I try to play as a good guy but sometimes when I say hi I get back talk and we know what happens after that

To me being an outlaw is about freedom. I'm free to do what I want when the mood hits me. That's how I'm playing the game. Sometimes I feel like helping a guy that got bit by a snake. Other times someone calls me an idiot and gets shot in the face. It's about the freedom of choice.

I played with the full intention of being a bad guy. I mean, it's fun, and after all you're playing as an outlaw. However, as I progressed through the game and started doing all the side quests, I kept getting good honour for completing them. At first it annoyed me, but then I decided I liked my new Arthur. The character arc throughout my game made my ending all the more sadder and better for me. By the end, he felt like a real person trying to make a difference. Such an awesome game.

I once tried greeting some one and Arthur went “he there mister” The npc replied “get out of here” And then.... my pump action said hi again

I was playing like an outlaw at first since it felt right. Then as the game progresses I started doing more honorable things as Arthur himself changed through the story. It was amazingly organic.

The best way to lower your honour is to steal other people’s content and upload it as your own.

For me, I feel like a mix of bad and good is the best part. Not purely one way or the other. The game is built in such a way that it forces you to "be bad" for the greater good, which I think beautifully characterizes Arthur's character arc and internal struggle throughout the game. He's trying to come clean about his former life, but is forced into comprising situations by those he considers his own, which tests his own character as well as makes him question his relationships and affiliations.

After the ending, I can't bring myself to do a dishonorable playthrough as Arthur - that honorable version of him is what I would like to think was the truest telling of him.

It makes more sense to me to start as a bad Outlaw causing trouble and slowly start redeeming yourself as you go into the story until arthur realizes dutch is kinda going crazy

Ebony grips are unlocked by high honor, not low. I got them as Arthur whom I played like a saint.

Given all the nuances of this game, there's a few things he was wrong about concerning the honor system: since they're all running sleezy businesses you can rob all the shop side businesses (like the one in the video) without losing any honor. You can even kill the armed people guarding them, just not law enforcement and civilians. You can do all homestead theft missions because again, they're all bad people (like the guy beating his son. Just don't kill the son) you can do the stagecoach missions cause they're up to no good. And that also answers his question about how can an outlaw be honorable? The same way robin hood is. You can break out prisoners in transport and gain honor cause they're all innocent.

Generally I like to be honorable but what’s the point of being an outlaw if you don’t rob the occasional stagecoach or Train?

The ebony grip is one of the best textured grips I’ve seen in the game, aside from Micah’s revolver grip

I try to be good but people always want to report me when I’m “solving an issue” with another person. Strangers shouldn’t get involved in our “personal issues and miss understandings”!

If you rob a house you shouldn't loose honor unless you get caught because if nobody knows it's you how would you're honor go down

I agree. Being a bad guy is easier. But I would recommend playing as a good guy first just to get the special outfits unlocked. Then go terrorize the town.

I bought and played RDR2 for the first time in this past week and I did it as honorable as possible and it was kinda boring. Game was great, lore was great, zones where great but overall it felt like I was walking on edge shells. I think in a few months I will go back and do it again 100% dishonorable.

I'm always as evil as possible in games. I have to be good, honorable, and professional everyday in the world. So in games I'm always a renegade. Some games make you regret it in the end but it's always much more fun.

I like to do the side missions in RDR2, so being bad for me is hard, when you do the side missions you always get more honor.

I think its better to be good but its more fun to be bad

Personally I believe that the best way to play red dead 2 is to play the game naturally and not worry about honor and once you get to chapter 6 try to raise your honor as much as possible before the last mission so you can get the better ending

I feel that being an outlaw is how the game is supposed to be played. Most of the systems are set up for that. Have two saves one for good and one for whatever you want in the moment / evil.

I'm on chapter 6 and have about 11,000 cash. I enjoy playing honorably and getting the most out of a game by doing extra missions. I'm a nice person in reality so I get absolutely nothing from creating unnecessary chaos lol. My honor is maxed out. It took time but i have 50% off everything and I enjoy hunting and fishing and playing a nice game. Maybe that's just me. It's a challenge to keep high honor and I enjoy a challenge. I've clearly had no issues acquiring cash by doing the right thing lol. To each their own.

I was playing as a bad guy initially, then I saw the different cut-scenes and dialogues and decided to go full good guy. Best decision ever

To be honest this reminds me of infamous just a bit cause being evil is way easier cause you don't have to worry on not hitting citizens and can spam easily without worrying to much but of course if you're evil the citizens will fight you but that's not really much a big problem

After playing the game for a while I realize that the Morale system in the game kind of sucks. You're not wrong about the game wanting you to be bad but there are bad choices you can make that will not effect your honor. For example, if you see a prisoner being transported you can put on your mask and kill the lawmen and free the prisoner, that prisoner will tip you on a robbery and you will get no negative points. If you have a robbery as a mission, you also get no negative points but it depends on the mission. For the most part, I didn't receive any negative. From what I gathered, the honor system isn't what people think of you, it's what Arthur thinks of himself. If you loot a dead body which you had nothing to do with and no one else is around, you get negative points. On the other hand if you loot a bandit trying to rob you, nothing happens. I'm 90% good outlaw and I've done lots of robberies and killing. Like I said, the morale system sucks.

Bad Guy = Easy Mode Good Guy = Hard Mode My first play-through I floated somewhere in between, but after finishing the game, and then watching both endings and a few other things, I think being good is the better way to go, I have some regrets for my first play-through, thinking I'm going to start again and try to be better.

I just play on two files separate files playing as Morgan being bad and good.

A pistol has a magazine that feeds it ammunition. A round is usually fed with a spring at the bottom of the magazine and, with each trigger pull, a new round is chambered. At the same time, the slide moves back and the extractor hook grips the rim of the empty casing and pulls (flings) it out of the barrel. Most pistols don't have an extractor, but rather an ejector, which is somewhat simpler. It is simply piece of metal at the back of the round, on the opposite side of the hole where the empty casing comes out. As the slide moves backward, the round is pushed back against the ejector at the same time that the hole opens. This causes the empty casing to get pushed out of the hole. In both cases, the front of the casing moves outward first, causing the casing to spin. I hope that made sense... On the other hand, a revolver has a cylinder with multiple (usually 6) barrels. The cylinder is held in place by a central pin which it rotates around every time the trigger is pulled. With each pull, the cylinder only rotates to the point where the next barrel is aligned with the firing pin. After being fired, the empty casings stay inside the barrels. They can be taken (or dropped) out when the cylinder is reloaded by hand. Single-action = cocked by hand after each shot. Double-action = cocked automatically by the force of the recoil with each shot. TLDR: a pistol and a revolver are not the same thing - a revolver is not a kind of pistol.

In red dead 1 I was max honor and then just saved the game and went on a killing spree in black water to get min honor and get the dark horse or whatever and made a new save which was pretty fun

so, how do you deal with towns on lockdown when you're dishonor is a certain level? And what good is all the extra loot when you have to use that to pay all your bounties?

I found it so easy and fun/exciting to be bad in GTA, but given the choice, I mentally couldn't be bad in rdr&rdr2. I felt I had to be good, it just seemed to suit it better and feel right.

This video is pretty idiotic. You can literally gain honour by chatting with people on the streets. Fish too small so you throw it back? Honour. Every chore you do gives you 10 honour points. Pay off a bounty for 5. Serve jail time for 10. Help a passing stranger for 5-10. I gained max honour by playing normally and just not intentionally being a shitty person. And recommending people don't help their camp members just prevents people from getting the platinum trophy. There are several missable trophies that require you to help your camp members.

Every playthrough I do is based on what I want to do at the time. I don't get hung up on the honor system. To play the game as a guy that just causes absolute mayhem 24/7 gets old after awhile, but playing as the lawful good guy just negates all the cool robbing systems in the game. I just go about my "days" in game in what is more enjoyable.

I loved being honourable during lockdowns because I had more time to be careful and think, now I'm back at work and can't be bothered so I'm just pure evil lmao

ive been naturally moving up the honor scale, mostly because risking a $50 bounty for a couple bucks off someone simply isnt worth it. crime doesnt pay, but the main story sure does

It's so easy to just greet every person you walk by, especially in Saint Denis; that's easy honor points. Also stuff in stores costs less when you have higher honor, so that seems easier and better to me. Also I robbed the Valentine bank and cracked the safes and I don't think my honor went down from that.

The best option for the story would be to have the lowest honor throughout the entire game up until before the final mission and then get a bunch of good honor so you can get the “good” ending and when you switch to John, he has more weapon choices.

My first playthrough, I only realized what the honour system was halfway through the game. And I was at the lowest honour. I was on chapter 3 and I had had 2 wolf dreams. But then I took it as a challenge tp improve my honour, so I refrained from shooting random ppl, tried shooting the hands in standoffs and all that and reached the highest honour towards the end of the game. I think it was the best way cuz arthur actually got kind of like a redemption arc where he slowly grew more honourable. And I didn't even know you got different endings and cutscenes depending on your honour.

I always save my file and then start to shoot to everything that moves and then load my file lol

Being dishonorable and robbing people is instant gratification, while being honorable is money overtime. At max honor, shops give you a 50% discount, which means your money is pretty much doubled. Think about this when picking your playstyle.

I kept lvl 4+ honor as Arthur in chapter 6 because I wanted the missions for good honor to 100% but once I played as John i simply played for fun (dishonorable)

Well, you don't have to be perfect. I try to be mostly good, so I greet people, I'm nice to the poors (like Mickey in Valentine, which I really feel sorry for him), and I do help people on the way. I like it. I also enjoy discounts at the stores and much less people after me because I'm good, and also I love the high honor missions and ending (of taking the money). But, I also get dirty sometimes. When I got to Saint Denis many people became bad to me. They started to pickpocket me, cheat me or just being rude, so I became angry and started being very hostile to them. On the roads I greet people, but if I suspect them to be bad I just kill them and loot them. So I am nice as much as I can for innocent folk, but for bad people I'm realy brutal. Like Charles

I really wish the honor system was more clearly defined.. Like letting people know +6,+7,-6 and -7 honor ranks are locked until certain points of the story. Had to figure that out the hard way.

Just my personality just makes me feel bad if I do anything to bad like kill an entire family or murdering someone on accident

I was so focused on getting the high honor ending, that I wasn’t having fun playing the game. So I decided to not sweat it anymore and just have fun. Yes, I got the low honor ending, but I feel like that ending was the better way to go out. I agree that the game is way more fun when you do bad deeds! 🤠

Be a bad outlaw, explore everything, rob, steal, kill when you get sick, start doing side quests, stranger missions and be a good overall to get a good ending.

When i played as arthur i was a bad outlaw but when the ending was coming i started to increase honor but after arthur died and then got stuck with john then i didnt care about high honour and became bad
