I quit drinking last September. What has been really surprising for me about quitting alcohol is how many people have asked me why I quit drinking? My question is, why does this matter to anyone? No one would question my decision to quit illicit drugs, like coke or herion if I was a user. It’s crazy.. alcohol is just as addictive and dangerous. It ruins lives. I’m a better person now that I’m sober. I just had to come to the conclusion that it’s MY journey.. no one else’s

You look amazing Meghan. You inspired me to quit too. I get lots of judgemental people in Ireland too. People who are making it awkward for you are either jealous or just not nice people. Ignore them. You find your true friends when you go sober.

When I quit drinking, (11 + years ago). I was not prepared for feeling my “feeling”. Boundaries are healthy. No matter what we humans do, there will be critics and supporters. Yes, I have built a support group of people who live in the steps of A.A. As you have shared, we all have challenges. I’m grateful for my sobriety. Thank you.

I was at 6 weeks no drinking and this past week I had a lot of emotional things going on in my life and slipped a few times. I’m going to get back on this journey because I love the way I feel not drinking and having a clear head. Thank you for your inspiration 🙌🏼

Congratulations I’m just a few months behind you after a 40 years career of being a functional alcoholic. Many friends and family didn’t believe I could do it but I’m 8 months without a drop and plan on continuing my new journey happy healthy and sober. Great job! I know that it was NOT easy! I am currently @ day 19 alcohol FREE and I feel so good about it.... I am pushing for 30 days and hopefully it will get easier.... I've been drowning myself with work until I have the self control to be home alone and not want to drink..... Thank you for these videos, they really help us

I've found that some of the best decisions I've made for myself in my life have been the ones that have caused people to think I'm looking down on them. Whether that's permanently deleting all my social media accounts except youtube, quitting drinking, or committing to a fitness/health routine, it's like it's impossible to express to people that just because you've made a choice for yourself doesn't mean you think less of those who choose differently. Soooo frustrating!

Reaching a whole year is amazing, proud of you. It makes things easier when you get to that stage when you feel no temptation at all. Sometimes a small side of me thinks do i want a drink then a bigger side kicks in and tells me nope not worth it even for that very short lived enjoyment. You see all the negatives with booze in its entirety and it becomes a no brainer to avoid it completely. I'm gonna be tested very soon though saying all pf this, i have a good friend who has been in hospital since the new year with all kinds of issues and he sends a message in the watsapp group yesterday telling us theres nothing more the doctors can do and hes only got days left to live now. Still doesnt feel real. So just hoping through this period I'm not driven to turn to it. Any advise would be great from anyone, thanks 🙏

MEG!!! I FINALLY did it!!! I got pass day 3!! Im on day 33 and I have not gone anywhere tempting yet but I live above a liquor store and i have money lol and I have no taste, urge or desire to drink!! it actuall disgusts me to think about a sip!! I LOVE YOU MEG!! A JOAN OF ARK OF THESE TIMES!!!

Congratulations, I'm now in for 2 month and My best friends don't have a problem with it, but I think that's also because we all slow down because so much crap has happened. Not to mention that life gets so much more out of control and you're just a plaything of life.
