I was baptized a couple years ago at the church I was going to at the time because I was told it was necessary for salvation and terrified that I would go to hell if I didn't do it. A year ago I was finally saved after placing all of my faith in the finished work of Jesus and have decided to get baptized again as a profession of my faith. Praise God for the shedding of His precious blood for our sins and that we can display our faith through the beautiful act of water baptism.

We have the same story for the first part of your comment 😂..I’ve been born into a church that believes in a work based salvation and all my life I believed it until I found preachers that preach the true gospel and put all my trust in Jesus and what he has already done for me ..they believe you need to be baptized, it’s a MUST to speak in tounges and a MUST to live the right way to get to heaven..they even baptized someone today and people spoke in tounges..I had no idea what they were saying..I didn’t wanna blaspheme the holy spirt but I’m not so sure it was the Holy Spirit speaking..it didn’t sound like a known language..the only reason I’m still in this church is because I’m 17..I don’t have a job I haven’t even graduated high school yet..when I get older I plan to leave this church..it’ll be difficult because almost all my family goes there..I wanna tell them about the true gospel and tell them if they believe what they always believed and die they will find themselves in hell..but I’m afraid they won’t take me serious..I strongly believe most of them are reprobates already..sorry for such a long comment 😭 just wanted to share with you..god bless you my sister in Christ and pray for me🩷

Mark 16:16 says He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved ; but he that believeth not shall be damed. Then John3:3 says Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:5 Jesusanswered, verily, verily i say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. So how can a person be born again of water and Spirit. But by Acts 2:38 says Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Going back to John 3 after Jesus spake to Nicodemus , in the same chapter, in John 3 : 22 it says After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he carried with them and baptized. And John3:23 says ; And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came and were baptized.

@@TRUEkcctv1384 Water baptism is a work of righteousness and we are not saved by works but by grace through faith in Christ alone. Believers should be baptized after being saved but it's not a requirement. Jesus was speaking of being baptized by the Holy Spirit in the Body which happens after a person believes the Gospel.

A video of his popped up in my feed last September and everything he said made sense. I had been struggling with a sense of burden, a lack of peace, burdened in Calvinism. Prior to believing Calvinist doctrine, for about seven years I was believing that you could lose your salvation. Basically a conditional security heresy. I was always going over whether I had done anything that I needed to do before I died, lest I not get into Heaven. I thought about the lies I had told but could no longer remember who I told them to so I could not tell them the truth and "repent" and God would possibly condemn me for this. Many years prior to that, when I was 18 (1995), I very well could have believed and become saved, but my knowledge level was at bare minimum. I think I could have been saved, as I felt conviction after that event, and I also felt saddened when unbelievers talked terribly of Christians, enough to make me venture off to the side at the restaurant I was working at at the time. The other server had spoken negatively as Christians as "Jesus Freaks" in relation to what she perceived as low tips for the after church crowd. Regardless of when I was saved, I know now that I am and I have peace and have felt at ease regarding my spiritual future, something that arminianism and Calvinism burdened me down with.

I am concerned for my brother who is a Calvinist, my uncle who is in the Church of God denomination, for friends in the Assemblies of God, and for other Baptists who I have attended church with who are still Calvinists. If one were Christian and to DENY that they needed to be baptized (someone who is fully capable of, not someone who dies of a heart attack or something before they are able to be baptized), they would not only be going against God’s commandment but also to be rejecting a wonderful gift God pours out to us freely. @@willp.8120 is baptism a work of man? Absolutely not, as Ephesians 5:25-27 shows it is God’s work towards us, we had no part in it. To say baptism contradicts faith alone is to incorrectly say that baptism is a work we do, when in reality it is God’s work of adopting us, forgiving us, and uniting us to Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection. So baptism is the means by which the forgiveness of sins bought by Christ’s death alone is transferred to you. And we receive this through faith alone.

My brother falls for the baptism saves doctrine. I used to argue with him, now I just shake my head and move on with my day if he brings it up. I know he's a believer in Christ which I'm very happy about, but he's so set in his ways about this, he goes as far to call it a commandment. I did get baptized but it was more for his sake(I'm convinced this is what Baptism is for anyways, to symbolize without doubt to other people your belief, to do it in front of a crowd of fellow believers) because he wouldn't stop pestering me about it. Such a silly situation.
@willp.8120
@willp.8120 3 месяца назад
If your brother has only ever believed that you need to be water baptized in order to be saved, then he is not saved as he has trusted partially in his own self righteousness. The Bible tells us that we are not justified by the law. Now while water baptism was not part of Israelite law, though ceremonial washings are, the belief that it is required for salvation is counter to faith alone, and the gospel, as Ono has shown as outlined in the Bible. When you say that you can't be saved without being water baptized, you are denying belief in Christ's work on the cross as being sufficient for salvation that is illustrated within the Bible. As such, you are saying that there is something extra that you must do in your own will to be saved, and thus you are trusting in yourself for salvation. Thus, you are trusting in your own works of self righteousness. I would seriously send this video to your brother.

Almost every "christian" out there takes different bits and pieces of Israel's doctrine and applies it to the Body of Christ Church, not seeing the difference between the two. Our Baptism is done to us in the Spirit by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13). Ours isn't a physical dunking in water, but Israel's is. We are submerged into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit. Israel is not part of the Body of Christ Church. They are baptised in the name of... we are baptised into the Body of... That's why Paul said he was not sent to baptise but to preach. Israel was sent to baptise.

@@willp.8120 Thanks for your concern brother but I trust in the blood of Jesus as does he, and I know with certainty that God will forgive his pride, just as he forgives me of my own. He got saved before he was baptised, which is one of the arguments I used to point out his folly but unfortunately his church is dead-set in it's ways. I'm not going to make a mountain out of a mole-hill. Ultimately what's important is that he believes in Jesus and so do I, the details and intellectual arguments I find less important. As such it's not a can of worms I want to re-open.

One thing that bothers me regarding the application of water baptism in many denominations is that they make water baptism as a precondition into membership into their congregation. Some even say that you can't take communion without being water baptized. This church trafition is not scriptural. Frankly, ut makes no sense why any congregations should adhere to it as though they are a private club.

Baptism (after salvation) is a sign of Commitment. Not a prerequisite of salvation
@willp.8120
@willp.8120 3 месяца назад
It is just a public expression of our faith, representing the burial of the old man and the rising to life of the new man in Christ. Even if we are faithless after salvation, He is still faithful. None of us are totally committed as we sin every day, that is why we need a savior and that is why any commitment we can have is on believing on Christ's work for our behalf. If your using the word commitment in context to it being a representation of our commitment through faith in Christ by believing the gospel, then okay.

@@willp.8120 We won’t be faithless as the children of God. Remember, faith without works is dead. So after being saved by faith, as evidence of being a recipient of the Holy Spirit, you must desire to be water-baptized.

@@JesusChristKingsir your teaching a works based salvation. Clearly in Romans 4:5 this is a faith apart from works that justifies us before God. “Now to him that 👉🏽worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that 👉🏽worketh not, but 👉🏽believeth on him that 👉🏽justifieth the ungodly, his 👉🏽faith is counted for righteousness.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭ Also Ephesians 2:8-9 shows this clearly it is not of works but you seem to add works to the gospel. Teaching a conditional salvation like we can earn it somehow? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ stop trusting your works thinking that’s keeping you saved or earning something before God. @@JesusChristKingThe evidence is for men only as men cannot tell if you are saved or not. Take this analogy: "Son, you are my son. But if you don't get straight A's, wash my car, do your chores, etc. Are you really my son?" What you imply by backloading works into the gospel is and what your answer to the above analogy would be: "No, I'm not your son because I don't do those things." But you know that that is false. No matter what happens if you are your father's son, you will always be his son. Likewise, once you are a child of God, you will always be a child of God. Once you are saved, you are always saved. When you put you BELIEVE in Jesus Christ (trust that he is the only reason you will go to heaven), you are born again and become a child of God, through Jesus Christ (1 John 5:1 KJV and John 1:12 KJV). I strongly urge you to reconsider. It is not your works, or your water baptism in which you are saved; the only reason you (or any of us at all) will be saved, is because he died for us, that is, Christ Jesus. Remember, repent is just a change in mind. Repent of your sins, i.e., turning from sins, is a work in God's eyes (Jonah 3:10 KJV). With that in mind, repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15 KJV), and become a born again (John 3:5-7 KJV) as a child of God, through Christ Jesus!

Hi Onorato, not water alone, right? Referencing John 3:5. I understand if someone were to suggest the water was associating to 'living water' (Holy Spirit), but Jesus had not been crucified (a pre-requisite to send the Holy Spirit, John 14:26).

Brother, do you believe in Jesus Christ, apart from your works? If so, then you’re saved. ✝️ Know that you can’t save every person in this world. So, relax. Acts 2:40 (KJV) ⁴⁰ And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, SAVE YOURSELVES from this untoward generation. Everyone has a choice to make: Believe in Jesus Christ or perish. You, my friend, clearly have made your choice. You chose to believe. God bless. 🤙

You don't have to tell anyone. We aren't saved by telling other people that we believe. That is Arminian heresy that was popularized by Billy Graham. Graham believed that you had to make a public profession to seal the deal for salvation. It is ridiculous, however, as it runs contrary to belief in Christ alone. You are basically saying that you can't be saved if other people aren't actively there to hear you give a testimony. That would mean a man on a deserted island with a Bible could read, believe the gospel, but couldn't be saved because he couldn't tell anyone? That is so wrong. It is also a self righteous trust issue where you are trusting in what you do instead of what Christ did. Look at most denominations out there. Most are giving you a false gospel that incorporates works or law keeping which does not save anyone. The narrow road is only for those who truly believe in Christ alone, in his work on our behalf. He has already paid the debt for us. We received this free gift just by believing what he did for us. If water baptism were required, it can't be a free gift as it is putting a works condition in obtaining the gift. The modern church system gets most things right, but incorporating works for salvation cancels grace. It is why those who believe only are on the narrow road because few in the world are following this path, that is backed up by scripture.

Although it is good to give the good news of Jesus Christ to others; evangelism, preaching, teaching etc... are separate gifts of grace. You may have been given a different gift. Not all are called to be preachers but that doesn't make you as a believer any less useful within the body of Christ. Please read Romans chapter 12 verses 4-8 1 Corinthians chapter 12 verses 4-31

You missed where Paul he baptized and also the household of stephanas. When he said God sent him not to baptize but to preach, well, 1 corithians 12: 4-6 ; There were diversities of gifts, but same spirit. And ther are differences of administration but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. So Paul was sent to preach not baptize yet John was sent to baptize, see the diversities of operation. 1st Corinthians 12:7-10 says Spirit is given to every man to profit withal . For the oneis given by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy;to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: Also 1st Corinthians 12:12 For the body is one , and hath many members. 1st Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into the body. The water baptism characterised in the new Testament of water baptism (specifically Jesus) was a completion of Jewish levitical law for priest. When God came down as a dove, he was introducing his son into ministry. Not blessing baptism over his precious son. It is belief in Jesus as your Savior, not an "act" that saves.

From reading Scripture, it's clear to me, that it's not so much about keeping the requirements of anything but what your intentions are that God looks at. Should we get baptized if possible? Absolutely. It's a sign for others and ourselves that we have died to our old selves and raised from the dead in Christ. However, if we get baptized not knowing what it's for or the reason behind it, and doing it just because Scripture says so, I feel that it's good for nothing.

Genuine question . If you are saved and have eternal life and your sealed forever. Would you go to hell for preaching a false gospel after being saved?
@wtom04
@wtom04 2 месяца назад
@JesusismyLordandSavior3 A genuinely saved person is sealed forever with the unbreakable seal of the Holy Spirit - Ephesians 1:13-14, 2 Corinthians 1:22. A saved person can later fall into doctrinal error and preach a false gospel misleading and deceiving many, but the person's eternal salvation remains intact and untouched. The apostle Paul has warned in Scripture that some truly saved people will fall into doctrinal error - Acts 20:30, 1 Timothy 4:1. A good example of saved and sealed people who fall prey to a false gospel are the Galatian church Christians whom the apostle Paul rebukes in Galatians 3. However, these people will be out of fellowship with God and if they persist in doctrinal error, they may later incur God's chastisement in this life and they may suffer other unpleasant earthly consequences and also later suffer a forfeiture of eternal rewards at the future Judgment Seat of Christ - 2 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 when their earthly lives will be evaluated after they die. Again, however, these people are still saved and will possess eternal life. It is those who are deceived and have believed in a false gospel like Lordship Salvation from beginning to end, from childhood to old age and dying in that very state of mind without ever believing in the true gospel of faith alone in Christ alone apart from works that are eternally damned forever. Steve Lawson who is affiliated with R.C. Sproul's Ligonier Ministries is a good example of a saved person who later falls into doctrinal error. Steve once attended Dallas Theological Seminary and was taught the true gospel where he earned his "Th.M" in theology. However, somewhere down the line Steve attends "Reformed Theological Seminary" which is no doubt a Calvinist seminary and it was there that he earned his "D.Min" degree and became a full fledged Calvinist/Lordship Salvationist. Steve is also director of the "doctor of ministry" program at the Master's Seminary led by John MacArthur. Tragic, because now he is now leading people to hell with the false gospel of Calvinism/Lordship Salvation. It's probable that Lawson is saved, but has fallen into doctrinal error and are misleading many down the wrong road. This is how Satan can use saved people who have fallen into doctrinal error to deceive and mislead unsuspecting people to hell - Acts 20:30, 1 Timothy 4:1. Hope this helps, God bless!

The thief on the cross was still in the Old Testament dispensation, so he needed a high priest and a sacrifice which Jesus fulfilled both of those needs. The other scriptures that you pull from are from the Epistles, which were written to the Church, people that had already experienced true salvation. Those are not promises to unbelievers. The house of Cornelius were baptized. Baptism is so important that Jesus commanded it, Peter preached it on the day of Pentecost and believers were re baptized. To each their own but I wouldn't dismiss something that is in the Bible as a public display of your faith.

Hi Ono. I was just wondering if you could help me with a question. I know the term 'repent' in the New Testament is 'Metanoia' in Greek which means 'a fundamental change of mind'. I was wondering if you might have knowledge as to exactly what this 'change of mind' is referring to. I have been told that this means to change your mind from unbelief to belief on Christ but I have never been given scriptural evidence to back that up. I was just wondering if you had any knowledge on this particular subject as I am curious as to what specifically 'a change of mind' is referring to. Thanks for your videos I really appreciate them.

@Foosh-ok3dc The word "repent" has caused unending confusion among many saved believers as this word has literally been hijacked by the false doctrine of Lordship Salvation. Those in the Lordship Salvation crowd and all false works based salvation people interpret "repent" and "repentance" to mean to "turn from sins" as a prerequisite for salvation and as an ongoing requirement to maintain salvation from getting lost. In regards to eternal salvation which is a free gift, true Biblical repentance is a change of thinking regarding preconceived notions or ideas that people cling to and need to let go of and BELIEVE in Jesus finished work on the cross for salvation. They need to repent of "faith + works" and switch to "faith alone" only. Saved Christians are to "repent", that is, turn from sins after they are saved to avoid God's temporal chastisement in this life as a wake up call - (Proverbs 15:10, Jeremiah 2:19, Hebrews 12:5-11) to avoid other unpleasant consequences, to avoid premature physical death - Acts 5:1-10, 1 John 5:16-17, 1 Corinthians 11:21-22, Corinthians 11:29-30, to avoid the loss of eternal rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ - 2 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, and to avoid the loss of privilege of reigning with Christ - 2 Timothy 2:12, Luke 19:11-27. Turning from sins in this life after one is saved cannot be done in sinless perfection and all saved Christians will no doubt fail sooner or later. King David, King Solomon, King Saul, Samson, and the Corinthian church believers are good examples. The important thing to remember is that failure to turn from sins in this life will in no way jeopardize our salvation in Christ, but jeopardize eternal rewards, and reigning with Christ. Once a person is saved, he/she is eternally secure no matter what happens down the line - John 5:24, John 10:28-29, Ephesians 1:13, Romans 8:38-39, 2 Timothy 2:13, 1 Corinthians 3:15. Saved Christians are to "repent" and turn from sins, and not go after other gods to avoid God bringing about disaster, calamity, and evil upon them - Jeremiah 18:6-10, Jeremiah 16:10-13, Jonah 3:10, 1 Kings 9:8-9, 2 Chronicles 7:21-22. In the Old Testament, God brought these things as punishment upon the Israelites when they became unfaithful to Him by going after and worshiping other gods. In the passages in the Bible that talk about repentance, the true Biblical definition for repentance in Greek is indeed a "change of mind", "change of thinking". It is a change of thinking regarding any preconceived notions or ideas that people cling to and need to let go of and BELIEVE in Jesus finished work on the cross for salvation. (continued)

@Foosh-ok3dc (Continued) In Greek there are 3 different words for "repent" with 3 different meanings which adds to the already existing confusion. 1) METANOEO OR METANOIA - when translated from Greek into English is "repent" or "repentance", but the Greek definition is "change of mind" or "change of thinking". It is NOT "turning from sins" or "willing to stop sinning" which is the wrong definition that Lordship Salvationists/Calvinists and any works-gospel salvationists have redefined to accommodate and to promote their false doctrine. In the OT, in Exodus 32:14it reads in the KJV, "And the LORD REPENTED of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. A person with the wrong definition of "repent" would think that God "repented" of sin in this passage. This is impossible because God is perfect and sinless and He has no sins to "repent" of. The correct definition of "repent" in this passage is that God "changed His mind" about the punishment that He was going to bring upon the Israelites for worshiping the golden calf. Moses reasoned and calmed God down in Exodus 32:11-13 and God "changed his mind". Romans 2:4 - Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? "Repentance" in this context is again a "change of mind" "change of thinking". 2) AMETAMELETOS - when translated from Greek into English is again "repent", BUT the Greek definition means IRREVOCABLE. An example is Romans 11:29 which reads in the KJV, "For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance." With the correct definition in place, it reads, "For the gifts and calling of God are IRREVOCABLE. 3) METAMELOMAI - When translated from Greek into English is again "repent", BUT the Greek definition is REGRET. An example is 2 Corinthians 7:8 which reads in the KJV, " For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not REPENT, though I did REPENT: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. When you have the correct definition in place in this passage, 2 Corinthians 7:8 reads, "For though I made you feel sorry with a letter, I do not REGRET IT, though I did REGRET: for I perceive that the same epistle had made you feel sorry, though it was for a season." In the New Testament, the most commonly used Greek word for "repent" "repentance" is usually metanoeo, or metanoia both of which means a "change of mind" "change of thinking". It is NOT "turning from sins" and be "willing to turn from sins" or "promise to turn from sins", since Christians still sin AFTER salvation because we have free will and still have the inborn sin nature. The apostle Paul understood this well as he still struggled with sin AFTER his conversion which prompted him to write Romans 7:14-25. It is also why 1 John 1:8-9, and 1 John 2:1 was written. "Repent" in some contexts means a "change of mind" and "change in thinking", but in some contexts it means to turn from sin and evil to avoid God bringing disaster, calamity, evil, and premature physical death upon us as punishment. Examples of God bringing premature physical death because of sin are the Israelite men who indulged in sexual immorality with Moabite women - Numbers 25:1-3, 9. Ananias and Sapphira both suffered premature physical death when they lied to the Holy Spirit in the presence of Simon Peter about the portion of money that they kept for themselves - Acts 5:1-11. Some of the Corinthian believers suffered sickness and premature physical death when they were indulging in selfish eating and drunkenness at the Lord's Supper - 1 Corinthians 11:20-22, 1 Corinthians 11:28-34. (Continued)

@Foosh-ok3dc (Continued) "Repent" in the following Scriptural contexts means to TURN FROM SIN and EVIL IN THIS LIFE to avoid God bringing disaster, calamity, and other unpleasant consequences, but these are NOT salvation passages. These are preservation of PHYSICAL LIFE passages. If people, whether SAVED or UNSAVED turn from evil and turn from their sins in this life, then that will preserve their PHYSICAL LIFE SPANS here on earth. However. "repent" in regards to the free gift of eternal life is a CHANGE OF MIND from UNBELIEF to BELIEF on Christ and His finished work on the cross to be saved. 1) Jeremiah 18:5-11 - 5 Then the word of the Lord came to me. 6 He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel. 7 If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, 8 and if that nation I warned REPENTS OF ITS EVIL, THEN I WILL RELENT and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. 9 And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, 10 and IF IT DOES EVIL IN MY SIGHT AND DOES NOT OBEY ME, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it. 11 “Now therefore say to the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, ‘This is what the Lord says: Look! I AM PREPARING A DISASTER FOR YOU and devising a plan against you. SO TURN FROM YOUR EVIL WAYS, each one of you, and reform your ways and your actions. 2) Jonah 3:8-10 - 8 But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. 9 Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.” 10 When God saw what they did and how they TURNED FROM THEIR EVIL WAYS, HE RELENTED AND DID NOT BRING ON THEM THE DESTRUCTION HE HAD THREATENED. 3) Luke 13:1-5 - The context of Luke 13:1-5 is talking about PHYSICAL DEATH. Calvinism/Lordship Salvation has hijacked and perverted this passage and used it in ISOLATION to falsely teach that "turning from sins" is imperative for salvation. Their errant understanding goes against Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:20, Romans 3:28, Romans 4:2-6, Romans 9:32, Romans 10:4, Romans 11:6, Galatians 2:16, Galatians 2:21, Galatians ch. 3, Galatians 5:4, Titus 3:5. Jesus's warning in Luke 13:1-5 was referring to the imminent disaster for the nation during the Jewish war with Rome from 66-70 AD. Pilate's cruelty to the Galileans was but the tip of the iceberg as thousands upon thousands of PHYSICAL DEATHS occurred as a result of this war. Josephus, who was the 1st century Jewish historian estimated the number of PHYSICAL DEATHS to be about 1,100,000 Jews. The collapse of the tower in Siloam was again another tip of the iceberg of PHYSICAL DEATHS that Jerusalem would experience in that war. Jesus was foretelling the Godly wrath which will fall upon Israel unless the nation REPENTED. Jesus is talking about TEMPORAL JUDGMENT in the form of many PHYSICAL DEATHS. A repentant attitude on the part of Israel could prepare them to exercise faith in Christ for salvation. The was the same goal of John the Baptist where Paul stated in Acts 19:4 that "John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus." Repentance was what the nation of Israel needed to do to avoid the impending disasters of 66-70 AD. 4) Ezekiel 18:21-23 - “But if a WICKED person TURNS AWAY FROM ALL THE SINS they have committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, that person will SURELY LIVE; they will not die. 22 None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them. Because of the righteous things they have done, THEY WILL LIVE. 23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they TURN FROM THEIR WAYS AND LIVE? 5) Ezekiel 18:24 - “But if a RIGHTEOUS person turns from their righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked person does, will they live? None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, THEY WILL DIE. 6) Ezekiel 18:26-28 - 26 If a RIGHTEOUS person turns from their righteousness and commits sin, THEY WILL DIE FOR IT; because of the sin they have committed THEY WILL DIE. 27 But if a WICKED person turns away from the wickedness they have committed and does what is just and right, THEY WILL SAVE THEIR LIFE. 28 Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and TURN AWAY FROM THEM, that person WILL SURELY LIVE; they will not die. 7) Ezekiel 18:30-32 - 30 “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. REPENT! TURN AWAY FROM ALL YOUR OFFENSES; then sin will not be your downfall. 31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? 32 For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. REPENT AND LIVE! 8) Ezekiel 33:11 - 11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they TURN FROM THEIR WAYS AND LIVE. TURN! TURN FROM YOUR EVIL WAYS! Why will you die, people of Israel?’ 9) Ezekiel 33:12-16 - 12 “Therefore, son of man, say to your people, ‘If someone who is righteous disobeys, that person’s former righteousness will count for nothing. And if someone who is wicked REPENTS, that person’s former wickedness will not bring condemnation. The RIGHTEOUS PERSON who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous.’ 13 If I tell a righteous person that they will surely live, but then they trust in their righteousness AND DO EVIL, none of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered; THEY WILL DIE for the evil they have done. 14 And if I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ BUT THEY THEN TURN AWAY FROM THEIR SIN and do what is just and right- 15 if they give back what they took in pledge for a loan, return what they have stolen, follow the decrees that give life, and do no evil-THAT PERSON WILL SURELY LIVE; they will not die. 16 None of the sins that person has committed will be remembered against them. They have done what is just and right; THEY WILL SURELY LIVE. 10) Ezekiel 33:18-20 - 18 If a RIGHTEOUS PERSON turns from their righteousness and does evil, THEY WILL DIE FOR IT. 19 And if a wicked person turns away from their wickedness and does what is just and right, THEY WILL LIVE by doing so. 20 Yet you Israelites say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ But I will judge each of you according to your own ways.” The context of Ezekiel 33:11-20 is talking about the preservation of one's PHYSICAL LIFE here on earth. The same principle that is taught in Ezekiel 33:11-20 is also taught in Ezekiel 18:21-23, Ezekiel 18:24, Ezekiel 18:26-28, Ezekiel 18:30-32, Ezekiel 33:12-16, Ezekiel 33:18-20, Jeremiah 18:5-11, Jonah 3:8-10, Luke 13:1-5. These are preservation of PHYSICAL LIFE passages. If people, whether SAVED or UNSAVED turn from evil and turn from their sins in this life, then that will preserve and prolong their PHYSICAL LIFE SPANS here on earth. "Repent" in these Scriptural contexts means to TURN FROM SIN and EVIL to avoid God bringing disaster, calamity, and other unpleasant consequences, but these are NOT salvation passages. All works based false doctrines will no doubt teach that the above passages are salvation passages, but they are not. Hope this helps, God bless!

@@wtom04 Thankyou for spending your time to answer my question in full. I really appreciate it. It now makes sense to me as to why some preachers say repent means 'turn from sin'. Because in some contexts it does; but turning from sin is not for salvation as shown in context of scripture. Thankyou this knowledge is very important to me.

Water baptism is the same as in the law, when they were to be circumcised in the flesh. God circumcises us in the heart, and we are washed in the blood of Jesus when baptized by the Holy Spirit. Revelation 1:5-6 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and has made us kings and priests unto God and his Father, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. We are told in Titus 3:5 By the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. We are saved and washed in the blood for regeneration, and renewing at the same time. The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one and the same. Eph. 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

You're totally misinterpreting 1Cor. Also, for Titus, ‘Not by the works of justice’-not because of any works of ours done before justification whether according to the natural or Mosaic Law: those works did not constitute the motive for God’s bestowing the grace of justification-the motive was solely God’s mercy. ‘By the laver of regeneration’-This laver or bath of regeneration is Baptism, by which we are delivered from that slavery of sin into which we were born (our first birth) and become sons of God (our regeneration or second birth).

Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. - Acts 2:38 For there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. - Acts 4:12 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. - Mark 16:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. - Acts 22:16 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. - Romans 10:13 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. - John 3:5 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

question Norm. Is it a red flag if a church is solid on everything but believes baptism ceased to be necessary after the early years of the church?
@captainkrajick
@captainkrajick 3 месяца назад
It's not necessary to be saved. But I believe it's necessary in terms of church membership, because it's a public declaration of your commitment to Jesus Christ. If you're not willing to be baptised as a figure of how you were saved by Jesus Christ, then how can a church rely on you to help serve, or reach others etc... That's what I've gotten from my own study, but you'll have to ask your church how they publicly declare their faith, and decide for yourself.

Rebuttal to all 5 points: 1. Paul wasn't baptizing because people were affiliated themselves with their baptizer, rather than Christ. So Paul refrained from baptising. 2. Baptism is a work of riteousness of Jesus, not of us. Therefore, it's not a work that we do, but God. Jesus was baptised to lead by example, just as He was circumcised, even though He didn't need to do it to to enter into God's covenant. 3. Cornelius's regeneration was an exceptional case. If you take this as the ordinary rule for regeneration, then you would require everyone to speak in tongues when regenerated. People can be regenerated outside of Baptism, when God wills it. But it's the ordinary way one is born again. 4. Again, regeneration can happen outside of baptism, like with the thief on the Cross, but scripture teaches that baptism is the ordinary way we are born again. 5. Salvation is a gift of God that is administered through Baptism. If you are given a gift in the mailbox, you walking out to the mailbox to get it isn't earning the gift. Just like being baptised doesn't earn the gift, but it's the way you access it.
@OnoDiamante
@OnoDiamante 3 месяца назад
1.) The point is that there is a clear distinction between water baptism and the Gospel whereby we are saved. You didn’t disprove that distinction. 2.) So it’s a work of righteousness when Jesus does it but not when we do it? Circumcision was commanded by God and presumably administered by another, is that a work? 3.) and 4.) The word of God is clear concerning the way in which we are “born again” and become children of God, it’s by faith alone. See John 1:12, Galatians 3:26 and 1 John 5:1. You’re not refuting anything, you’re just claiming that “this is an exception”. 5.) Again, you’re simply making an assertion without substantiating it with scripture. Salvation is a gift which is RECEIVED through faith (John 1:12).

No one dsaid water baptism alone will save you. But he word clearly states that john 3:5 Jesus answered, verily, verily , i say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of spirit , he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, amd be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. So its a cleaning of sins , but no one said it alone will save you. You still must repent, believe and follow Gods laws and statutes of charity which is love.

To straight up Lie or mislead the words that are actually written in the Bible is WRONG especially if you consider yourself a Christian like this gentleman in this video. Water baptism is mentioned all through the new testament especially in the book of Acts 8:26-40 Please read carefully so that you may better understand for yourselves and not rely so much on people.. Jesus Christ is your only teacher. read carefully specifically to verse 36 and 39. We don't know why God chose the water baptism for salvation.. we do know that wherever there is water in the world there is life... and where there is no water there is no life; but that doesn't change the fact that the water in which a person is physically baptized also has the power to heal someone internally and spiritually.. 1st PETER 3:20-22 reads: to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, 21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.[e] It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand-with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him. I hope this helps anyone who is still confused or unsure of their salvation. Amen.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holly Ghost. How to lose your salvation 101: Matthew 10:33. Don’t bring Peter up as he repented from denying Christ 3 times therefore was redeemed. This speaks about a REAL believer and when put into persecution would deny Christ. So this once saved Christian denies Jesus, Jesus says he will deny them before his Father in heaven. Salvation still not lost?
