This was very timely but I ordered the 6 pairs of underwear from Knickey's yesterday that I decided I need before this video was made. I am definitely on this sustainable closet idea now and even kept 3 shirts that I like from my donate bag. I had not changed my wardrobe in 20 years before I found a color analysis system that disagreed with me. Now I will give a lot of thought to all the clothes I donate. Right now I have a bigger wardrobe I have ever had and I think it will stay or I hope it will stay for another 20 years. Yesterday, I was also looking into the Australian made bathing suits you recommend. Would love to hear more on bathing suits!!!

Bathing suits is a tough one, as you can hardly make a proper swimsuit with non-plastic materials. So I go for the 2 that degrade the least, and fit snug: 100% polyester and lastex (with s). Polyester seems to hold at least 10 times as well as nylon/elasthane aka polyamide/spandex/lycra. The spandex mix suits degrade so fast, it can't be good for microplastics. I've 70's polyester bathing suits that are still excellent after 50 years. But the real marvel is lastex. This was made from 1940-1960, and Australia is a country with a vast collection of vintage lastex suits in awesome styles. It is not always labeled as lastex, so also look out for cotton/acetate/rubber. Not the best drying characteristics, but built quality, styles and fit is asthonishing. You will look fantastic. Brands to look for are Jantzen and Catalina.

I switched to Thunder Pants a few years ago and I won't go back. They cost more upfront but they last significantly longer than the chain store brands. I just wish Thunder Pants came in cuter colours and patterns!

Thank you! Honestly just a shampoo bar and occasionally a conditioner bar. Washing less and simplifying my hair care (and skin care) has made the biggest difference!

I like bamboo reusable pads. What about bamboo underwear vs cotton underwear?

So bamboo is tricky, it has many good properties for use as underwear however you have to be careful how it is made. Bamboo is actually rayon/viscose which is very chemically intensive to manufacture (although the toxic chemicals do not remain on the finished bamboo product so it seems to be safe for underwear). I'd recommend getting bamboo from brands who are transparent and OEKO-TEX certified. FSC is also a good certification to look for as it means the bamboo forests are being more responsibly managed. And finally for any cellulose fabrics it's always important to look for brands that mention "closed-loop" manufacturing which means the production chemicals are recovered and recycled/properly disposed of instead of being dumped into waterways.

Love this video! I want to ask what do you use for your menstrual cycle? I used to love Thinx reusable panties but now there's some concern about PFAs in their panties. Do you know of any brands who make organic cotton reusable panties or pads? Or any other materials that are safer? Thanks for your videos! You inspire me to be much more sustainable and ethical in my everyday life

Maybe the question I’m going to post is due to my ignorance, but I had to ask😳 if someone cannot afford 100% organic cotton and only buy 100% cotton white color and washed it before wear it … that doesn’t resolve the problem with synthetic color and pesticides. ? I’m not sure if washing it will remove all the pesticides

I happily spend some extra on it. To save money, I buy ALL other clothing at thrift stores. And they tend to hold longer, so I don't know if it is so much more expensive.

Q for Quinn scores minus points for no proper contact info (address, phone number, mail address). No idea where they are seated, but I bet US based. Models for photographs look inclusive. Price is pretty steep considering it is made in India. Single brief to Europe is 46€. And they have side-seams. For EU customers, I suggest looking at Comazo/Living Crafts, both are seated in Germany, with production in eastern Europe, they use in-house staff for modelling, both GOTS certfied as well, and a brief is usually like 15€, a boxer a bit more, and the woolen variants are about the double price. I get all my undies from them, no side seams, well made.

For those of us who do not fit into the standard size range (3X is not the largest that women come in), it would have been helpful to provide sources of organic cotton fabric so that those of us who can afford the health benefits of organic cotton underwear but cannot purchase it readymade might also avail ourselves of this privilege by making our own or having them made for us.

English is always weird if it comes to counting and clothing: pants, goggles, glasses, trousers. 2 for 25 seems ok.... But you might talk about 1 piece of underwear on the clothes line.
