. what happens to the rest of the two minutes? The general playlist starts running automatically?

In your playlists, you can choose whether you want to allow for them to overrun or fade out if songs go over the allotted time. If you don't have enough material in the playlist for a full event it will just repeat until it either overruns or, if you don't have overrun enabled, until the end of the event.

I'm very interested in creating my own radio station and doing a live DJ /music at a scheduled time each week. I do have my own DJ service and a very extensive music library, my question is this, will I be able to create playlists etc. from my own library if I have a Socan licence for Canada?
@Radiodotco
@Radiodotco 2 года назад
If you own the tracks then you can upload and manage them within Radio.co, ready to broadcast. As for the license, as you're covered by SOCAN then you're legally allowed to play your tracks. But I'd double check your license fine print.

My individual songs are playing at random when I dont have a playlist scheduled. This might be ok for some but not for what I'm trying to achieve with my station, you said radio.co is programmed to always have something going out - but I want the dead air! I want the scheduled shows/songs/files to play only when I want. But now my embedded player is spoiling the surprise and playing random stuff I have scheduled for later in the week. How can I stop it from doing this?
@Radiodotco
@Radiodotco 3 года назад
By design, radio is 24/7. But if you want dead air to play, I recommend uploading a 1 hour file with nothing but dead air. Then schedule is to broadcast when you don't want anything going out. In saying that, if there's anything else I can help with, contact studio@radio.co.

@@Radiodotco thanks for the reply. I uploaded a recording of a river and bird song. I have in its own playlist and have scheduled it all other times. It’s so much better than silence. Thank you

I added new color coded music but I can't load the tracks. Tell me how do I add it, I didn't see it in the video .

If tracks aren't appearing, there's either an issue syncing or the tracks just haven't uploaded correctly. In either case, contact support for help@radio.co.

The tool is visually great and looks simple to use - but unfortunately Scheduling is not as simple as shown in the video. For some reasons it’s very random if your playlist will start of not… ( just Pray!! 😂) Most of the case it didn’t started when we wanted. Radio.co also do not offer Support over the phone, so it’s frustrating for a service you are paying.

If playlists aren't starting on time, then somethings not right. Contact support at help@radio.co. And regarding phone support, we do offer it as a service on the higher plans: radio.co/pricing
