The problem about that is that your tired teammates will make more mistakes aswell and as showed in the Video, wont think about the consequences in running down mid and feeding calories to the enemy mid laner.
Hey man i really like your videos, i like the way you explain things as well, you speak very clearly and it always makes me like listening to you more. Keep up the good work!
Reasons You're Losing Solo MMR My edition: 1. No 2 tango 1 Obs at mid 2. Dual Mid 3. Carry or Feed 4. Lag 5. You play on SEA Server 1 Pinoy + 1 Malay + 1 wkwkland + 1 Thailand, and You are Indian
You forgot the real #1 reason: You worry about all these outside factors and think others ruin your games, instead of focusing on ur own mistakes u make in those games. That would actually make you a better player over time, thus leading to you climbing regardless of shitty games like that
I live in Finland and from experience i've learned that queuing after 2am is the best time to do so because most of the russians are already sleeping and not ruining your games!
We have a similar problem, Finns and Swedes like to play on the Russian server because they have better ping on it than on Eu west/easy. So do not whine about "ruining russians". Also if you 5k+ doesnt matter german, french or russians teammates
@@kocou71 its a stereotype my man xD We all know theres good and bad russian teammates and players. Its just a stereotype. Like all americans being fat or all swiss eating cheese and chocolate.
Awesome video and pretty accurate. The reason 1 is the main reason ive lost 500-600 mmr in one or two days, mmr that took me 3-4 weeks to gain. STOP PLAYING WHEN YOU ARE IN A LOSING STREAK. Thats the best advice you can give to people in order to grind mmr.
hmm. One night I just was like "huh I lost my 6k today Im like 1 game away from it lets Q till I get it back. >fell to 5.8 >fell to 5.5 within a week k
I really like the discussion on mute. Its appreciated that you confront how inevitable it is to feel bad/frustrated/angry at stuff from teammates, and how to limit that communication when it would hurt your play.
REAL 5 reasons why you can lose mmr on EU servers: 1.Russians in a team. 2.Russians in a team. 3.Turks in a team. 4.Turks in a team. 5.Russian & Turks in a team.
1. Russians in a team. 2. Russians in a team. 3. Turks in a team. 4. Turks in a team. 5. Iranins in a team. 6. Iranians in a team. 7. Russians and Turks and iranians in a team.
love the stuff you put out here and on the pvgna channel dude. especially because i love the offlane role. Your videos convinced me to play more pudge in the offlane, and im getting better and better. keep it up! Peace and love
Hey man great vid. This still applies after 2 years. Sugoi. Also get to learn some educational stuffs like gambler's fallacy that really happened to me yesterday on the casino. Kudos to u mate and keep making videos!
I came back again. Couldn't help it 😮💨 it's really helpful to come back here to validate a lot of things and to just feel okay taking extra steps towards health to gain MMR.
Thanks @Jenkins this has just gotten me out of my 7 game losing streak. I'm shocked at how simple it was, I just picked better and muted everyone (including my team) and focused on my own play. 2 wins in a row!
The guy running into towers to feed at 1:58 is also a big part of it LOL. Jokes aside, nice video. I just caught myself doing some of this stuff, let's see what can be done. Keep up the good content.
I have played 12k games but I am 2k MMR. I don't usually look up "ways to get better" or "gain mmr" but your video surely helped. Almost everything you stated is the story of my life. I am guilty of every single point that you made. If I can work on that, maybe I could get better or gain some mmr. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I thought of the things you said in the video and it's honestly at a 95% match with my experiences. It boggles my mind how correct these are. Will try to "adjust" more i suppose. Also ya get my sub ya scrub :)
I always queue past midnight since people actually try their hardest to win. I mean why would they stay at past midnight only to troll games and play like it doesn't matter to them? Compared to my usual morning or 8 PM schedule where retards are just playing for "fun" , all the games I played where actually competitive and a fun experience win or lose since everybody actually played their best.
I usually play ability draft only in the late evening and at night played at seven in the morning once ---> people picked the strangest skills eg: Thirst as 8th pick
Just had 5 lose streak and just watched ur video and i realise ur right shouldn't have que more because I'm hungry and tired but in my brain i was like i have to win next game
I have to say, for a long time I have been observing my progress and the progress of others, all the while taking many things into consideration, and the four out of five reasons you listed were also found in the cases I looked into, very well said, you just earned a subscriber. I do hope that you also cover the small things that matter too, such as: Is your gaming space comfortable? Can you move freely? Is the room temperature alright? Are the screen and keyboard at a desired level? Will phone calls and other unplanned occurances bother you? Or can someone else take care of them? Where is your PC located? Will guests affect your performance if your PC is nearby? They seem like small things, but they affect you nonetheless.
dude u alone sounded like dota player's ASMR.whenever ppl need to rest from dota they could've jst watch this videos instead, let alone the need of knowing its content.good video anyway.keep up (y)
Most of your pointers I had kinda gathered for myself, but the first made me think, and since I usually play after work, I am kinda tired. Maybe I'll save to the solo mmr queing for the weekend. Thanks man lol
About scheduling: In college, my best friend and I used to do the afternoon/evening shift, so we stayed up late playing DotA 1 and slept all morning. We also played during the weekends, of course. To be fair, DotA was at its best, and at its most enjoyable, during midnight to 5 AM. No kids, and mostly smart players. But the weekends... Oh God. You couldn't play support on weekends. People would ignore your ward placement, would never gank, would farm when we needed to push - horrible stuff, even back then. What I'm trying to say is: if you ignore the _normie_ hours, you'll likely find better team-mates _and_ better opponents. If you are good in that kind of scenario (with better players around and in front of you), and have the time, the schedule and/or the willingness to improve your MMR, I'd recommend playing at the late night hours, on non-summer weekdays. And yes, the guy I played with is still my best friend. And yes, we both made it through college. We both had to repeat a few years though. Fucking DotA :D
Good tips. Especially the first and last one. And I guess if you really want to play just go queue a normal or turbo game. You get to play with no consequences.
Be calm. Do think about each and everything you do. Think ahead. Think about what your teammates are gonna do. It‘s more important that you know where everyone is than having perfect mechanics. I played at 3k for years because I was in tunnel vision without noticing and I was over ambitious. Now I play with 5ks, sometimes even 8ks. It‘s not as hard as you might think. Sure, mechanics get better, but the bigger part is decision making and awareness
Thank you for the guide., especially the Gambler's Fallacy part is the reason I got back to back to 4k flat for 4 times. Saved MMR and went back to 4,26k (peak)
Thanks man. That was helpful. The thing u mentioned that when u lose u try harder to win next one. I did that and list 2 more matches lol And eventually get more tired. So thanks ill try muting tip too.
The chat wheel rules man, people dont even starts to complain about your nationality, xenofobic insults makes no fucking sense. Cool channel, got a new subscribed. A hug from Brazil! Keep the good work ^^
I have the gambling problem..... Lets be honest.. thanks for this video. Will help.. I realised it a few days ago. Went from 3.5 to 2.5. Then had a think. And now... went to a 12 win streak. Lost a game. Then now on a 5 win streak atm. Thank you
Hey im a psychology student and just wanted to point out something. Partial sleep deprevation does inhibit our ability to perform simple tasks but research has found complex tasks are relatively unaffected by partial sleep deprevation. However saying that, it is hard to divide attention while deprived. So either way it does effect dota 2 performance.
I understand why people fallfor the gamblers falacy in dota. Cause the game is supposed to give you a balanced game, if you keep loosing it should put you in with worse players, therefore increasing your winning chances. However, the chance to win a game doesnt change. Its still 50%
really helpful, I feel all of those, nothing seems mistaken, damn I wish I couldve thought of all of those before I lost 500 mmr, now back to 4k dog teams
s4 has said that if you lose 1 solo q game you should just quit queuing for a while. This sounds tough but since I have done this it has raised my mmr. Take a break, play another game, play a hero you want to get good at in unranked. This allows time to "untilt" and you also think about what you did wrong in the game you just lost. I'd also add: don't play while hungry, especially if you're waking up and playing don't jungle cores and ask your team to please not jungle casually flame your opponents, like if you notice they have a walking courier at 10 min say "nice support you have over there guys" or something. Bonus points if you find one guy who is really mad already and kind of take his side don't ever play dota to blow off steam. Play a shooter or sport game or something when you get home from work/school or if you are feeling like you are having a bad day.
Anyone struggling with the first point, look up videos about what arbitrary end points are. Once you've realized they're there, it's easier to work around them or from applying them to your habits. I made the rule that I quit for the day once I've lost two games in a row... it won't get any better after that, anyway.
My Tip for climbing MMR would be: if you win a game of dota, do something completly different for 20-30 minutes, take a break and do something you like to do to take your mind off of the game. if you lose, dont touch dota for the day anymore or at least not ranked. you find yourself more relaxed and focused while playing. got me +800 mmr in 4 weeks
wow, great video, I found my self in all of these reasons. im not that high mmr, currently 2700, but for like 6 months I wanted to climp up to 3k, Due to these reasons here(and probably more things) I dropped from 2800 to 2300 solo mmr. I have won a lot lately, and climbed 400 mmr. I mostly play support, its was im best at, and I win more offen playing this role. In this lvl of mmr, if im not the support, nobody will play that, atleast not correctly :P
Well, I just play my only favorite hero and I always enjoy my game, whenever we losing or winning my game is always excellent. I just need to get a fast blink and to get double joy, and since I get it - I don't care how the game goes, I just getting fun.
Reasons why you're losing MMR: 1. Unbalanced Match Making. 2. Noob Carry, feed support, passive skills nuker. 3. Throwers. 4. Even if you muted everyone if someone keeps on getting himself killed, the game would probably end sooner than you expected. 5. 2 or 3 players on Mid. 6. No team play. 7. Forever farm. 8. All in farm. 9. No one wants to defend. 10. No one wants to gank. 11. No one wants to pick support. 12. All heroes are late game carries. 13. MATCH MAKING BALANCE 14. MATCH MAKING BALANCE. 15. MATCH MAKING BALANCE. Why? Because if the match making balance is balanced. Even if there is only one feeder on both teams, the game will be balanced. In fact no one will throw the game if the game is balanced, and where is the proof of match making bans? Eh? I tried twice to throw a game but nothing happened on me even if I have many reports. So where is the proof of balance? Real reason why you are losing MMR: Its because Balance in the game is not enough. "NOT ENOUGH." Welcome to the new Top #1 Game in steam.
2nd point is very valid, especially living in east but quing for eu servers in the mornings is total nightmare, 90% lose chance, insane amount of toxicity, I notice if I play in the morning I usually lose 3-4 games in a row (my morning time is about 3-5 am in europe)
Always play like you are winning. Even if you are getting dominated you always need to keep your PMA on top. Don't play if you are angry, sad or annoyed by anything. Try go for a run outside first, it will increase bloodflow and refresh your mind which allow you to focus better. Eat a good healthy meal before playing. (Never eat sugary stuff same day as you intend to play!) Use ingame microphone. People see whoever uses their voice chat as a leader and listens to everything u say. Always be positive even if someone is performing bad, don't make them tilt even more, be extra nice to them! If someone is arguing, mute them instead of talking, don't get distracted. Don't fap before game. Fapping temporarily reduces your testosterones which makes you tired and unmotivated. Hope it helps anyone
I would say that it's better to play a party matchmaking with 2,3 friends than play with random strangers, since you know already what at least 2, 3 teammates play like, you can communicate better. But your video was pointed towards solo matchmaking, fair points I would say. The most important, from personal experience, would be to relax and try to not get tilted very easily. I know it's easier said than done, but it goes a long way if you try to stay calm and focus on the game and what needs to be done. Remember that most of us are not pro players and never will be, so take it easy, if you see you're on a 3, 4 match losing streak, take a break, play other stuff or do something else. Heck, even s4 said that after 5, 6 matches, even if he won them all, he takes break.
The most important is, dont u ever flame ur team, especially ur carry Im a support player that means i need to be carried, sometimes i met carry that plays really bad If that happen, dont flame them, just stick to them, gave him farm, protect them, even if they annoys u, give them advice like carefull, encourage em like dont mind etc etc If u have a team with a good mood, even if u are in losing situation, u still have comeback chance, but if ur team are in bad mood and in losing situation and start flaming each other Well... 99% sure lose
most of em are true...I just went home from work for a full month and spamming solo queue 2 weeks ago ... the results are all red in 1 week... then I refreshed myself by playing 2-3 pub which all green, then party queue like 2times which all green, and then spam solo queue again and yeah only 1 red this week. thou yeah even if my MMR a bit low, the point I try to make is to always keep stamina and health 1st and try to play other mode/queue or maybe another game to refresh the stress. edit: oh waw i just went and checked the pvgna guide thingy, cool stuff there xD
When someone is flaming twice in a game, chances that he is going to say something useful for the team are really low so I just mute him. Good video, keep uploading your ideas :)
5 Reasons I am Losing Solo MMR 1. I am playing at SEA server 2. No one picks a goddamn support 3. Even when i pick support, no one can carry 4. Account buyers 5. Toxic players who cant do anything but blaming his own teammates
Here's my observation in 3k-4k Mostly hard carry No ganker heroes(this is most of the time why i lose) Supports tend to forget wards ans where to place them Imitating pro meta that isn't suitable in the skill bracket or situation
Reasons I Lose MMR: 1. Carrying hard and team feeds 2. Carrying hard and team feeds 3. Carrying hard and team feeds 4. Carrying hard and team feeds 5. Carrying hard and team feeds 6. Team refuses to listen and go in solo and steals my aegis 7. No wards whole game.
Do not play at 3:00 it's the dark hour of Dota, the things I've seen there are unspeakable. The pick phase info it great I hope more people watch and learn.
#1 should be "Playing drunk." lol. #3 Should just be "You dont think about what to pick and when to pick." Say you want to pick a certain carry, but the enemy team already has 100% counters to that hero, but you pick it anyway. Kinda the same as what was said in the video about highlighting that certain support hero and then lastpicking it.
