I'm sorry, there are so many people saying that anything and everything is bad for you. Moderation is key. You need salt. Get rid of bad fats. Eat whole foods. Get rid of sugar and processed food.
I drink green tea everyday, I have hypothyroid but I never had problem about my t3 t4 etc...I have weigh gain due to my thyroid, I need drinking green tea even i follow my diet ,I lost weight after 4months by green tea 🍵, we take everything with moderation like you said, thanks for your comment
Dr Gupta thank you for this information it has been interesting to learn more about the thyroid . I have had this problem since having my first daughter in June 1979 the problem happened suddenly over 5 month's after her birth it was only then that the females in my family ie sisters me & my niece's ,Mum & my first daughter . I did not know it runs in families , after my first daughter I put on so much weight could not understand why was told by my GP don't be silly so I went to other doctor he said doe's thyroid run in your family did not know my eldest sister said yes the test is history still have it now at the age of 66 there's no hope now thank you for giving out this information . Nina Martin
Doctor the way u narrate the information is exellent and every word u utter is highly important Thanku God must give all health wealth to u and your family
Thank you for the information. When I was diagnosed with hashimotos 10 years ago, my doctor did not explain what it was. Instead he told me to Google it. I have been flying solo ever since.
Please do post your opinion on lectins, what about ragi and other millets, what about tapioca and tapioca flour? What about chicory flour? Have always seen extremely contradictory videos on these food products. Thank you doctor Gupta
I avoided food mentioned in this video. I used coconut or olive oil, almond milk. Boost up my vitamin D3 and do some fasting. Recently, blood test shown T3 & T4 back to normal. Awaiting for B12 result. I think the seaweed I ate also helped my thyroid hormones back to normal. Now I need to bring the antibodies down.
@@SuryaSrujana1812 Naturopath doctor prescribed me the vitamin d3 liquid to take 3000mg daily. I also ate Brazil nuts or take selenium supplements. Basmati rice is gluten free I learned. Walking. Diet is important. Cut down on coffee and tea. I didn’t take any medication. But check with your doctor. Good luck.
Lastly u said "like olive oil"...................... but common people, middle class and below middle class people cannot afford olive oil....... than what to do. which oil is better for thyroid.
Good information for those Not allergic or intolerant of sulfur. However, if you are, for the love of all that is sacred, please avoid olive oil. (I literally just figured this out 2 days ago, and have switched to butter and almond oil). The good doctor is correct about everything else he has spoken of.
Almonds, dairy, soy, caffeine, all veg and seed oils are bad for thyroid and many other things. Avocado oil and coconut oil are good. Make sure there is a 4 hour window from the time you take your meds until you eat. Watch Dr. Eric Berg, Dr. Ken Berry, and others on RU-vid. Codfish liver oil is very good and so is real olive oil. Try Inositol, maca powder, and make sure you get enough vitamin D3 in combination with K2. Thyroid patients need higher doses. Make sure you take iodine supplements too. Most Drs. endocrinoligists included are clueless. They don't do complete testing panels either which are so important. If you can try a functional medecine Dr. who specializes in thyroid.
This was very helpful. Dr. Gupta, re the caffeine... should we drink green tea that is decaffeinated then? I thought green tea supported the thyroid function. Thank you.
Now green tea is getting a bad rap bc it is quite high in oxalates. Is anything left! After watching so much contradictory information as to what is good and bad, I guess I'll resort to eating cardboard. I have hypo, take synthroid which I hate but nothing else agrees with me. I have nodules which I get biopsied. Lastly, coffee is good for so many things I am not giving it up. We can't live without salt. So....
Non GMO certified organic foods are quite acceptable. There are good oils. There are good mineral salts. There is good Mexican corn if it can be gotten. But thanks anyway for your thoughts 💭
I already do my best to abstain from soy, corn, seed/veggie oils so now I have to stop consuming caffeine. I think I have my salt under control though since I try not to buy processed foods and when I do I'm pretty picky. Though now I'm going to double check everything just in case. Caffeine is going to be the hardest though. What can I drink in the morning that is sugar-free that will help boost my energy for the day and wake me up?
I would like to know the test about caffeine, because I just saw some other videos that said that there has not been any research testing for coffee. Who's lying? So if you can point me to that paper, I would appreciate it.

I need a new doctor. My doctor said that if I quit gluten. Everything will be normal. 3 months gluten free and I am still all messed up. At least most of my pain is gone. I have horrible fatigue and crazy sweats. Swollen neck pain.
Im in the process of detoxing from 50mgs Levothyroxine.. hoping to get off this synthetic drug.. wish my doctor had of told me i was iodine deficient.. but i suppose big pharma needs the cash
Not all salt is bad. Celtic , himalayan & bahaa salt full of minerals and is needed for mineral absorption & water hydration. A pinch of salt to a glass of water for absorption & hydration.
Processed foods, Soy, Gluten, Dairy, Sugar are foods I avoid due to my Hashimoto disease. Oh yeah caffeine too! Olive oil, avocado, oil, and coconut oil only!
You talk about foods to avoid . If people can get there thyroid levels under control and don’t have to be on meds, do we have to keep all those foods out of our diet forever and take all the supplements forever ? Can you make a video on that ?
Sounds like anything in life I would think we can have a treat day or cheat days and make up for them like cleanse and eat really healthy after. It works a lot of time for people in different diets. We have to enjoy life still and that’s also important. Not a medical opinion just my own lol. 😋

Hi doc . In January I had my TSH drawn and it was a 10. My doc upped my dose . A few weeks later I found your videos and eliminated gluten, dairy , sugar , processed foods and nightshades . Six weeks after the first blood draw I was tested again and my TSH was .03. So my doc lowered my dose . I’ve added some of the supplements you recommended but the last three days or so I’ve been completely drained, tired, feel like my body is on fire and full of anxiety. I think I’m in a thyroid storm . Is there anything can be done in the meantime time or just have to wait it out until the next blood draw ? Thank you .
What are your thoughts with consuming sea moss for people who have underactive thyroid, hypothyroidism/hashimitos? Should it be avoided? I continue to read conflicting information
Eat vitd selenium and iron gummies, the Brazilian nuts have which is better and magnesium in food form saves u some money, for the vit d gummy to absorb and iron gummy
Dr. Please give a list of foods to be used in Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism, mainly mentioning the salt which should be used, Because they get mixed. Thanks
