What are your favorite types of shoes? The shoes I show in the video: 1. Brown dress shoes - Magnanni & Berwick 2. Dark brown loafers - Heinrich Dinkelacker 3. Dark suede loafers - Tod's 4. Sneakers - Lacoste 5. Winter boots - Shoepassion (Now Henry Stevens)
Great pairs, I would highly recommend a black and a brown pair of dress shoes (can be Derbies or Oxfords though I prefer Oxfords) so that you have a pair for every occasion depending on formality.
Thank you for watching. Great point :) Black and brown would be the ideal case, indeed. I buy mostly second hand and my shoe size is a bit tricky, so I only found brown pairs until now. Glad you liked the video :)
Thanks bro 🙏 Glad you liked it. I had 2 rather unsuccessful cooking channels before, so I have some editing experience luckily. Btw: great colors on your longboarding video. That looks great.
The turtle neck with the jacket looks really good on you. I love brown shoes as the features show up better than black. There is a place for black, but brown is just more fun. Your jacket reminds me of one I have in 75/25 wool/linen, I see it as my summer jacket and don't mind wearing lighter brown shoes with it. If your suit is dark, then you want medium to dark brown, but if you are wearing a light suit or light pants then going to a lighter brown gives a summery look.
Well done !! Great picks on all ! I Especially love Magnanni shoes - I think made in Spain and have great burnished colors in the leather Great job Sir !
Bin gespannt.
Thanks for watching, Charles. I buy them mostly on ebay and ebay Kleinanzeigen (It's a classified ads site here in Germany similar to Craigslist. That's where I get the best deals and most people are ok with negotiating a 10% lower price or free shipping). Facebook marketplace or local groups also work if you are in a bigger city.
Thank you for watching :) I mostly buy them on sites similar to craigslist or from ebay , but depending on your shoe size, you might also get some good deals at local thrift shops or from a second hand online marketplace. The best is to make a list of bookmarks of searches on various sites for different brands/styles in your sizes, so you only need to check every so often or you might even be able to set notifications.
Amazing and informative video! I sign up under your suggestion having 2 pairs of shoes, which I try to stick for a year already, because, well, its a real survivability test for your shoes if you buy only 1 pair and wear them non-stop, not to mention legs health.. ugh What are you thoughts on Chelsea boots though? Those definitely are #1 on the spring shopping list for me! haha
Thanks for watching, Alexandr :) I am glad you liked it. So true :D I love chelsea boots. They are some of my favorite types of boots for sure and super convenient for the airport. Because of budget constraints, I try to mainly buy second hand, and haven't found a great pair yet, so I gotta wait :) Which brand are you planning to get and which color?
I didn't like loafers before but definitely on the look out for a pair. For the same reason you mentioned in the video. Do you have any experience with Berwick shoes/loafers?
Thanks for watching, Dominic. Glad you liked the video. For everyday use, clarks also has some good loafers and they are on sale quite regulary - got mine for 50% off. (I find myself wearing them quite a lot because they have a rubber sole, so they are great when it rains, and they are not as expensive as my others, which I reserve more for special occasions.) I have one pair of Berwick oxfords. They are pretty comfortable and I got them for a decent price second hand. Definitely a good brand.
Nice video and shoe collection. You’re on point with these selections. Personally I’d swap out the loafers for a decent pair of work/walking boots that you’re not afraid to beat about it around your property or on country/outdoor walks. Anyway, great suggestions and video and well done on the good level of production.
Thanks for watching and great point :) I also always have a few more rugged options with a rubber sole, just so I don't ruin my good shoes when I am on a country walk or on cobblestones or taking the bike.
Nowadays, sneakers are also worn and also look great with business suites. Boots are still in, like the DMs but I guess the days of dress shoes are numbered.
Thanks for watching, Armand. True, I guess it depends on how start of a contrast there is between the suit and the sneakers. What boots would you pick?
A dress boot can look just like a dress shoe but taller. They are great to wear with a rubber sole in the winter months so you have 90% the look of a shoe but the function of a boot with greater protection and safety.
Thank you for watching. I am not the biggest fan of shorts either, and try to avoid them when I can, but sometimes in e.g. Bangkok, it is simply too hot and humid for anything else, so they do have a place in my opinion.
@@Lukas_Schanderl low top sneakers for the summer, but I’m bit a fashion expert it’s just my opinion. Please do more videos like this on quality shoes and if you have watches or maybe even maybe fountain pens 🤷🏻♂️
Great choice :) Sneakers are always a good option and can be more versatile. Thanks for the suggestions :) I would love that in the future. Currently a bit on a budget, so mostly focusing on second hand clothing and dressing well on a budget :)
Danke dir :) Da bin ich ganz deiner Meinung. Ich kaufe eigentlich fast alles Second Hand, da kann man nicht allzu wählerisch sein :D Welche der 3 Marken kannst du empfehlen?
@@Lukas_Schanderl in any formal situation where one might wear loafers, I just stick to oxfords. And where casual footwear is concerned I’ll wear a chukka or sneakers pretty much any given day. Idk if it’s because my childhood association with loafers was always the raging alcoholic old man that was my middle school principal that exclusively wore loafers. I just can’t look at a pair without getting that vibe
Oxfords are always an elegant choice :) Ha well, with a principal like that, I totally get your point :D That scars for life. It's funny that you mentioned LA hipster. The hipsters here in Germany usually don't wear loafers. Interesting how it's different across the globe.
