Likewise. Myself and partner have followed your advice for a long time and we have 4 happy and healthy chickens. Look forward to more videos, thanks Becky

SoOOoo cute to see the chickens come over to see you at the end of the vid...they love you Sunshine Becky! It's a 'good' thing chickens don't know how to find you...because every chicken that is frustrated...would find your place and roost for life. THIS woman 'knows' how to raise chickens! Lovely vid and thanks 4 sharing your time/talents with us. I learn something new every time. Health and God Bless you my dear! :)
I would love for you to make more soap videos Becky !! You are one of the first soap makers, I watched on RU-vid. Enjoy other videos, but love your simple soap videos :)
BECKY, I thought you stopped Vid’s. Hey there!!! You made my morning! Unhappy chickens NO, confused chickens yes they follow me more than my dog does 🙄 my neighbors thinks it hilarious Amy’s pet parade dog cats and chickens all in line behind🤦♀️
@@BeckysHomestead I love the Crows too. I stop to watch them outside call and gather hundreds of them together onto one big tree and then they all fly off at the same time...going to do their thing. It's incredible to watch.
I watched your video's when i wanted to get chickens and they have just now started to lay eggs. Your information is so important for people who want to have chickens
Hi Becky, I love your channel. I have assorted breeds of chickens, all 19 weeks old. I give them their feed, seeds, veggies and meat & tuna as well as calcium. I have learned so much from you and I thank you for all the information you provide. God bless.
19 adult chickens will eat a lot. Remember different breeds have different temperaments. I group breeds into two groups temperament wise. The sweeties and the feisty's. They don't always get along☀️❤️☀️
Thank you so much. I've learned almost everything I know about how to care and optimize thier laying. The meat or protein in thier diet is so important. I give mine meal worms. They are laying 5 eggs a day out of 10 hens even in teens and 20 degree weather. I even added heater coop panels to keep them extra comfy. Not to much heat just a nice place warm place to roost next too . They are healthy and happy thanks to me implementing the info you have shared.
Fascinating info Becky! ❤ I saw someone toast the eggshells and pulverize it into powder and feed it to his animals...is this an option also for the chickens instead of oyster shells? 🌼 keep up the great content, we love your homestead and all your incredible content!
Was not getting any eggs from my 5 hens in about a week. Yesterday gave them a little meat. This morning there was an egg. Gave them a little meat this morning so hopefully there will be another one or two. Thanks for the tip
Fantastic video. I used to have chickens and witnessed those issues and now I understand that they needed meat and needed calcium! I feel bad that I learn now that it's too late. But good to know for the future. Thank you for the wisdom Becky!
Regarding meat. My seven coop bound hens get TWO CUPS of dried soldier fly larvae a day. Does that count? I am seriously allergic to CORN and SOY. React to it in the eggs from chickens that eat it. My birds get rice instead. I supplement this with COOKED lentils (very high in protein) and olive oil (corn is very high in oil). The lentils are generally boiled to a mash in a pot with meat fats and tiny meat bits. They also get my left over meat (all grass fed). I also add nutritional yeast to the daily ration of lentils (never cook yeast) and ginger, mix the mess up with chopped cabbage, celery, bokchoi.... Chickens ARE picky. They reject uncooked lentils and peas. Regarding stressed chickens ... My hens stopped breaking eggs when I removed the rooster and ate him for Thanksgiving. Or maybe HE was breaking the eggs -- he was the fattest bird I've ever cleaned! The coop got a LOT more friendly when he was gone, the girls acted as through they liked each other. Rooster had been pecking ONE hen. I isolated her until he was gone and she integrated back in the the society of hens without any problems. We have eggs, but the Buffs were slower in laying and less frequent this winter than the two year old white leghorns. And the nesting boxes MUST be clean. They'll lay outside the box if it's gross. Egg size -- the leghorns are now laying large eggs (some of them have double yolks), the Buffs (at a year) are finally laying medium eggs abut the Salmon Favorel is *known* for small eggs and these (at a year) are irregular. But she's got extra toes and feathered feet and a fluffy gorget around and below her hooked beak. She's sweet, smart and talkative. I don't mind the smaller eggs in this case.
I have not been watching you for as long as you have been helping us learn more about our cackle friends. Please know that your advice, based on irreplaceable experience, means bunches more than a little bit. One question.. does it take less time to pickle a soft shelled (hard boiled) egg? Love you..
If Your chickens looked any healthy they'd pop! So good. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Becky. You are a real down to earth human. Thankyou for your videos.
You should know I live in Oklahoma and just started with chickens in August and Tractor Supply said if I have questions or need good information to look you up!!!! 👍
One thing I want to tell you that you are so beautiful ❤️ pls share some beauty tips also.... This proves that age is just a number....beauty at its extream...love from india . And you are doing great work.. keep it up
Hey Becky, Love your videos, i've learned SOO much about chickens from your videos.❤💗 But I do have one question, one of my chickens has weird random bald spots, the chickens should get enough protein. Is it maybe because its winter time and they are more inside?
Great info, thanks! I didn’t know that the size of the eggs increased with the hens age, very interesting. With all the animals you have, how long does it take you to do morning and evening chores? Have an amazing day! ☀️
Hey Becky. Love your channel. Your homestead seems to be going well. Just checking in. How are you doing? Much love from a chicken mumma from australia.
It is going really good thanks. You know a true Homestead is a nice and easy pace. It's not a race to see how fast you can collect animals and stuff and just throw it on the property. I like to take my time and set things up perfect for beauty and convenance.☀️❤️☀️
Becky we have 18 chickens that free range over about 1/2 acre. My ISA brown(2)and my (6)Lohmann browns are MEAN GIRLS. They pick on some of the other RIR and barred Rock. How do you suggest on handling those mean girls? Separate them to change pecking order? Can you Help? Thank you Becky!!
HELP ❣️❣️ I have 2 chickie baby's that molted 5 months ago I'm in Texas, they still are not laying eggs.. Every morning they get scrambled eggs with the shell and ground turkey in them. They get fruit as well. In the afternoon they get live milworms as well . They get corn and oyster shells and laying feed .. still no eggs from these 2. They layed before the molting, they will be 1 yrs. Old in march. Any help would be grateful..💗💜 Thank you and for your videos..
Well do you have a nice quite hen house that is plenty big enough with a roost so they get good sleep? Do you have a nice nest box? Next I would deworm them and see how it goes. I would loose the egg shells.☀️❤️☀️
I’ll have to say with the eggs that are soft I’ve had my kids scare my free roaming eggs, And one time I had somebody painting my house and the chicken shot one out that was meant for the next , day because it was at the end of the day, and the shell had not been formed yet.
My 8-mo old australorpes were fussing very loudly for a long time one day - very very excitedly. It happened that one of the young girls laid a H-U-G-E egg -- like 2-1/4 times their current "normal." It seems they pecked at it like it was a scary animal or something. They didn't break it, it just had a couple of little dents. It has not happened again and we don't want it to. It must have been painful, these gals are very young.
My chicken had fluid came out of his mouth after it got finished eating and drinking water can anyone tell me why is that I had them for like 8 days and I seen her done it twice it's like when she done it it look like she was drooling Becky can you do a video on that
Ummmm... A chicken coop is a crate with bars on it used for transporting chickens. The place where your chickens live is the chicken house... Or henhouse. I'm not sure where it started or how it became popular that people call where the chickens live in chicken coop but that is not correct
