putting toilet cleaner in the crockpot cracked me up! New subbie here! Dont forget about the public library to check out new movies for free! I almost always get them at the library WAY before it comes available on streaming.
Haha I am glad you enjoyed it!! Great recommendation!! I never thought about that!! Thank you for sharing that with us! I can’t wait to give it a shot!!
I go out to eat once a week, with my mom and aunt. Maybe twice on rare weeks. And almost always with friends and family. It's a social event, not a routine one. Not only do I save money, I get to spend valuable time with family and friends. I could give so many examples of frugal living at home. But I'll pick just one, towels. I buy one new towel every few years. I use it in the bathroom for typically 2-4 years, until it starts to fray and doesn't dry as well. Then it becomes a cleaning towel, for another 3-5 years, since I no longer care how it looks or feels, cleaning up after my pets, bleaching countertops, etc. When it becomes ragged and doesn't clean as nicely, it becomes the garage towel for a few years, used to clean up grease, oil, grass clippings, and so on. Then, since my local thrift stores have a fabric recycling program, I donate it, and it becomes insulation used in someone's home for years, maybe even decades. As a bonus, I save a TON of money on paper towels. Seriously, a $25 pack of paper towels will last me nearly a year (yes, I do still use them). Sure there's another big piece of fabric in the laundry basket every couple of days. But that's very manageable. So, I reduce my consumption, save money, and reduce my environmental impact, all while still occasionally buying new.
Incredible!! I really enjoyed reading this comment! The towel portion is especially incredible! We always used shirts that got “ruined” and they just turned into cleaning rags or things of that nature! Such wonderful experiences. I hope all is well, thank you for reaching out!🤍
Thanks for sharing this video. I agree with your conclusions. Frugality does not mean cheap. It is living intentionally - quality over quantity. This lifestyle offers the opportunity for time freedom. 🎉 Enjoy your journey!
Some great points in this video, Damon. It was very entertaining. I can't believe that people eat out so often, especially when it is so much cheaper and easier to ensure healthy ingredients are used when you make home-cooked meals. My favourite take away is your advice to drop some of the things that you don't enjoy as much so that you have the resources to enjoy the things you really love.
I am so glad you enjoyed it! Isn’t that wild! I was shocked! The benefits of simply cooking at home are immense! Weirdly I would often find that people were cutting away the hobbies they loved simply to have more money. It always made me think about the reflection in which we see ourselves. That sometimes we think the things we love doing are silly and should just prioritize the societal needs. Thank you for reaching out!
I always enjoy home cooked meals when I’m staying at home and I miss those when I’m traveling ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ but I love to explore new dishes from other cultures haha 😊 The most obvious benefit of frugal living is the financial benefits, what do you think about saving money in different ways? Such as in cash, long term investments or short term highly liquid cash equivalent? Just interested to know! Appreciate if you could talk about that as well in one of your videos in the future 🙂 Happy holidays and Happy new year to you and your family including your sweet and supportive gf 😊🌷
Oh absolutely! New dishes are the best, and they give you the opportunity to try to make it at home! I personally do not believe there is a one size fits all method with any aspect to finances. For myself personally I have 60% of my cash invested into particular stocks that I will most likely never touch in my life and will just loan against it in my 40-50s. Rest is all cash, I personally do not think there is anything worth buying more than investing into myself and I’m spending it so quick inflation isn’t a concern. But again that’s not the best advice for everyone. I would say general thoughts just as I briefly think of it now diversity is the way you win. Stocks for the long term that hopefully you never sell and you just loan against it to avoid taxes, some sort of cash producing product in the short term (bonds, cds) if rates are high and only holding actual cash for emergency fund of 6 months. I would certainly like to make a video exploring different paths! Thank you for mentioning that! Happy New Year! Safe travels and thank you as always YUKi for all the support!!🤍
3/4 of a cup defined: Step 1:Take 1ea 1/4 of a cup measuring device... Step 2: ...use it to measure your messy powder 3X... 3 scoops... do it 3 times... There you go... you are now ready to be a chef... a carpenter... a dad... Thank You Tube!
Thanks for the reminder regarding clothes and impulse shopping. I am on the brink of a no spend period, and somehow the fomo crept in, and suddenly I felt live I needed to go shopping before. That said, I Gott really beautiful gifts just 3 days ago. I blame the habit, and thats why I am doing the no spend. Great Video, thank you 🎉
Absolutely! No spend periods are great! But the gifts you bought are great also! It’s all about balance and having grace! I hope you have wonderful holidays and thank you for reaching out!🤍
I dont know if this will be helpful. Clothes that are stained, like kids clothes tend to be, or clothes i wouldnt feel right donating because holey. I cut up and use it as rags for cleaning or whatever.
That’s a wonderful tip! Grew up using my parents old shirts to windex windows and spot mop the floor! Such a creative and intentional way to get as much value out of your items as possible! Thank you for sharing
