Several Good points. I didn’t realize how exposed the windows were on this style of tent. Wouldn’t be much fun in a rainstorm, the ventilation would suck.

Yes. Honestly, I feel like that's the biggest design flaw. Especially with the tent body being black, it heats up fast, which is okay when its cold, but would suck in the rain on a warm or hot day.

Thanks . I was looking at this one. Were you able to return it?

No. I wasn't able to return and i was kinda blown off when I told them I was unhappy that their specs were incorrect on their website. They seem to have corrected their specs with the new version but I wouldn't purchase again without double checking ahead of time. I ended up selling and going back to my Gazelle tent for now. Resale market for a rooftop tent is abysmal, so make sure you are very sure of the tent you want to buy before you do it. If I decide to go that route again, I'll check them out at an expo in person and look for a discount before I buy. Thanks for watching.

Each roof top tent has it’s good and bad points. It depends where you are and what is convenient for you. Me? I’m in California; there are many windows, you don’t have to open the back one when it rains. My decision for this tent are you can quick set up/get in get out rain or shine, no need fiddling with rods and awnings, especially if it’s raining.

I don't disagree. It's a real tradeoff for the speed and ease of setup. I bought it because I liked the idea of being able to get in bed within 45 seconds.

A lot of people regret buying a RTT, I have always used a canvas ground tent and will continue to do so, for me a ground tent has more positives then negative.

I agree. I'm switching back to a ground tent. There are still things I like about the RTT, but the cons outweigh the pros.

A lot of people love their RTT. Me personally, I like being off of the ground and out of the mud and away from critters. I like that I can pack up and go in a few minutes instead of messing around with a ground tent and trying to get it folded up and packed if I need to leave in a hurry.

Is this the SHORT model?

Thanks for watching. This is the version 1 which was only available in 49" width and 55" width. Both were the same length. The V2 is available in a short (79") and long (88") model. Both of the V2 models are the same width. Their website shows just a V2 model but the specs are a bit confusing, so I'm not sure if it is a separate model or not. The one major complaint I have is their specs are inaccurate or incomplete. Or they make an almost perfect product with a major oversight that would have made it perfect. This tent was really well made. The quality of workmanship was top of the line. But inaccurate specs and a couple design oversights made me sell it and go back to the Gazelle tent for now. Their Aspen Lite looks promising. Could be a perfect tent, but it has zero cargo carrying capacity, so you can't even put a rigid solar panel or maxtrax on top. I wouldn't want to put much weight on top, but it'd be nice to be able to put something up there. Their standard Aspen can do that, but is missing many of the features of the Aspen Lite that make it near perfect. My best advice is to check them out in person and buy when they're on sale.

@@xpoverland Which aré the missing features of the Standard that the Lite has ?
@xpoverland
@xpoverland 2 месяца назад
@@gusteevte5665 I'm not sure what you mean. The newer version is the V2 and comes in a short and long. The main differences are the length and the new mattress. I'll have to look to see if there any other notable differences.
