Typically in other MMOs like WoW or GW2 humans are all grouped up as a single race/faction and they tend to have the most boring and unoriginal origins, but I think this is quite different in Runeterra. There are humans, yordles and vastaya everywhere so it's not like different races are different factions like in other MMOs. And in my opinion Runeterra's humans are the most grounded, because the yordles belong to the spiritual realm, if anything happened to the physical realm that didn't affect the spiritual realm (ie Demacia gets invaded by Noxus for example) if it gets too difficult they can always retreat to Bandle City and screw everyone else. And the Vastaya don't tend to integrate within human society, like they have their own tribes and live alongside nature. In fact they don't like humans very much because they're messing up with magical balance... So if you want to get immersed in the different factions' politics and inner struggles humans would be the best option I think
They think there will be a cinematic trailer for the MMO by 2025 😂. Sorry but you need to fall in love with the idea that best case scenario is we aint seeing anything until 2029.
Havent seen the video yet, but by 2025 the game would have been ¨announced¨ by 4.5 years, and probably well over that underwork, My guess is around 6 years. 2024 also marks the 15th anniversary of Riot Games (On december I think?) So thats my personal date for the OFFICIAL announcement, like they'll have an IMAGE and a NAME, so I think having a trailer by late 2025 or mid 2026 with a date is fair?

MMOs are the most difficult and time consuming types of games to develop, and they've sort of announced the MMO om twitter when it was simply an idea that they were exploring. So it's more like they've been working on it for 4 years, exploring ideas, we don't even know if they're in full scale production or if they're in the R&D stage still 😬. I think we won't get the game until 2028 or 2030, and we won't get a trailer or anything until 2026 or 2028😅
In WoW the night elves (a playable race) were immortal at some point and now while mortal they still live for thousands of years, and have a natural affinity with magic. Originally they werr the only race that could choose druid as a class. Now in terms of gameplay they're just another playable race. Just because yordles in the lore are magical immortal beings doesn't mean that they won't be playable...
@@MagicButterfly549 but they are now mortal. There is a huge difference between mortal and immortal. You can't make it playable if you are playing as an immortal being.
@@wjillem3699 why not? If you play a mortal race in-game if you die your character doesn't get deleted or anything, you resurrect and carry on... It would be one thing allowing you to play as a demi-god or darkin, but I don't seen why yordles would be a problem, they're not over-powered
@@MagicButterfly549 vex was literally a buddy with viego. Veigar is basically a dark lord. Tristana is intangible and can dodge every cc when she jumps.
@@wjillem3699 yordles get captured by humans all the time in bilgewater, they get sold in the black market. So they're not so over-powered compared to humans and there's no reason why they couldn't be a playable race. Specially since a lot of people are expecting it and would be disappointed if yordles weren't playable.
Overall I enjoy listening to you guys. But honestly it's exhausting to keep hearing you harp on about WoW. I understand that's the mmo you've played the most. But saying things like certain races shouldn't be allowed to be certain classes is archaic. Any playable race should be able to be any available class in modern mmo. We aren't going to hear anything concrete about the riot mmo for many years. So you guys should really experience and dedicated more time to other mmo's until then. You need to open yourself up to new ideas otherwise you are just setting yourself up for disappointment.
I am considering Final Fantasy since Kong says they have a classless system. But even he, who experienced both, prefers the class system in WoW. Any MMO you think has a lot of solid stuff you think the Riot team should pull from?
In case of the riot mmo i have to agree on the "certain races can play certain classes" system. I doubt someone from demacia or ixtal will be able to become a shadow assassin. That class is in my eyes a Ionia only. And i know we don't know what classes we will get but the world of Runeterra has a lot of options for specific classes and most of them have a connection t a certain region. Like an artificer is a piltover or zaun class, no doubt.
I hopped on Wrath Classic recently. Wanted to try leveling. I wanted a blood elf, since that was the first character I made when I started back in 2011. Only to discover that blood elves can't be warriors? What. Every single other class in the game can be warriors. All 9 other races can be warriors. Meaning I could not play one of my favourite classes while experiencing nostalgia for my favourite starting zone. So I rolled a hunter and got bored in an hour. Lol.
@@andreas5341 thats just stupid. I don't know if there is a lore reason for prohibiting blood elfs playing warrior class, but they can wield a sword like anybody else.
@@wjillem3699 So do you think races should be only able to play certain classes or that your origin region should determine classes you can pick. I don't think they will set the races as demacian, noxian, ect.
