How does it compare to an e92 would you say ?

Mark A well, they’re both incredibly fun to drive, the e92 is different in the sense that it’s a V8, and since it’s still NA, it’s a similar beast. Both very responsive in terms of throttle response due to the ITB’s found on both the S54 and the S65. Each have their own range of issues. But realistically, it’s all personal preference.

A good one with less than 100k miles is over $20k USD ($32k AUD) from the ones I’ve been looking at here in the South East US. I think as they age more, they become more expensive due to them practically becoming a classic. While it is cheaper, it’s still a lot for some of us. I’ll keep working hard and saving.

15 is only going to get you a convertible/smg/tracked/modded/ coupes and or 6 speed with high miles or accident . They’ve really started to skyrocket. I have an 02 6 speed coupe topaz with m/cloth under 100k miles and bone stock and all up kept and I wouldn’t consider anything high 20k-low 30k

@@R53.charlie iv owned both cars. For long periods. Im now on my second E92 M3. The E46 was a great car, brilliant, dont get me wrong. But the E92 is better in literally every diminsion, except for fuel economy. Just to name a few areas the E92 is better...brakes, engine, gearbox, comfort, build quality( a way better here) tech, interior, seats,high speed stability,all round capability, and overall performance of the E92 especially a dct car, is in a different league entirely to any version of an E46 M3. Ask anybody who has owned both cars. They will tell you the same thing. In many ways the the E92 is naturally extension of thd 46, both cars have similar feel , character and soul, but the E92 just does it all better. Its much more of a weapon but also more mature.The f80 on the other hand is nothing like either and has little or no soul, feel or character at all. It may as well be a nissan

John Creedon I’ve had my e46 for 12 years now, and my brother in law has had 4 e9x m3’s and one of them was a limited edition (I can’t remember the name) and it was also a press release car (which everyone says are built a little better and are just that little bit better) and I got out of my e46, got in that, he gave me the keys, told me to drive however I like. I absolutely cannot even describe how I drove that car, I drove it ‘like I stole it’ it was horrible, it felt too numb, it felt like I was in an m5, not an m3, it wasn’t as planted as the e46, it had the straight line speed obviously, but it had nothing over the e46 in corners. The e46 feels like a proper drivers car, the e9x feel numb as fuck and to be honest, they feel unstable, and like I said before, like an m5, something which is good to go for a long motorway journey, or to commute to work on a motorway, that’s all it’s good for. The engine, yes it’s a ‘v8 motor’ the engine that every man who feels like they need to compensate for something would own, yes they rev high, sound quite nice, and produce an ok amount of power, but v engines are nowhere near as good as a straight six, for example, the fuel economy, the purr of the straight 6 engine which you can get in no other engine, the smoothness, no v motor runs as smooth as a straight six. Well, there’s my opinion anyway, can’t wait for your argument back👍.

Were all entitled to our opinion, no matter how warped and un balanced they are. 🤣🤣 enjoy your E46 man and when you finally move on to an E92, you will remember my comments and realise there all correct👍 btw comparing the old straight 6 to the s65 the way you did, is beyond laughable. It didnt win motor of the year 4 years in a row for nothing. Good luck. The E46 are great 👍👍
