I took delivery of my Taycan GTS last week. So far I'm loving it. I've only used the home charger as yet as the first DC fast charger I tried was out of order (not a good omen!). I think I'm going to charge little and often on longer trips to begin with though. We'll see The Taycan make a mockery of our speed limits though. Its so composed at any speed, and of course it gets to the speed limit stupidly quickly too. Looking forward to your next vid

I've owned Teslas since 2017. Just got a new plaid X and plaid S. The beautiful part of Tesla is you don't think about charging because they actually have decent mileage. And superchargers are amazing.

Great video. I have my GTS for a few weeks now and I absolutely love the car. Except of the charging that is. Ok, I'm driving it in January in Switzerland, so the conditions are not perfect and I'm getting 300+km anyway, but so far not once I got the claimed 250KW speed even with the rapid 350KW chargers. I think if they managed to bring the range to REAL 400km in any conditions (unless you drive like a mad man) that's good enough for me.. Let's see :)
@TABonTV
@TABonTV Год назад
Thanks! I think there has to be a specific planetary alignment to get the 250kW speed 😆 I plugged in to a 350kW at a Porsche dealer and was only seeing 100kW. Real world you'll only see those max speeds initially on a very low, already warm battery!

Hi. I've ordered a Taycan 4S Cross Turismo here in Germany and will get it in September. You're right, the battery is on this kind of extremely fast car with terrific high power motors if you get a Turbo S a little bit to small! If you take the world fastest EV limousine the Tesla Model S Plaid with 1022 HP, you'll get a 102 kwh battery with round about usable 95 kwh and a range if you get it loose of 300 km, you'll see that the range depends on different factors. The first and hardest is fast driving (pedal to the metal) 😉 Then a small battery capacity to a big power amount. And least the charging curve. Even the Plaid only gets 250 kW in a 2 minutes peak and disappears very fast down to 150 and 80 kW. At Porsche you have a guaranteed 150 kW plateau curve and if you get your battery preconditioned on a real HPC you always get 250 to 265 kW. And yessss, you have to know in winter times the preheating takes about 20 to 25 minutes on normal drive. On the Autobahn here in Germany where you can try to metal it, the battery will be warm by driving. 😁 It's a totally different experience to drive an EV. And it takes about up to three or 4 months to get into it. But at least, the driving experience in a Porsche Taycan is insane! No, I tell you, really no other EV and some High Power Porsches can beat the Taycan! Especially if you ordered back steering, torc vectoring and automatic balancing! You're always driving to fast in every curve or swing, roundabout or what else.... 👍 I'm driving a Tesla Model S 7/2019 for now until September and didn't have any charging problems because of the Tesla SuC and all of the other fast charging stations here in Germany.... Try to look on Out Of Specs Motoring on RU-vid, Kyle drove a Taycan Cross Turismo all across Europe and especially Germany by using full speed or charge 1 or 0! Amazing! So have a great time with your Turbo S! One of the best EVs ever!

Pulled in the parking lot at my job the other day, and as soon as I got out of the car, one had pulled up to the light on the street. First time actually seen one. It was surreal. Before it could sink in, a big rig blocked my view. So I patiently waited for it to move just to confirm it wasn't an illusion. 😅 When the light turned green, the rig took off first. The Taycan was sitting there like a beautiful unicorn 🦄 😍 😅 MY first EV crush 😂👍

Batteries are unlikely to see improvements, only degradation. The longer you own your car and use fast chargers, the more the battery will deteriorate, resulting in a gradual decline in mileage over time. Additionally, in regard to charging, it's important not to overlook the cost factor. You'll end up paying significantly more for charging on a supercharger compared to traditional diesel or petrol options. Moreover, I find it frustrating when electric vehicle (EV) owners attribute all issues to the newness of the car, thereby absolving the car manufacturers of responsibility. No, you've paid a premium price for a car that depreciates by half as soon as you sit in it, from a manufacturer that has had ample time to perfect its production. They do not disclose potential problems with the car in their advertisements, and if they are aware of these issues, they should not be selling the vehicle.

recently got new taycan turbos s cross tourism - having had m3, e53 coupe, amgs gt63s, panemrqa turbo s hybrid in last 10 years this is the best car - best driving most on rails car I've ever driven. Ive zero issue with access at 6foot 2 and 161/2 stone, Ive no range anxiety all my charging is at home I don't drive every day or if I do some days are 30 mile trips. Do London and back but not really worried as computers very accurate and when I've stopped at service station I've been Able to have 15 min charge , whilst I get some water and coffee, just to try it. Os fro me it the best car and best travel solution I have ever had, but that's mainly due to the fact I don't do many miles and if I do they are very big trips where you'd need to plan anyway. I guess you worry less if you know you can drive a combustion or better still hybrid if you don't want to have with more travel time or planning.

Just yesterday I contacted my local Porsche dealership about a test drive for one of those. That range (together with little head room in the back and the small boot) are what I'm most concerned about. Well and the depreciation if I brought a new one. My longest trips are around 180 miles in a day which should work with a short charge on the way, I suppose. So maybe that's not so bad. Thanks for the video. :-)

Get real my Taycan Turbo will give me 220+ miles always! I live in the Midlands about 3miles from J10 the M42 with the A5 Bypass. I travel all over the country. My longest one hop trip from is 293 miles. OK as stated the car won't do that! Neither will my bladder, thirst or the need to straighten my legs & get the blood flowing. How are you fixed? Really! I home charge my car every night on my home charger. Starting after 8pm (20:00) That way I get electricity at 7.2p/Kwh with Bubble! OK. I set off at Stupid O'clock by choice and drive A5, M6 as far as I feel comfortable. Yes must agree car is the most comfortable I've owned. Poor previous car choices. I never look at the charge remaining. This a carry over from my ICE days. Brim it wait for the Orange warning light to come on then think! At this point I hit the SatNag screen where it shows a likely charging station. It shows all the ones nearby, how many on site & how many are free in real time. I then tap the screen again, it brings up a list starting with the closest. Maybe not the most convenient. But it usually gives you a choice 6, maybe more if you scroll the screen. It tells you brand & output. You can also look for nearby amenities. You pick the one you want. The screen changes to ask if you want to add it as stop over! Confirm & it guides you right to the Charging station. Voila! Drive plug in wait for it to have chat to it's best friend & begin to charge! You go & have coffee see the vicar or whatever! Caution when see a charger with 350Kwh, look for the small print. It often says shared! So if there 2 DC cables & somebody else is charging next to you. You only get 175Kwh. Now if these Chargers can be approached from both sides then two cars can hook up the other side. So, 87.5Kwh at Best. Never forget charging from less than 20% is ball achingly slow. As is charging above 80%. Home Charging excepted. The law of diminishing returns. Then before I've set off I've got a free Charging fob in the from Visit Scotland! You can get a free one hour charge every where! Even got one in a free car park on the bank of Loch Lomond whilst we were having dinner! I also book a hotel or B&B with a Charging point reserved! Yes they are often slow home chargers but they've got all night. Apparently very kind to your battery. You just have to think Electric, a simple adaptitude & attitude adjustment! Right you've come from an McLaren 570 & you suffer from range anxiety? Did the engine ever run? Or did you go everywhere on the starter motor! My 650S spider has never done 200miles on full tank of 97or 99 octane fuel! £90+ worth! As for ingress & egress from an McL requires education & training! I'll explain, open drivers door. Stand facing the rear of the car with your right leg adjacent to the newly revealed cill/tub. Feet shoulder width apart. Right hand on rear haunch just behind where the door closed down to. This is assist balance. Lift your left foot back from the knee. See this where you ned to balance. Continue to lift left foot above cill/tub height. Turn your body anti clockwise until left foot is in footwell. Squat down on your right leg as you continue to turn & lead slightly forward lowering your head. As you continue to turn and lower you will find yourself sat in the driver seat with your right foot still out of the car. Now before you take the piss, ladies particularly appreciate this method as they don't Flash the Gash!
