The fact that Rocket League is pretty much unhackable is one of its finest qualities. If Psyonix stops recycling cars, items, and LTMs, it would easily become one of the top competitive games out there
@@thatplane3865 Because then they could focus on other game improvements such as other ltms and maybe more game health things rather than money grabs such as car after car and the same game modes maybe he meant?
@@portg Rocket Sledge addresses this at the very beginning of the video. Rocket League is developed in such a way that the server rules, meaning that if there is an inconsistency between a client and the server, the data of the server is used for the game.
I think giving the ability to turn on visible ball pathing and boost hitboxes in free play or custom with bots would make way for Psyonix to keep new players longer, but I think the ones who give up right now because of the steep learning curve would quickly grow tired of the game anyway once you take away the "training wheels." I suppose even keeping a small percentage of the player base would be a win though regardless.
ya honestly this would keep me playing for longer than 30mins. i just started and have like maybe 10hours and im clueless the learning curve is fun but difficult lol
I don't think the assists should ever be included in ranked play, but I don't see a problem allowing it in casual. Maybe you can have a setting that can allow you to match in casual with other players who have assists turned on
I agree with giving new players something like ball prediction but not a minimap. Minimaps are one of those things that once you've had it, you're going to hate losing it, because you can learn to predict where the ball is going, but you can't see what's not on your screen right now. They're two very different types of aid.
the hardest thing for me was definitely getting the basics down at all and while I'm not even an advanced player I think giving very new and or low rank players a slight nudge and more insight into how they should play the game would make the casual audience much more engaged
I´m new to rocket and tbh, I enjoy learning and progessing there... I´m coming over from MMORPGs like WoW and think its pretty relaxed to have a game not cluttered with Addons and helping things ingame, because it wont help u in learning curve
As a former WoW player I know exactly what you mean. Also the time commitment. Any point you're probably only 5 minutes from being able to step away from the game. It's pretty chill but also can be as competitive as you want it to be. Welcome!
Yeah I think adding some assist tools for beginners would help retain players who try out the game. Many probably just give up when they can't make contact with the ball after a lot of effort, so they never experience those good feelings that come from accomplishing the basic tasks of a game and which make you want to go back and play more.
These are always things I had wanted when I was serious about becoming good at league of legends; another game with a crazy amount of customization between skins that makes certain skins "overpowered" due to their inconsistencies with graphical representation. I'll personally be giving the hitbox one a try, because I cannot for the life of me figure it out with the car itself lol (not a visual person Dx). Thanks for the video!
I like the thought of disabling help after a certain time but maybe set the cut off to like gold rank or higher lvl then 20 because if you’re just starting out lvl 20 isn’t that high and I feel you wouldn’t even benefit from it as greatly because you still are working on hitting the ball
If they were to implement it, I’d say it should be only in casual playlists, and no level/time cap, because I know many people who have many hours in the game, and are just bad. They way you are forced to learn how to play if you want to play comp, and you’re not thrown into the fire at a random rank
I've been playing for a few months... The very steep learning curve keeps the game exciting and fresh... Some players still find it hard to believe that a noob fought his way up to Diamond 3, in 3v3, when all my shortcomings get exposed! (Got beat back down to plat 😂)... Did my first air dribble goal ever, in an intense match, a few weeks ago and I don't think it would have felt so great if it were the millionth time.... Point is, if I overtrained to be the best at every little thing before ranking up, I would lose interest from playing the game too much... Even got my own unique rolling kickoff which sometimes catches high ranking players off guard if they don't guard the goal before rushing for the boost. 🙃🙂🙃..... Noobs, enjoy the game and ignore the toxic bullies.
I don't even understand why rocket league just doesn't add this to the game but only in private matches or training but not online etc. Like this would be so much fun to practice like this and give everyone a chance to learn something although it's gonna be too easy to learn things like that. But there should be something they can do.
Because majority of their dev time is taken up with rebuilding the entire game on Unreal Engine 5. Once its moved over I expect there will be plenty of development after.
A gamemode without any MMR where players can activate help tools could be cool. To search opponents of your level, you just use you casual MMR value, and you never win/loose MMR in this "Ultra casual mode"
I think the game should have a built in screen to view the cars hit boxes like a still imagine before you use it or buy it, I didn't known that about the dom, so explains alot
I still don't get why the Chinese version of the game has some truly unique and useful things (like the garage) that still haven't been added to the main game yet... :(
Honestly, Rotations, Passes, and such really depend on the teammate you choose to progress with. As you get to learn what your teammate might do over time, you tend to make smart plays by just muscle memory. Thats why Esports teams, and High ranked players do so well, and also why the majority of Rocket League players find Rocket League itself hard to play. Of course, 1s exist just because of that reason alone. Most people don't have friends to play with, and thats okay. Overall, its better to progress with a friend you can trust the most within Rocket League.
I think that a ball prediction should be in the game but when you enter level 5 it gets removed and map can be in but removed at level 10 and ball prediction and map can be added to local and private matches as a thing you can turn on or off
And hit box can be on local and private as a thing reply and play as a thing you can turn on or off and you can trun it so it only show in reply in pub matches it's only on replay and you can trun it off or on
Late comment to this video, this topic has always been so weird to me. As someone whos played since the games release, going through the hours upon hours of banging your head against the wall and figuring out a mechanic was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable. It felt rewarding without the help of many of these assists offer and I still feel like its one of the best ways to have your own and unique understanding of how you work best with the game. But at the same time these assists are amazing and a lot are what I wished for when learning mechanics. After all this time I'm able to stay a mid level gc2 player and still don't prefer to turn bakkes on even for the simple freeplay passes. Its a grey area in my mind I was wondering if anyone else felt the same
Sports are always evolving with different ways to train or analyze your play. It's been the same with RL and I don't think it devalues what you did in the beginning, but it's understandable when it's a change that you don't like to use yourself. The console community was very excited by the bakkes-mod-like free play changes that were just added. Stuff like that is important for the game to grow I think, as the it is a skill based game like no other and can be overwhelming to a new player.
As for me, I don't like having to spend hours and hours to learn how to do a goddamn flip reset. I don't find all those hours fun as you put it. I find it frustrating. So yeah I think my point is different people see fun in different things, and also teach me to air dribble smh I'm the only champion with gold mechanics
I suppose ball trajectory prediction would be a nice thing to have in certain (new) game mode. It could be first used as a way for people to improve, or to focus more on strategy than physics. Of course, convenient for new users. It could also be used as a way to "balance" the game in certain matches. Like for example, if your MMR is quite lower than the opponent, you gain some prediction accordingly. Or as scores are getting distant lets say, maybe a 4x ratio, like 4-1, 8-2...., the loosing side gains predictions proportional to it. Same for hit boxes, it would probably be interesting to have something like this enabled in certain gamemodes (or the possibility to enable it), to improve mechanics etc.
i think assisting newer players wouldn't be that good because it takes away from the learning experience and takes away a lot of the satisfaction from you first ariels ,goals from better positioning etc. What makes this game amazing in the learning process
@@foldedcandle I am new and honestly it would be boring if ball trajectory paths were just given to me. I like figuring out where it's gonna go just by watching it, it's fun
for the assist mode i think having it with your idea is still great but if it was an option against ai aswell thatd be a massive way for returning players to get back in and have a quick reminder of ball movement.
I can't even put into words how blown away I am right now. I have 3k hrs in Rocket League, 5 GC titles and i swear to god i didnt know u could drive besides the boost pads to collect them. Jump over them okay yea i knew but i always thought that I HAVE to hit them with the car hitbox. oh my f#!+-# god.
I'd love if you could turn on hitboxes for the cars and boost pads along with the flip indicator in casual, and then have them off for ranked. I feel like I'd develop so much better of a sense of how the hitboxes affect gameplay if I could actually get that visual feedback in gameplay situations instead of being like "tf was that???" whenever I feel like I just got robbed out of a touch or boost grab. I also feel like I can't get a good intuitive sense of when my flip runs out because I never notice the point it ran out, I just get the points where I either had it or didn't and being able to see exactly where the line is would burn that timing into my brain
Heck, even if they couldn't add that to casual I wish they could add an extra mode that's like training or something where you queu into lobbies with these assists on to help develop a sense of how everything works
The minimap is pretty dumb, it takes away from having to know and predict how things outside your FOV are behaving and would probably be more of a distraction than a useful tool. When you play the game for a while you also start to recognize players approaching you from their engine sound. Glad they didn't implement it.
The car sounds were useful until they broke them and now cars are only audible if they are in front. Apparently, people who played with sound had an unfair advantage.
Yo yesterday this guy got spikes and they depleted but clipped on me with a plunger a second later with no cool down on the power up idk if it was abusing the timing of power ups or hacking
@@Rocket_Sledge I have a replay of it on my Xbox I didn’t think of saving the replay on rocket league though but I can clearly see after reviewing it he had spikes and then a plunger immediately
just an FYI, do not share mods or stuff like this on any forums that is made for rocket league, every single moderator for the bigger rocket league communities out there have been told to ban anyone who share information on CHEATS for rocket league, so if you do so, you will experience a moderator react faster than you have ever experienced before and also with no warning you will get banned. they will tell you it's a time limit ban of something in between 3 - 6 months, but even when that time has passed, good luck getting your ban lifted. Epic/Psyonix is not interested in getting the news out on cheats and side hacks for Rocket league, as they are sure that it will push people away from the game.
These are all mods for the BakkesMod platform. Fully approved by Psyonix and also not usable in ranked thus causing no issues. I know for a fact that Psyonix devs have even watched this video (as I have spoken to them about it). Nothing to worry about.
@@Rocket_Sledge that might be, but the moderators on the forums for rocket league might not know about it, and atm they are very aggressive with anything that looks like cheats.
Adding assist to early players would hurt the players using it in the long run in my opinion since they would get used to those features and wouldn't learn any skills but rather just learn to look at a picture where everyone is or just seeing a line instead of readin the ball
sbmm is my issue with every game what happened to actually playing random players its not random if youre regulating who i play as i win or play better then my opponent
does anyone know how i can play rocket league on my pc with a controller? and also my pc doesn't have bluetooth... can someone help me pls. and also what controller can i use and how i connect it?
Tbh it would be really cool if Rocket League had a crossover with Hot Wheels, it would bring back a lot of memories, the Nascar update was pretty cool too.
In case you didn't know, currently there is already 5 Hot Wheels cars in the game from prior DLCs (not purchasable anymore). I would expect we may see them return at sometime. There is also a Hot Wheels map called "Rivals Arena" that is only playable in Private Matches though.
Hi! Nice video, very interesting to know there are many mods that i didn't know about (I might havent looked quite enough :x) I know you're not a support or anything so I know you won't have the answer; however I was wondering if anyone reading comments that have downloaded the "Predictator" plugin had RL crashing every time the ball is reset? Or is it just me and I should try reinstalling the whole thing?
You might need to disable some other bakkesmod settings that have to do with freeplay/training packs? I downloaded Predicator just last week and haven't had an issues.
@@Rocket_Sledge Thank you for the answer! I tried removing bindings, which didn't do anything, it worked only once when the ball was already moving, and crashed when it stopped.. :/ I removed every plugin to be started (even the bakkesmod builtins), it didn't fix it either :( Thanks for the idea! I supposed I'm not allowed to improve my Double Taps haha.
@@deadkex Hi! I just tried and unfortunately it didn't fix the issue :/ It really seem it happens when the ball is not moving.. I'll probably join the support discord to find a solution, thanks!
I've tried the hit box viewer. I dont understand how the car is supposed to be a box. the ball balances on top of my car but if its on the bonnet, it falls off the front, the front is sloped. the cab has a raised section, the box doesnt even touch the wheels. its a joke of a plugin imo
That plugin is actually partly made by one of the best "behind the scenes" guys for Rocket League: Halfway Dead of the Rocket Science channel. You are right the boxes do have a BIT of a slope to them (you can see it if you look for it). Wheels are not part of the hitbox. Otherwise the plugin is fairly accurate so I'm not sure what your issues would be. HalfwayDead puts out hitbox videos about new cars pretty regularly. The cars ARE all boxes. Even the devs themselves have shown this: twitter.com/mrcoreydavis/status/1306718212579450880?s=20
I've always thought there were a few things that could be fun. One would be a casual game that included 2 or 3 balls. Call it Bedlam. Another would be to improve the ability of the bots. Instead of Rookie, Pro, All-Star, how about Bronze, Silver, Gold, Plat, Diamond, etc? There's a point where it would no longer make sense to keep going, but you get the idea. When ping is horrible or servers aren't working well, I like to play 3v3 against the bots to see if I can rack up 1,000 points, but watching their level of "confusion" in certain circumstances, their inability to do anything in the air, etc., is irritating. Anyway, the bots could become a better place to learn some gameplay skills or take some chances, in the absence of getting lit up by teammates for a mistake. Bonus - bots never quit, grieve, whine, or ask to FF. BTW, I would really like to have the hitbox view available for training. That would be very useful in freeplay.
I ALWAYS wanted to know if I could have unlimited flips and I was thinking I could go to the ceiling SUPERFAST and there it is and the one before it is CRAZY TOO
Why not just give assist options (like the minimap or the path prediction) that you could turn on and off as you like and that are only available in informal matches? That way ranked matches would remain fair to everyone, and people with bigger issues could use them there. And despite the possibility of good players taking even more advantage by using it, at a certain level you would need to turn them off so you get used to not using them (in case they wanna go to ranked, otherwise since informal matches are just for fun/practice it wouldn't really matter). I think that'd be a good way to do it
That 2nd hack you showed with the green trail not sure why they would patch and get rid of that one when the Chinese version of rocket league still has that.
Online games, PVP are made to be cheated. You can't use the word "Impossible". Devs know that players gonna dominate A.I. offline that's why they introduced online gaming to do consistent cheating behind the screen using proxy packet editing and mods to bring out the rage in players. There are several cheating I encounter everyday in rocket league such as Quick Aerial, hard hitting shots, perfect Freestyling goals, hurtful ball or car mechanics, lag switching, broader car hitbox etc. You have to cope all of these things if you are involved in online mode no matter if it's Ranked, Casual or Tournament, you can't escape these permanent hacks.
they should have a minimap but just only in casual then have it optional for private games, it'd be so much easier for people to learn that way without getting the advantage of the map in ranked so you would have to use what you learn
Most of these assists are pretty useless to higher level players (even distracting), and if they are a smurf they have all the advantages anyways so not sure it would change much.
It's actually not as hard as you think to manipulate the dedicated server. It's just that the vast majority of hackers are people with know actual knowledge of computer science that pay someone to do it for them. With the higher level skills needed to hack in rocket league, there aren't really programs out there to buy. You gotta do it yourself which is a deterrent to lazy hackers
I think it actually has two entries in the plugin list, the "ball predictor" one has no options. Make sure you hit F2 to open BakkesMod, go to Plugins and scroll all the way down to "Predictdator" Let me know if this solves your problem.
