Y'know, I think Bethesda missed an easy opportunity; giving Father the mysterious serum. Either it kills him, and the Institute hates you for it, of he is cured and the Institute begins exploring creating this serum. Or at least investigating it, and by extension Cabot House.

To play devils advocate here, when you play the holotapes in the mechanist workaround, you only have to play the holotapes long enough for each person to say their name and department, then it will count as a voice activation.

It's crazy to think of how much dialogue there really is in Bethesda's games and how much gets missed by us in a normal playthrough

On the Silver Shroud quest,you can actually KILL Shinjin before even talking to him and all the gooons are gonna scram and Kent can then upgrade your suit

That one for Automatron is probably my favorite. It feels very "New Vegasy."

There's five secret settlements that need your help. Here, I'll mark them on your map.

Regarding Codsworth: you don't have to "avoid" Sanctuary, you just have to not interact with him/it. I had a full thriving settlement full of people and new buildings and just chose not to ever interact. And there Codsworth remains, floating in front of the old house, in perpetuity.

if you skip the minutemen quests and go straight to the memory den you can "Relive" the vault event and they will send you straight to nick valentine in diamond city by name.

You know if you take that change card from that scammer to Far Harbor , you can actually redeem for 100 caps.

Even though Fallout 4 feels unfinished in many ways, you can tell that the developers had a lot of fun, adding in little surprises like these. I have played the game many many times and I still manage to find new locations or new dialogue that surprise me. Even the way Diamond City changes its look on Halloween or Christmas day was a pleasant surprise.

Attention to detail. Yet if you beat the game with the minutemen and the part where the railroad and the brotherhood of steel would fight and one would destroy the other never happened so all factions are still there except the Institute, the railroad will talk about Glory as if she's dead since that happens if you fight and destroy the BOS, yet she's still alive, she just never talks anymore. And the BOS will talk about Danse as if he's been exiled, yet he's standing right there on the Prydwen next to the person talking about how he's been exiled...

difficulty wise yes killing Kent is the easiest way to finish the fight. But emotionally? Imagine the toll.

One of my favorite things to do is complete Nuka-World as a raider before meeting up with Preston. While he still expresses shock and disgust with your actions, you then get the opportunity to set things right with him and betray the raiders. It allows you to get the full experience of that DLC yet remain a good guy, so you get the best of both worlds.

It amazes me that General Atomics programmed emotion in the personality of their robots. I mean Codsworth clearly has some level of complex emotional capacity.

Most recent dialogue that was a 1st for me was when the player kills Kyle when you enter Diamond City. Didn't expect the guards to complement me. Was just trying to get merchants to get back to work faster.

I ignored the minutemen my very first play through, I thought they were just a secondary faction like Reilly’s rangers 🤦‍♂️

Another alternate dialogue: Wear power armor when you first go to meet with Preston Garvey, Sturges will change what he says.

The sister still appears youthful and I find her constantly in Good Neighbor enjoying the nightlife. By the way could someone on the PC give themselves a second antidote for the Vault 88 quest? I would like to see if they have a different response if you somehow had a spare one.

here's 2 more secrets. 1. Cait's parents are Colin Moriarty and Nova. 2. Go to far harbor and upgrade any helmet that can detect synths and look around, i was pretty surprised

Gut feeling says there are many secrets still to be found in this game.

The side quests in this game where given extra options and dialogue depth then even the main questline. For example, you can use the mysterious serum that can cure everything to heal a terminally injured man in far harbour, but you cant use it on father, whos in better shape.

I have a secret, too! Though maybe not as exciting... If you side with the Railroad and board the Prydwen to destroy it, if you wear any Brotherhood armor, no Brotherhood troops on the Prydwen will attack you, but you will have to pass several speech checks in order to place the bombs.

I found the speach check right away in the mechanists place. I remembered something similar in FO3 or NV when I found that terminal and as soon as I found the first hollotape I figgured popping them in was worth a shot.

Okay, someone needs to mod that Galleria bowling quest, and actually add in a working bowling minigame. That would be pretty neat!

Codsworth also has unique dialogue when you meet him mid way through

Just a heads up Juice, you can throw the bowling ball (or any other objects) by holding it and holding and releasing the R key.

There are still more. At the Galleria, if you go to the robots they will normally self-destruct or attack you. But if you go there and immediately go up and take over the location as the overseer, they are all peaceful and no longer self destruct or attack you. You can get the unique Codsworth dialogue by simply not going near him. He will stay forever only in front of your house so you can still do the Minuteman quest and work out of it, just avoid going near your house. At Far Harbor you can also use the "Charge Card".

Fun fact: if you hold down R after picking up an item like that bowling ball, you can throw it. Left and right click rotate the item and I think holding Alt while clicking changes the rotation axis.

One thing I done recently is if you don't help Danse, if you ignore and stay away from the Cambridge police station, and complete the game with minutemen. He will thank you and you can relpy with different options than usual. After that he gives you the 'Righteous Authority' right there but can't do any other missions for him.

I'm currently replaying, and I'm appreciating it more this time around doing things differently and discovering new things. Not to say I didn't like it before but there does seem to be things missed opportunities with certain avenues. The game definitely needed a yes man avenue I think, and a couple of other things to make certain thing feel a little more fleshed out.

This is a great video. I have played fallout 4 for over 550 hours and many of these have come unoticed good job. Typically videos like this have well known things, not this time

With over 2400 hours in Fallout 4, I thought I would know all these secrets. However I didn't know about the last two.

If you wait till later after completing the game and go and do pipers interview the dialog and the newspaper thats put out is different if you had done the interview as soon as you met her.

9:39 This happened to me because I ignored Codsworth (I even made Sanctuary my main settlement without talking to him, lol). It's really not that hard. The secret dialogue still happens until you pick a dialogue option with Codsworth.

You can actually get a different speech option if you clear the castle before Preston tells you

The thing with unique conversations if you wear the Silver Shroud costume I already encountered even pretty fast, since I was wearing it because it had more protection (specially if upgradet afterwards if you saved the ghoul ) than everything else which you get at the beginning and could upgrade without any perks.

I don't think I knew about the secret regarding the holotapes in the Mechanist's Lair. That's really cool. I'll have to try it myself on my next playthrough. That final room battle can be very tough on Survival.

Yeah, I discovered the different Cods-worth dialogue on my thread play through. I've skipped Preston and Cods-Worth every play through sense. I think Preston has different dialogue as well, if you never talk to him until after Sean's death.

Not only do I always hit up Sanctuary, I also always knock it down and build 10 thousand shelves for a solid 20 minutes. That can't be just me :s

Yeah well done, i came across a few things like this, different outcomes and effects due to arriving or activating quests at not the right time

Seeing you walk through the building with your green pip boy light on gave me nostalgic memories of fallout 3

The Mechanists Lair on survival is genuinely one of the toughest boss fights I've ever played in and game. I went in at a much too low level and spent 90% of the fight just outrunning assaultrons so I could get enough distance from them to get some shots off.

I actually did the Minute Men questline, built up Sanctuary, and teleported to the Institute at Sanctuary. I still got this dialog from Codsworth because I just never talked to him. You can even walk inches away from him if you're doing something like cleaning up the settlement. Just don't enter a conversation with him, and it treats it like Codsworth never meets you.

If you go to Goodneighbor first before Diamond City, you can actually sign up to use the memory lounger which will replay the scene where Shaun is taken. Upon realizing this occured, the owner will Apologize to have put you through that and Direct you to Nick Valentine to help you. Which seems to be an alternate way for the player to be set on the right direction without actually needing to talk to piper or make one of the numerous easy speech checks in diamond city to learn about him.

9:00 there’s a bunch of stuff like that, if you don’t meet dogmeat before trying to track down kellogg he’ll just spawn and nick will say that dog meat is his friend

I don't know if anyone said it but you can bowl two ways. 1. Junk Jet. 2. You hold down the hold button? Then release it? It's the one where you pick up an item, then hold it to release it. You essentially launch it.

..... Dude. As you are on PC. There is a console command to complete parts of quests. Its the same as the one for skyrim(obv lol) . but its handy to complete whole or up to , parts of quest lines. If I find it I'll post it :)

How do you know when you've played Fallout 4 to much? You watch this video and already know all of these. That's right even the playthrough avoiding Sanctuary and the Minutemen, been there done that. Also you don't have to let the holotapes play in their entirety in the Mechanists lair, just past the part where they state their names and title. Then swap to the next tape, and so on. And there's an option to peacefully take over General Atomics Galleria. Gain the ID of the new supervisor from the General Atomics Factory prior to going to the Galleria then present it to the Director. Several new vendors open up at the galleria afterwards, I swung by there on my weekly water delivery route after reopening the galleria.

i loved the mechanist dlc so much purely for the mechanist base the writing the storytelling the shear evil pre war horror that weve only really scene from vault tech its just amazing for a lore person like me

With the bowling thing, i remember once seeing a way to throw and interact more with items in fallout 4. Like spinning them around and well, throwing them. Sadly i dont remember how its done tho

Peeking Around/Above cover.. I didn't know about this for years. This function exists, you need to be 'very' close to your cover are just aim down sights to peek.

@juicehead I haven't played this game in like a year, I've finished 2 playthroughs, jump back in to the commonwealth when I need a break & just explore. I have to ask .... 1. What type of gun & scope was that at the beginning of the video? 2. What guy were you using when attacking the goons in the alley? Are they guns from mods missions? Just got recommended this video. But my most recent playthrough I'm doing right now. I actually found out you can use the Mysterious Serum on Andre. With that in mind I wonder where else you can use it.

I too skip everything and rank the character a little bit and get some caps to then buy the spray n pray from cricket then journey to Nukaworld and take over the Commonwealth as a raider. 👍

What was the pistol mod you were using in these clips? I recognized the service rifle/SREP, and I think I saw DOOM's Ithaca shotgun, but didn't recognize the pistol and I'd like to try it out!

If you manage to have a set of power armor before rescuing Preston in Concord, when you show up and speak to them for the first time it will automatically skip the fusion coil quest dialog and they basically say you should be able to take the minigun with your suit.

I gotta admit that I had no idea about the elevator.

Also a extra on the Shroud one that not many people know, ever wondered why the Silver Machinegun is so weak compared to other weapons? you are supposed to shoot Kent (not in the head of course) so that he will fall down wounded. This way he will survive due to the lackluster power of the Silver Machinegun, and the Raiders will give up on using him as a hostage as they are just too stunned that you just shot him. Found this out in pure frustration after constantly reloading my save in attempts to save Kent via dialogue options, only to find out his death was scripted after pretty much every dialogue outcome. So basically you can have your cake and eat it too, play the role of the Shroud while still saving Kent.

I stumbled across the Galleria just the other day for the first time. It was super fun. (I tend to get sidetracked on settlement building.)

Did anyone know that the Mysterious Serum can be Dogmeat-duplicate even after the patch? The timing window is just very narrow but it can still be duplicated. Having multiple serums can be pretty useful in some quests. Even had multiple copies before completing Special Delivery quest.

Yes I found this very informative. I am going to make use of the Automatron info every chance I get. I hate that final room with a deep unabiding passion that will never die.

Another rare dialog on Catsworth if he tells u to go to the museum and u come back to him without talking to the minuteman u will say that u found nothing but raider or sth

I was hoping you'd put the charge card interaction, where u buy the charge card from the random interaction, and then give it to the the dude at far harbour, he buys the charge card off u lol
