Just a few days ago, Sony Interactive Entertainment officially announced that the PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) has officially been discontinued , with the final units being shipped to the final retailers in the Japan / Asian regions. After 7 years on the market, the PS Vita's life has finally come to an end worldwide.

Bad for them. Bit now its the best handheld ever created. I love my psvita and i wouldnt trade it for anything. All games free, moonlight streaming that is better than a steam i have on my android. Vita rocks all

Problem is it come out too soon. They had a few game and most company don't interest to make more. In japan it is still fine since the JDM game still support. However. It best just wait for next one. Play Switch for time being and used Vita for play ps4 in different room(toilet)

@@jasper2785 I'm not really sure in general since the games are different genres but for the Danganronpa series (due to be being a visual novel style game) would be better on the Vita. Also because you want to play Persona games on the systems you need to consider which one you want to play first. Persona 5 Royal is on the PS4 and Persona 4 Golden is on the Vita. So you could decide from the Persona games on which system you want to get first and then get the Danganronpa games for that system.

If you like the Vita then you might like the Nintendo Switch. The Switch is a current Gen gaming console, so that means it still has official support . It's region free, you can import games from other countries. You can take the joycons off and share with a buddy.

Honestly I'm looking out for that. Here's hoping that 1. They won't have overpriced memory cards. 2. They still support backwards compatibility and we can get 1000s of classic games like Final Fantasy and perhaps some PS2 compatibility would be even cooler. I really hope it does go like that.

Price aside, the prototype model featured: - Slide out controls similar to PSP Go - Standard Micro SD Card for storage Seriously, Sony was so desperate for money! If they stuck with their original idea they would've sold millions of units FFS!

Never paid the Vita any mind until like a month ago when I was hacking a few old PSP's as a hobby project. I found a launch day 1001 model, unopened, for cheap. I've gotta say, I know the Switch library is newer (and I obviously like it, or I wouldn't have 2 of them), but, with homebrew and CFW, the Vita library is SO vast. It has gotten way more play than my Switch since I picked one up. Switch is practically a dedicated smash bros machine for me, since I beat all the other first party exclusives. Also, the Switch has shit ergonomics... just saying.

Recoil Gaming Exploits Vita isn't in par with switch becouse vita is old and unsupported. Switch is new more powerful. Vita have 1558 games but its 6 years old. Switch have only 2 years and already have 1420 titles... better titles

Ok apparently no one got the part where this is my opinion therefore subjective solely to me and my experience with both systems As for the age of the vita in comparison to the switch yes the switch is obviously more powerful but gameplay is more important than visuals and as this is my opinion I've had just as much fun with the vita as I have the switch The vita is the Dreamcast of its generation it's a great system that is incredibly underrated and overlooked

Had one break on me with a terminal piece tearing, causing the screen to fail with display. You are able to keep the data on the card, unlike the switch wear if it breaks, all that save is gone, with saves only being online only. When I got news of this, I had to get another and its fairly easy, yet seemingly tedious to replace the front screen in case it cracks. You could move the hard drive and other parts to the new system, but everything save wise stays on the card.

@@dmn2273 we have 3 Japanese Vitas in our household. The only thing you need to bear in mind is that for system and menu functions, the circle and X buttons are reversed. Once you're in a game, the usual controls apply. You can set up a Japanese Vita, like any other, for your regional account: US, EU, AUS & NZ. It will work just the same as a Vita bought in your country - except for the mentioned reversal of O and X button functions.

I love the Vita, i own the 1000 and 2000 models. Sadly the Vita is treated by Sony like a illegitimate child. Like a dirty little secret Sony wants to bury away forever. Even though they were planning to discontinue the Vita they were still coming up with new firmware, supposedly to stop the homebrew community. They they further undermined the Vita's remote play feature by supporting remote play on Mac, Windows, Android and most recently IOS! This move is basically a kick in the teeth. Dont get me wrong, i love remote play on my laptops but sadly this means i no longer need to carry around both my vita and my surface go, just my surface go and a PS 4 controller is sufficient.

I agree. I think Sony is done with handhelds. They never gave their handheld systems the attention they needed to succeed. Phones and iPads have probably hurt the handheld market quite a bit as well. Which is a shame because most mobile games are garbage and virtual controls are just terrible.

The PS Vita came to my mind about a year ago. I found one on Craigslist for $100 with the whole setup and Killzone. I played it for a bit but honestly I got it because I felt like these systems were going to come back or eventually they’ll turn into collective items. In a couple of years these could be worth thousands.

Is it worth in 2019 ? I mean are there any games to play at all on it ? I'd get one for like 50 bucks and mod it in order to play all the psp and vita games. It's a shame the disks from the psps don't work with the vita cause I really liked those but still

I sold my iPad 1 for the vita many years back. There is no other device I’ve used even as close as much as my vita. It traveled the country with me when I toured in a rock band. I just beat Links Awakening for GBC on it. Now I’m working thru SH Shattered Memories. I’ve beaten so many games on this device. Endless amounts of entertainment. Maybe I have different standards, but there’s more games worth playing on the system than I even have the time to play thru. That’s enough for me!

Owned a PSP for 10 years now. I don't plan on selling it but to send it for repairs. Wanted to get a Vita but was extremely cash-strapped back then so wasn't able to get it. A bit late to the Vita meta-game but definitely gonna pick one up sooner or later.

This is clearly a retarded glossed up video made by a group of spastics. I would have liked to see someone's face while they were narrating this instead of a politically correct waste of internet space video of people carrying a vita and playing it in everyday life like walking across a road or on a bus. A Vita's real value is in it's unbridled all encompassing tool for playing pirated games. This is what the video should celebrate, not some high budget film aimed towards mainstream society.

the reasons why vita failed... 1. Memory card 2. Not having a great game library. 3. It's price compared to ps4 , people be like just add up some more money and buy a ps4, which has better library+no Mel card issues Sony failed the vita... If SONY concentrated on it could have been a hit like psp And way better than the other portables like switch...

There's a bit of another problem, the analogs. Sorry but GOD the analogs felt a bit heavy to move and uncomfortable to have in your pocket Like a 3DS. and unlike the 3DS maybe it's my pockets but the vita sticks out of my pocket like a sore thumb

I had psp, now i have switch and its best handheld ever made. It's worth its price. Games should be cheaper. Vita is old and unsupported and there's no games.

TnukiGames probably some stores sell them new at a higher price than the original price, I got mine thru gamestop worth 125 dollars. I recommend either used (good-excellent condition) to new (200$+). Your choice.

People say Remote Play for PS Vita is useless never played Doom (2016) in the bus. Now THAT freakin rocks like hell. But i still have a question. What are the drawbacks that come with CFW and Homebrew? As far as i know i had to buy a second console so i'm still able to visit the shop with Vita A and use Vita B as a CFW machine. I would be very thankful for reliable aswers.

Because of its good games and has game archives from PS1and PSP games around. Has bluetooth, has voice chat. And hidden tap potential than Switch. I can ask my friend can able upgrade and modify this PSVITA able. Just remember my sis could upgrade Sega Saturn highend upgrade version. And because of fighting games and Chou Jigen Game Neptune games. So does the famous Highschool DxD game that is very rare. The third incoming of portable gaming console from Sony which is possible could able surpasses PSP and PSVITA both.

I revived my day one PSP 1000 last week and suddenly wanted a PS Vita again after appreciating the PSP once again. Got a Vita 2000 this week, and now have a PSP 2000 and 3000 coming in the mail, and searching for a deal on a well conditioned Vita 1000, PSP Go, and Street. I think I'm on a nostalgia trip because I want all the revisions!
