Absolutely! Sean, I’d love your ideas for a coaching package name. My goal for 2019 is to put together a signature talk focused on helping people reclaim their sacred stories. The emphasis of the talk is moving past old wounds and towards one’s passion or calling. In giving this talk, I’m also hoping to pick up coaching clients who would like to dive deeper. Any thoughts on a good coaching package name?

I like the alliteration of Sacred Story, and I think it should have something added to it in order for it to feel like a program, something with a benefit or movement in it. For a coaching package, it's great to give them the main benefit they're after, so what would you say that is for these people? You mention moving toward their passion or calling, but what's beyond that - why should they do that, in order to accomplish or experience what? Without the benefit of hearing your specific answer yet, I'll offer a few brainstormed possibilities... Your Sacred Story Program; Publish Your Brilliance; Commit to Your Calling; Purpose, Passion & Profits; Claim Your Calling; Your True Calling; Alignment; That's all I have in my head right now without hearing your responses and identifying some of your unique language. John Ghostt Aaaaaaah got it! For whatever reason, I wasn’t reading it that way. Sorry! haha I like the idea of a club for exclusivity. What about the “Founders Club”? I personally like that better because of the connotation and the fact that success is used so often everywhere. Or something about leaders of you want to include managers. What is it that they want? For themselves and others they are leading or the business they are building?

I'm based in the UK I dont have a business yet I give one to one personal life mentoring to people using my own methods of cognitive behavioural coaching, through a process of developing strategic thinking out side of the every day mental box to find different ways of thinking which lead to a Solution based ground work, in doing that my clients become more confident, they gain a better understanding of them selves and they become more self aware more emotionally intelligent, grounded, and calmer, I show them how to make better life choices how to own those choices and how to feel empowered through all these changes. When you see a person go through each of these stages from start to finish, it feels awesome, they go from uncertainty to certainly, I always build my relationship with my client first as this really helps me to find out how they see things, but after that I always develope a personal based plan tailored to help their specific issues and I give them written exercises to help them get clarity as part of the process as well as talking to them if I was coaching people to develope self awareness and emotional intelligence what would I call myself? Another valuable video!! I'm new to life coaching and I always wonder if getting this information is too good to be true ! You are appreciated especially since a lot of the content you post could be paid for. This video was helpful because I have been overwhelmed on the prices coaches are telling me I need to pay them (6000-10000). I don't want my clients be at a disadvantage financially and your suggestion on having three different packages for different types of clients! Thank you!!!! :)
I'm happy this one landed with you as well, Tay. You're way better off pricing your programs where you feel comfortable than what people say you "should" be doing. That method is coming from the wrong place in my experience and opinion. You're thinking about it the right way, I promise. ;)

Hey, Toni. First of all, that's great work you're doing. And, emotional eating is the process, not the outcome. Unfortunately, especially with health, nutrition, weight loss, etc - people want the outcomes. So I want you to ask yourself what is it that your potential seekers will write a blank check for. I don't want to give you my thoughts because you are the expert in this case. My suggestion is that you spend 10-15 minutes brainstorming with somebody else - don't do it by yourself or you'll keep your deeper creativity locked - what these people want and what transformations you'll provide. Then, ask 10-15 people who are interested in getting healthier what they really want if you could provide it for them over the course of 3 months. Aggregate those, look for similarities in concepts, phrases and words, then let me know what you get and we'll take the next step. Sound good?
Coach Toni how about calling it Dynamic Transformations or Epic transformations or Dynamic reinventions or The reinvent-You Program or Better-You Program or The Epic You! Program just some suggestions or go to Google search type in what is the most used word or words people search for when looking to hire an emotional eating coach, phrase that part as a question that you are asking Google I do ask Google questions all the time and generally I do get some good answers. Hi, Geeta. Sorry for my delay as my notifications were shut off for some reason. :-/ I would focus on one of those targets to begin. I personally believe women finding purpose after their kids have left home, is powerful and super specific. And ask yourself what exactly do those women want? Are they looking for purpose? Are they looking for happiness? Are they looking to stop eating their feelings? Whatever they're specifically wanting is the place to start with your title.
As always good stuff Sean. Create the frame work and then work the plan. It's the process and end game that is so important. Always have your end in mind. Very practical on the time element. 90 days is very common growth package.. Keep the great content coming. Yes,,, tips on sales and marketing always appreciated.
I personally like ONE step over A step because it sounds more significant & intentional. It feels more productive than "a" step. You might want to consider "forward" in there somewhere, like A Step Forward... or Forward Step... or One Step Forward. Now, if "A step" is a signature story of yours, and/or you use that phrase all the time to the point where it's a brand message uniquely tied to you, that would change my mind. Does that help?
Hi Chach Sean - question for you. If you are introducing a strong concept that has not been tested, should you give the class for free to test the process or is it ok to charge an exclusive group to come in and test the process and leverage their results for a larger more validated push?
Either way is okay. I would say it depends on how engaged your audience is right now, as to whether you can charge a fee and still get the number of people you want to have. So I would start with that goal first - how many people do you want in this group? If you have already sold things to your community and can likely fill that number with the new program, charge for it. If you don't have that experience with your community, and it's important to have a certain number, then offer it for free. Although, making something free doesn't always mean it will be easier to sell or that more people will jump in or that they will be committed and engaged if they do jump in. So there are lots of variables to consider, rather than a blanket rule. What do you mean by introducing a "strong concept?"
@@coachseansmith Thanks for your reply. Over the last year and a half I have worked to develop a real estate system that is very different and in my opinion, will disrupt the game of flip and wholesaling. I am working to teach people the process and within the model we don't Buy, Renovate and Sell, we teach investors how to Partner (with the home owner), Renovate the property, they Sell their home and the proceeds above the before renovation value are shared between the homeowner and investor based on the terms negotiated. I call the system the Straight-Line Partnering system and whereas all of the other systems are investor oriented, this is the first and only system that is both homeowner and investor oriented which means rather than having to run out and find homes, homeowners are marketed to so that they seek out our investors simply because they will make more money when they sell their homes. My concern in offering it for free even to a select group is that it could lessen the brand.
Tye Glover Wow, Tye. This sounds super unique and exciting. Because it’s so distinct, I would not give this away for free, especially since you are essentially selling money. And when you’re presenting something never before presented you have to position it differently because you’re literally changing people minds, which requires slightly different kinds of persuasion, authority, etc. And, if the new idea works, there will be copies hitting the marketing very soon after, so it’s critical the launch is optimized as much as possible.

I am a mindset coach for self-employed women so I am struggling to name my coaching package/programme? I am trying to help self-employed women who feel stuck and doesn't know how to get forward mainly due to mindset (not being good enough, not worth, limiting beliefs, lack mentality) So I am wondering if I call it Let's get unstuck, Move forward successfully, I want to use mindset word in my package but struggling ... I wonder if you could help. After watching your 6 step IGNITE framework, I am thinking of calling my framework - MINDSET which will describe the path through the anagram what we would do in our sessions...
I like the MINDSET idea, especially if it's an acronym for your framework and it's the main thing you are passionate about. For the title, my question is what do they really want? They want a better mindset so they can do what? They want to be successful in business so they can do what?
My mission is to work with people who want to tap into their inner space , to know their potential as non- physical being first , to discover the power of the mind and to explore the divinity within, so I choose to name my program "I enjoy to be " is simple we all have to enjoy the process, the journey of being here in this life time, and play with the energy so we can Be, have and do wathever we want. thank you any advice???:)
Sean, in a nutshell I am new life coach (NLP), just putting my first website together. My ideal client is some one obviously stuck in hole, and is in need of a deep and meaningful conversation. The service/result an empowered and compelling future. I like the idea of a retainer as a third more expensive option, to make my other packages look more affordable, but I am having difficulties seeing how it would work. For one I think it would create a possible dependency relation ship which is the opposite of what a life coach is trying to achieve and what if I have a full client list of one on one clients and the retainer suddenly leans on me for time. @@petermcneill7950 Thanks for the extra clarity. So are you saying with a retainer, then people would have unlimited access to you? You might be using the word retainer in the same way that we just talk about monthly pricing for a normal coaching package. The dependency concern is more about how you coach people instead of how you charge, in my opinion. I do agree that coaching is not about creating dependency, so I like your outlook there. Having the full client load would be an amazing problem to solve when it happens! My suggestion is to sell your packages with a set time frame of x# of months, and then give people two options to pay - in full or payment plan. At the end of the program, you can offer them more time with you and if your client load is full at that point, raise your prices to filter some people out, but keep your overall income the same or even higher. Does that make sense?
Makes sense, am kind of there. But I have got it, I don't work Mon-Tuesday they are my study days and business development time, however for my clients on a quarterly retainer (passive income), they will have access to single sessions on those days, I really value my free time on those days so pricing equal to the value I put on my time on these days, and no other days do I offer single sessions only package's and group coaching. Again this is my third pricing option, making my other option look really affordable, hoping no one takes it up. Ps kind of ecstatic you took your time to leave a response, thanks Sean.

Hey, Emer. Sure thing... 1) Is this a group program or a private coaching program? Sometimes that makes a difference. 2) I personally like the first one because it has several powerful words - master, emotional, spiritual and peace. Although I would suggest making it more dynamic by changing "Master" to "Mastering". That gives people the sense of movement and that your program can continue helping them evolve throughout the process of coaching.
It is interesting that even though you do not name your program whatever it takes anymore, all us students fit into that profile of we will do whatever it takes. Thank you for your content. Always great value.
I am a hearing loss coach. This is a great guide for startup. I am hearing impaired and I want to help hearing impaired people to achieve a well balanced lifestyle. I have named mines the Powerful Life Balancing Master Plan but I cannot seem to work hearing loss in. From your video today I have come up with BETTER HEARING FOR A BETTER ME. People are insecure in their hearing loss and fear that it doesn’t present their best self. You thoughts?

Getting clients is about being valuable and visible. If you already have a high level of certainty about who you are and what you can do to help people, then you simply need to get in conversations with more people that match your ideal client (your seeker). If you don't have that certainty, you have to get it by working on your coaching skills. Once you have it, go where your seekers are and offer them conversations to see if you can help them. Not necessarily too simple. And everything comes down to testing your market. If I had to make an assessment, I would say a lot of people will be turned off by the word discipline. I think most people know that if they were more disciplined, they would be more successful, but people don't want to get disciplined! haha Beautiful catch-22. It also has a punishment connotation for some people. However, you might be trying to attract only the people who DON'T relate to the word that way. P90X created a massive brand around hard core disciplined exercise and did really well, so there IS a market. Just depends on how you're going to position yourself and your work. If you want to explore different titles, I'd suggest thinking about the benefits of discipline. People want to be disciplined so they can do what? Generally, we want to name our programs with the clients' benefits because that's ultimately what people want. And nothing is absolute when it comes to marketing, so everything needs to be tested to see what actually works, not what theoretically works. I hope that helps a bit.
