I had a desk job for 5 days and my soul was literally being taken away from me, I HATED IT. I like working with my hands and not with drama filled lazy desk job people. I enjoy coming home from work being tired and feeling like I actually did something that day. I am going to try to be an electrician soon, it seems like a great fit for me. Thank you for this video.
@@Bambam0415 Lately I’ve been thinking about getting into the trade but I don’t have any experience with electrical and everything looks confusing & overwhelming do you have any advice ??
Just applied today after graduating high school last week. Applying to IBEW in Northwest Indiana. No electrical experience but I think it’ll work out hopefully.
Man, I'm with you. I still stop and smell thr roses. Whether it's a crazy cool view, going below a historic building, working in a famous place like a radio or news station, whatever. I still stop and take in how fuckin cool it actually is. It's crazy how few of us do that. Most of the guys treat everything as another job...but a few of us are like "woah, wait. Are we ACTUALLY doing this right now?"
I was a trainee back in the 90's out of Indy. It wasn't the right thing for me at the time, but I learned so much. There are days now when I wish I was physically capable of it...
Seeing cool places is definitely a perk. I was standing on top of the tallest building in western canada while it was being constructed. I managed to get pictures of the city from all sides.
One question every tradie gets asked is "what was your job before this" because it's never anyone's first career. You find radio DJs, caterers, EMTs, designers, engineers. It's amazing how many electricians have a degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
I just graduated college and I’ve been interning in marketing. Im realizing I don’t want to work in an office everyday it feels like a prison. Once I started learning about the trades, I have wanted to try an electrician apprenticeship. It just sucks that I wasted 4 years in college. Luckily Im not graduating with debt but it’s still a hard decision. Do u think I should go for it?
@@rays1684 Yea but dude I hate sitting at a desk for the majority of my day. I hate petty office politics. I wanna try working with my hands with other men that sounds more natural and healthy for me. I know that those jobs are tough on the body tho. It’s a hard decision.
@@nicky4114your body is built for hard jobs like electricians throughout time in history men had it harder than us and look at what they built and they didn’t have half of the tools we do now a days so I would recommend yes ur body isn’t built to sit around and do nothing
I'm in the same boat, I had an office job for like a week only to learn I HATED IT. I can't work in an office with a bunch of drama filled lazy people. I've always liked working with my hands and like coming home tired after work. I'm going to go for it!
AE Thanks for another great video, unfortunately not enough good content for starting, running and growing an electrical contracting business besides our channel.
Oh ya... the weirdos love it... had a automation electrician that I worked with exposed for being a drag queen on his free time.odd group but in general electrician is a very dry term when considering how many fields are the trade way difrent installing residential wiring and outlets than being a strange drag queen that edits plc programing and troubleshooting complex network system. I'm a automation technician but called a electrician strange dudes in that field...
@@bannedagain1784 I worked with a commercial electrician who was into the bdsm lifestyle...and that's ALL he would talk about. His sex life or World of Tanks. Some were really cool, but there are some doozies.
@@KiltPatrick I think its more of an issue more on the smarter field's. Idk why I'm currently in robotics and higher end plc. I consider my se,f as normal but yeah.... it's odd how the more higher t End thinking jobs consist of more and more freaks. I love the more critical thinking electrical jobs but yeez.....seems like you have to work with more drunks and people who are into wierd sex stuff.
