DESCRIPTION
Penny is an incredibly popular skateboard manufacturer based in Australia. They make the retro, super-durable plastic skateboards. I wanted to give an in depth look at the board and give you the top 5 reasons to buy one in 2017. ** Special thanks to Taylor Butcher **
1. Construction - Penny boards just feel so much better than their knock offs and competitors. They're also extremely durable with Penny's secret plastic formula.
2. Style - Another thing penny has going for it is the aesthetic of the boards. They're really popular right now, and Penny has some great designs and options.
3. Price - Coming in right around $100, Penny boards are actually pretty affordable and well worth the money over knock offs.
4. Maneuverability/ Fun factor - Penny boards are so fun to ride and carve with. The small size makes them extra maneuverable which is nice for cruising on campus.
5. Portability - This pretty much speaks for itself, but they are incredibly portable. You can take one just about anywhere.

It's really a matter of diligence and constant practice. For example, I've used generic skateboards through my youth. Initially, when I've began riding a pennyboard, there wasn't any comfort. But gradually, I've improved and it became second nature. In fact, the Rasta pennyboard I've purchased in summer 2015, still works well to this day.

A regular cruiser-skateboard is so much superior to penny for 1 simple reason: you can ollie. And with a bigger board and wider trucks you can go a lot faster, so riding down a hill is not a suicide attempt like on penny.

@@cheyennss6221 It won't take long to learn on any board. Pushing isn't hard if you have youtube tutorials I promise. Longer boards are more stable so for that reason the longest boards are used for racing downhill. It might be easiest to use a longboard but I don't think you'll struggle regardless. I've tried all the major types (mini cruiser (Penny), Cruiser (Penny Nickle and a Landyacht), a regular skateboard and a longboard. If you'd like to mount curbs and things then I think you should get a regular skateboard. You can put the same size wheels on them and it'll be just as smooth. (It'll also feel less bumpy the more you practice). TL;DR I think you should get a regular skateboard made of wood but it partially depends on what you want to do (the length depends on what you're doing with it). If you want to carry it a smaller board is lighter but a mid size board is quite light (wood is normally lighter than plastic), if you want to race down a hill get a longboard, if you want to do tricks (it will also do everything else almost as well but not quite as purpose built) get a skateboard. I don't mind penny boards but I would prefer to get one made of real wood. Edit: Not judging but $100 bucks is quite pricey for a penny board. They are usually $30 bucks at least in my area.

I prefer my nickel penny to my 22' penny. It's a lot more stable and gives you a smoother ride, also gives you more room and freedom to move around on your board. If I wear a backpack i just tuck it through the straps so it rests on my back so travelling around with it isn't really an issue for me. Also I'm 5'3 and pretty small lol

I bought a simple 7.25 width mini board, put low trucks on it, and 50mm hard pig wheels, and it's fun to cruise( can even stiffen your leg on the front tail when your about to hit a small pebble, and skid with the board without falling with practice ), also easy to just switch the wheels to 52mm soft wheels when you want to cruise easier.

I gotchu. Longboards are heavier than pennys so you won't want to be carrying it much and longboards are more stable so you can go faster on them without speedwobbles. You won't struggle with either.

The perfect review i’ve been looking for!!! I just need wheels for commuting on college campus!!! Lol! A bike’s too pricy... pro scooters are also pricey but not sure which pro scooters are reliable. I’ve finally made my decision to get a penny board & the backpack. They have a spring sale right now! Waaay affordable knowing it’s durability & reliability! No research needed to back it up! Haha. Hi My favourite RU-vidr I think once you ride the Walmart one for a while, you're gonna want an actual penny board, so then you're out $130 instead of $100. Nothing wrong with the walmart board though. Especially for a beginner

Adrian Kong you'll certainly feel it on rough surfaces, but for the size, it's not too bad

Depends how picky you are. The bearings are normally a bit stiffer so it might not handle small inclines in the road as easy. They might also be a bit less durable but I think you'll be fine and the ride might be a bit rougher but if you have some smooth areas then you'll be fine. Any questions and I gotchu
