My lord #1, 3, and 4 took me back brother!! I was literally holding my breath waiting for you to add the reverb to #3! Nailed it sir!! Wow. Thank you so much Will...truly, truly fantastic! Ahhhhhhh-men Brother!!🙆
These are proving to be very popular Will, they are so insightful. At the risk of being a pain and I know I have mentioned this in the past, but Members of Mayday 10 in 01 the synth sound. You would make an old man very happy ha ha.
I remember when I suggested this series like 3 or 4 months ago. Thank you for following through! Your content's quality speaks volumes for your passion as a content creator and musician as well as your raw knowledge and talent.
@@EDMTips a song suggestion, if you don't mind, for the next episode in the series: Nevada by Vicetone and Cozi Zuehlsdorff One of my all-time favorite songs, the drop at 0:48 (Spotify version) has a highly processed sound as described by them in a documentary about the making of the song, could you possibly try and recreate that?
I can feel your excitement when doing Out of the Blue melody / sound. I mean - this melody is one of the most positive, optimistic melodies in whole music history. I don't know if it's about the chords, or the sound, or both, but this melody just makes me happy, it is a promise of better future ;)
That promise of a better future came together perfectly at those times with internet on the rise, technology on the rise, the millennium around the corner and these type of sounds none of us had heard before. It was unlike anything.. very special and exciting times!
I was thinking about doing some sound design in Vital (alternative to serum) after my exams and this video just came up. Keep coming up with such videos, sir. Subbed :-)
Forever looking to refind that initial surge of dopamine Will ;) Like you I coull not take the smile off my face for 30mn. Thank you for the video, learned a lot, as always :)
That out of the blue melody is stunning with the tone of serum. Thx for sharing this. So much fun to follow along making this sound from scratch, you are a great teacher! I come from rock & roll, but have been loving exploring EDM , especially love being able to learn all the timbres of the different genres. Cheers
Bit late to Serum and learning it. This really helped, thank you! And yes, Out of the Blue is the absolute chefs kiss of why Trance is amazing. Just makes you feel so happy. Seeing Ferry in Leeds this November, and cant wait for him drop it (he absolutely will.....he has to by law!).
I’m really enjoying these lead tutorials. Would be interested in hearing more facts about the song. Like what synth or vst was originally used for these sounds in their respective songs.
You are right, Will. You can follow along the videos even without using Serum. I was able to re-create some of the sounds in these "5 sounds that..." videos using the simple Wavetable in Ableton or Surge XT. Thank you as always for sharing your knowledge.
@@EDMTips there is one really old song by pka .let me here you say yeah..right here right now but it's really old..you can still here it on utube... would be awesome to see note pattern and how to make the sounds thanks or anymore ferry corston cos I am a fan and above and beyond there great to thanks
I love the Out of the Blue tune! Great to see your love with this song also. I think a lot of people know, but for those who don't: the original sound is coming from the famous Roland JP-8000. If you're not one of the lucky people owning one you could also think of buying a software emulation like the JP6K. Just a top tip as Will would say normally 😉.
First claiming that you can do this in any VST, not just Serum, then going on to using the filter macro features, that is pretty much an exclusive feature to Serum, and is one of the reasons why it's become so popular in the first place. Yeah, excellent. :P Granted, SOME of this is applicable in SOME other VSTs, but it's certainly not universal.
Real cool thx! I recreated it all in Avenger VPS which I found rather hard to follow (mostly due to the filter choices) but got it in the end. I'll try to do the same in Massive X and Vital next.
Will, I watch almost every single video of yours. Very cool channel and highly informative. But I must say this particular video's intro style is a little bit over-the-top. It's hard on the eyes with the quick glitchy video edit effects. Consider maybe switching back to your old format? Thanks man
Will , thank you for yo videos , appreciate it so much, but can you please observe more modern melodic house and techno lead sound , like Anyma (afterlife) Mathame, Artbat
Hi Will, I am completely new to music production with 0 experience :) Looking to buy Live 11 and my question is, do you use Ableton Push hardware? Do you recommend it? Thank you for your videos! Keep them coming!
If you're a complete beginner I would look at starting out with a cheap midi keyboard that comes with free copy of Ableton Lite and build from there. If you are following RU-vid tutorials like Wills not many people will demonstrate using Push and it's a big learning curve trying to use them to follow along. It's much easier with a mouse until you can start to produce your own music then things like Push/Maschine become a new creative tool to learn.
